Psalms 139

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,	1 Del maestro de coro. De David. Salmo. Señor, tú me sondeas y me conoces
2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.	2 tú sabes si me siento o me levanto; de lejos percibes lo que pienso,
3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.	3 te das cuenta si camino o si descanso, y todos mis pasos te son familiares.
4 A word is not yet on my tongue before you, Yahweh, know all about it.	4 Antes que la palabra esté en mi lengua, tú, Señor, la conoces plenamente;
5 You fence me in, behind and in front, you have laid your hand upon me.	5 me rodeas por detrás y por delante y tienes puesta tu mano sobre mí;
6 Such amazing knowledge is beyond me, a height to which I cannot attain.	6 una ciencia tan admirable me sobrepasa: es tan alta que no puedo alcanzarla.
7 Where shall I go to escape your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?	7 ¿A dónde iré para estar lejos de tu espíritu? ¿A dónde huiré de tu presencia?
8 If I scale the heavens you are there, if I lie flat in Sheol, there you are.	8 Si subo al cielo, allí estás tú; si me tiendo en el Abismo, estás presente.
9 If I speed away on the wings of the dawn, if I dwel beyond the ocean,	9 Si tomara las alas de la aurora y fuera a habitar en los confines del mar,
10 even there your hand will be guiding me, your right hand holding me fast.	10 también allí me llevaría tu mano y me sostendría tu derecha.
11 I will say, 'Let the darkness cover me, and the night wrap itself around me,'	11 Si dijera: «¡Que me cubran las tinieblas y la luz sea como la noche a mi alrededor!»,
12 even darkness to you is not dark, and night is as clear as the day.	12 las tinieblas no serían oscuras para ti y la noche será clara como el día.
13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.	13 Tú creaste mis entrañas, me plasmaste en el seno de mi madre:
14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and al your works are wonders. You knew methrough and through,	14 te doy gracias porque fui formado de manera tan admirable. ¡Qué maravillosas son tus obras! Tú conocías hasta el fondo de mi alma
15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of theearth.	15 y nada de mi ser se te ocultaba, cuando yo era formado en lo secreto, cuando era tejido en lo profundo de la tierra.
16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixedis there.	16 Tus ojos ya veían mis acciones, todas ellas estaban en tu Libro; mis días estaban escritos y señalados, antes que uno solo de ellos existiera.
17 How hard for me to grasp your thoughts, how many, God, there are!	17 ¡Qué difíciles son para mí tus designios! ¡Y qué inmenso, Dios mío, es el conjunto de ellos!
18 If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand; if I come to an end, I am stil with you.	18 Si me pongo a contarlos, son más que la arena; y si terminara de hacerlo, aún entonces seguiría a tu lado.
19 If only, God, you would kil the wicked!-Men of violence, keep away from me!-	19 ¡Ojalá, Dios mío, hicieras morir a los malvados y se apartaran de mí los hombres sanguinarios,
20 those who speak blasphemously about you, and take no account of your thoughts.	20 esos que hablan de ti con perfidia y en vano se rebelan contra ti!
21 Yahweh, do I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who defy you?	21 ¿Acaso yo no odio a los que te odian y aborrezco a los que te desprecian?
22 My hate for them has no limits, I regard them as my own enemies.	22 Yo los detesto implacablemente, y son para mí verdaderos enemigos.
23 God, examine me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns.	23 Sondéame, Dios mío, y penetra mi interior; examíname y conoce los que pienso;
24 Make sure that I am not on my way to ruin, and guide me on the road of eternity.	24 observa si estoy en un camino falso y llévame por el camino eterno.
