1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,	1 Al maestro del coro. Di Davide. Salmo.Signore, tu mi scruti e mi conosci,
2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.	2 tu conosci quando mi siedo e quando mi alzo,intendi da lontano i miei pensieri,
3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.	3 osservi il mio cammino e il mio riposo,ti sono note tutte le mie vie.
4 A word is not yet on my tongue before you, Yahweh, know all about it.	4 La mia parola non è ancora sulla linguaed ecco, Signore, già la conosci tutta.
5 You fence me in, behind and in front, you have laid your hand upon me.	5 Alle spalle e di fronte mi circondie poni su di me la tua mano.
6 Such amazing knowledge is beyond me, a height to which I cannot attain.	6 Meravigliosa per me la tua conoscenza,troppo alta, per me inaccessibile.
7 Where shall I go to escape your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?	7 Dove andare lontano dal tuo spirito?Dove fuggire dalla tua presenza?
8 If I scale the heavens you are there, if I lie flat in Sheol, there you are.	8 Se salgo in cielo, là tu sei;se scendo negli inferi, eccoti.
9 If I speed away on the wings of the dawn, if I dwel beyond the ocean,	9 Se prendo le ali dell’auroraper abitare all’estremità del mare,
10 even there your hand will be guiding me, your right hand holding me fast.	10 anche là mi guida la tua manoe mi afferra la tua destra.
11 I will say, 'Let the darkness cover me, and the night wrap itself around me,'	11 Se dico: «Almeno le tenebre mi avvolganoe la luce intorno a me sia notte»,
12 even darkness to you is not dark, and night is as clear as the day.	12 nemmeno le tenebre per te sono tenebree la notte è luminosa come il giorno;per te le tenebre sono come luce.
13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.	13 Sei tu che hai formato i miei renie mi hai tessuto nel grembo di mia madre.
14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and al your works are wonders. You knew methrough and through,	14 Io ti rendo grazie:hai fatto di me una meraviglia stupenda;meravigliose sono le tue opere,le riconosce pienamente l’anima mia.
15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of theearth.	15 Non ti erano nascoste le mie ossaquando venivo formato nel segreto,ricamato nelle profondità della terra.
16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixedis there.	16 Ancora informe mi hanno visto i tuoi occhi;erano tutti scritti nel tuo libro i giorni che furono fissatiquando ancora non ne esisteva uno.
17 How hard for me to grasp your thoughts, how many, God, there are!	17 Quanto profondi per me i tuoi pensieri,quanto grande il loro numero, o Dio!
18 If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand; if I come to an end, I am stil with you.	18 Se volessi contarli, sono più della sabbia.Mi risveglio e sono ancora con te.
19 If only, God, you would kil the wicked!-Men of violence, keep away from me!-	19 Se tu, Dio, uccidessi i malvagi!Allontanatevi da me, uomini sanguinari!
20 those who speak blasphemously about you, and take no account of your thoughts.	20 Essi parlano contro di te con inganno,contro di te si alzano invano.
21 Yahweh, do I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who defy you?	21 Quanto odio, Signore, quelli che ti odiano!Quanto detesto quelli che si oppongono a te!
22 My hate for them has no limits, I regard them as my own enemies.	22 Li odio con odio implacabile,li considero miei nemici.
23 God, examine me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns.	23 Scrutami, o Dio, e conosci il mio cuore,provami e conosci i miei pensieri;
24 Make sure that I am not on my way to ruin, and guide me on the road of eternity.	24 vedi se percorro una via di doloree guidami per una via di eternità.
