Genesis 10

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:	1 Los descendientes de los tres hijos de Noé, Sem, Cam y Jafet –que tuvieron hijos después del Diluvio– fueron los siguientes:
2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.	2 Los hijos de Jafet fueron Gómer, Magog, Madai, Javán, Tubal, Mésec y Tirás.
3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.	3 Los hijos de Gómer fueron Asquenaz, Rifat y Togarmá.
4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.	4 Los hijos de Javán fueron Elisá, Tarsis, los Quitím y los Rodaním.
5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.	5 Estos fueron los hijos de Jafet, y a partir de ellos, se expandieron las naciones marítimas por sus respectivos territorios, cada una con su lengua, sus clanes y sus nacionalidades.
6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.	6 Los hijos de Cam fueron Cus, Misraim, Put y Canaán.
7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.	7 Los hijos de Cus fueron Sebá, Javilá, Sabtá, Ramá y Sabtecá. Los hijos de Ramá fueron Sebá y Dedán.
8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Cus fue padre de Nemrod, que llegó a ser el primer guerrero sobre la tierra.
9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.	9 El fue un valiente cazador delante del Señor. Por eso se dice: «Valiente cazador delante del Señor como Nemrod».
10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Babilonia, Erec y Acad –todas ellas están en la región de Senaar– fueron el núcleo inicial de su reino.
11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,	11 De esa región salió para Asur, y edificó Nínive, con sus plazas urbanas, Calaj,
12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).	12 y Resen, entre Nínive y Calaj. Está última era la capital.
13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,	13 Misraim fue padre de los pobladores de Lud, Anam, Lehab, Naftuj,
14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.	14 Patrós y Casluj, y también de los pobladores de Caftor, de donde salieron los filisteos.
15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,	15 Canaán fue padre de Sidón, su primogénito, y de Het;
16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,	16 también de los jebuseos, de los amorreos, de los guirgasitas,
17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,	17 de los jivitas, de los arqueos, de los sineos,

19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.	19 y sus fronteras llegaron desde Sidón hasta Gaza por el camino de Guerar; y hasta Lesa, yendo hacia Sodoma, Gomorra, Admá y Seboím.
20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	20 Estos fueron los hijos de Cam, según sus clanes y sus lenguas, con sus respectivos territorios y nacionalidades.
21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.	21 También le nacieron hijos a Sem, el padre de todos los hijos de Eber y el hermano mayor de Jafet.
22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.	22 Los hijos de Sem fueron Elam, Asur, Arpaxad, Lud y Aram.
23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.	23 Los hijos de Aram fueron Us, Jul, Guéter y Mas.
24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.	24 Arpaxad fue padre de Sélaj y este fue padre de Eber.
25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.	25 Eber tuvo dos hijos: el nombre del primero era Péleg, porque en su tiempo se dividió la tierra. Su hermano se llamaba Ioctán.
26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,	26 Ioctán fue padre de Almodad, Sélef, Jasarmávet, Iéraj,
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,	27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diclá,
28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,	28 Obal, Abimael, Sebá,
29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Javilá y Iobab. Todos estos fueron hijos de Ioctán.
30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.	30 Los lugares donde residieron se extendían desde Mesa, en dirección a Sefar, hasta la montaña de Oriente.
31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	31 Estos fueron los hijos de Sem, según sus clanes y sus lenguas, con sus respectivos territorios y nacionalidades.
32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.	32 Estos fueron los clanes de los hijos de Noé, según sus orígenes y nacionalidades. A partir de ellos, las naciones se expandieron sobre la tierra después del Diluvio.
