NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:	1 Questa è la discendenza dei figli di Noè: Sem, Cam e Iafet, ai quali nacquero dei figli, dopo il diluvio.
2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.	2 I figli di Iafet: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Iavan, Tubal, Mesech e Tiras.
3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.	3 I figli di Gomer: Askenaz, Rifat e Togarma.
4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.	4 I figli di Iavan: Elisa, Tarsis, quelli di Cipro e quelli di Rodi.
5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.	5 Da costoro si suddivisero le popolazioni delle isole delle genti. Questi furono i figli di Iafet nei loro territori, ciascuno secondo la sua lingua, secondo le loro famiglie, nelle loro diverse nazioni.
6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.	6 I figli di Cam: Etiopia, Egitto, Put e Canaan.
7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.	7 I figli di Etiopia: Seba, Avila, Sabta, Raama e Sàbteca. I figli di Raama: Saba e Dedan.
8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Ora Etiopia generò Nimrod: costui fu il primo a divenire potente nella regione.
9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.	9 Egli era un valente cacciatore al cospetto del Signore, perciò si suol dire: "Come Nimrod, valente cacciatore al cospetto del Signore".
10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Il nucleo del suo regno fu Babele, Uruch, Accad e Calne nella terra di Sennaar.
11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,	11 Di lì uscì in Assur e costruì Ninive, le piazze della città, Calach

19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.	19 Cosicché il confine dei Cananei fu da Sidone fino a Gerara e Gaza, poi fino a Sòdoma, Gomorra, Adma e Zeboim, fino a Lesa.
20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	20 Questi furono i figli di Cam secondo le loro famiglie e le loro lingue, nei loro territori e nelle loro diverse nazioni.
21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.	21 Anche a Sem, l'antenato di tutti i figli di Eber, fratello maggiore di Iafet, nacque una discendenza.
22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.	22 Figli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arpacsàd, Lud, Aram.

28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,	28 Obal, Abimaèl, Seba,
29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Avila e Iobab. Tutti questi furono figli di Ioktan.
30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.	30 La loro abitazione fu da Mesa fin verso Sefar, monte dell'oriente.
31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	31 Questi furono i figli di Sem secondo le loro famiglie e le loro lingue, nei loro territori, secondo le loro nazioni.
32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.	32 Queste furono le famiglie dei figli di Noè, secondo la loro genealogia nelle loro nazioni. Da esse si dispersero le nazioni sulla terra, dopo il diluvio.
