NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 [For the choirmaster Of David Psalm] Yahweh, you examine me and know me,	1 Salmo di Davide dato al capo dei Musici. SIGNORE, tu mi hai investigato, e tu mi conosci.
2 you know when I sit, when I rise, you understand my thoughts from afar.	2 Tu vedi quando mi seggo, e quando mi alzo; Tu intendi da lungi il mio pensiero.
3 You watch when I walk or lie down, you know every detail of my conduct.	3 Tu aggiri i miei sentieri e il mio ricetto; E sei usato a tutte le mie vie.
4 A word is not yet on my tongue before you, Yahweh, know all about it.	4 Perciocchè non essendo ancora la parola sopra la mia lingua, Ecco, Signore, tu sai già il tutto.
5 You fence me in, behind and in front, you have laid your hand upon me.	5 Tu mi strigni dietro e davanti; E mi metti la mano addosso.
6 Such amazing knowledge is beyond me, a height to which I cannot attain.	6 La tua conoscenza è tanto maravigliosa che io non posso sottrarmene; E tanto eccelsa, che appo lei non posso nulla
7 Where shall I go to escape your spirit? Where shall I flee from your presence?	7 Dove me ne andrò d’innanzi al tuo Spirito? E dove me ne fuggirò dal tuo cospetto?
8 If I scale the heavens you are there, if I lie flat in Sheol, there you are.	8 Se io salgo in cielo, tu vi sei; E se mi metto a giacere ne’ luoghi bassi sotterra, eccoviti.
9 If I speed away on the wings of the dawn, if I dwel beyond the ocean,	9 Se prendo le ale dell’alba, E vo a dimorar nell’estremità del mare;
10 even there your hand will be guiding me, your right hand holding me fast.	10 Anche quivi mi condurrà la tua mano, E la tua destra mi prenderà.
11 I will say, 'Let the darkness cover me, and the night wrap itself around me,'	11 E se dico: Certo, le tenebre mi appiatteranno, La notte sarà luce d’intorno a me.
12 even darkness to you is not dark, and night is as clear as the day.	12 Le tenebre stesse non possono oscurarti nulla; Anzi la notte ti risplende come il giorno; E le tenebre e la luce ti son tutt’uno.
13 You created my inmost self, knit me together in my mother's womb.	13 Conciossiachè tu possegga le mie reni; Tu mi hai composto nel seno di mia madre.
14 For so many marvels I thank you; a wonder am I, and al your works are wonders. You knew methrough and through,	14 Io ti celebrerò; perciocchè io sono stato maravigliosamente formato In maniere stupende; Le tue opere son maravigliose, E l’anima mia lo sa molto bene.
15 my being held no secrets from you, when I was being formed in secret, textured in the depths of theearth.	15 La fabbrica delle mie ossa non ti fu celata, Quando io fui fatto in occulto, E lavorato nelle basse parti delle terra.
16 Your eyes could see my embryo. In your book all my days were inscribed, every one that was fixedis there.	16 I tuoi occhi videro la massa informe del mio corpo; E tutte queste cose erano scritte nel tuo libro, Nel tempo che si formavano, Quando niuna di esse era ancora
17 How hard for me to grasp your thoughts, how many, God, there are!	17 Oh! quanto mi sono, o Dio, preziosi i tuoi pensamenti! Quanto son grandi le somme di essi!
18 If I count them, they are more than the grains of sand; if I come to an end, I am stil with you.	18 Se io li voglio annoverare, sono in maggior numero che la rena; Quando io mi risveglio, io sono ancora teco.
19 If only, God, you would kil the wicked!-Men of violence, keep away from me!-	19 Certo, o Dio, tu ucciderai l’empio; Perciò, uomini di sangue, dipartitevi da me.
20 those who speak blasphemously about you, and take no account of your thoughts.	20 Perciocchè i tuoi nemici ti hanno nominato a scelleratezza; Hanno preso in bocca il tuo Nome in vano.
21 Yahweh, do I not hate those who hate you, and loathe those who defy you?	21 O Signore, non odio io quelli che t’odiano? E non mi accuoro io per quelli che si levano contro a te?
22 My hate for them has no limits, I regard them as my own enemies.	22 Io li odio d’un odio perfetto; Io li ho per nemici.
23 God, examine me and know my heart, test me and know my concerns.	23 O Dio, investigami, e conosci il mio cuore; Provami, e conosci i miei pensieri;
24 Make sure that I am not on my way to ruin, and guide me on the road of eternity.	24 E vedi se vi è in me alcuna via iniqua; E giudami per la via del mondo
