NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:	1 Voici la descendance des fils de Noé: Sem, Kam et Japhet, lesquels engendrèrent des fils après le déluge.
2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.	2 Fils de Japhet: Gomer, Magog, les Mèdes, Yavan, Toubal, Méchek, Tiras.
3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.	3 Fils de Gomer: Achkénaz, Riphat, Togorma.
4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.	4 Fils de Yavan: Élicha, Tarsis, Kittim, les Dananéens.
5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.	5 C’est à partir d’eux que se fit la dispersion dans les îles lointaines. Ce sont là les fils de Japhet d’après leurs pays, selon leurs langues, leurs clans et leurs nations.
6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.	6 Fils de Kam: Kouch, Misraïm, Pout, Canaan.
7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.	7 Fils de Kouch: Séba, Havila, Sabta, Rama, Sabtéka. Fils de Rama: Chéba, Dédan.
8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Kouch engendra Nemrod qui fut le premier héros sur la terre.
9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.	9 C’était un vaillant chasseur devant Yahvé. C’est pour cela que l’on dit: “Vaillant chasseur devant Yahvé comme Nemrod.”
10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Ceux qui soutenaient son empire étaient: Babel, Érek, et Akkad. Toutes ces villes sont au pays de Chinéar.
11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,	11 De ce pays sortit Assur, c’est lui qui construisit Ninive, Réhobot-Ir, Kala
12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).	12 et Résèn entre Ninive et Kala (c’est une grande ville).
13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,	13 Misraïm engendra les gens de Loud, d’Anam, de Léhab, de Naftou,
14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.	14 de Patros, de Kaslou et de Kaftor, d’où sont sortis les Philistins.
15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,	15 Canaan engendra Sidon qui fut son premier-né, puis Heth,
16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,	16 et le Jébusite, l’Amorite, le Guirgachite,
17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,	17 le Hivvite, l’Arkite, le Sinite,
18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.	18 l’Arvadite, le Sémarite, le Hamatite. Ensuite les clans Cananéens se dispersèrent.
19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.	19 La frontière des Cananéens partait de Sidon vers Guérar jusqu’à Gaza, et vers Sodome, Gomorrhe, Adma et Séboyim jusqu’à Lécha.
20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	20 Ce sont là les fils de Kam, selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations.
21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.	21 Sem eut également une descendance. Il est l’ancêtre de tous les fils de Éber et le frère aîné de Japhet.
22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.	22 Fils de Sem: Élam, Assur, Arpakchad, Loud, Aram.
23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.	23 Fils d’Aram: Ous, Houl, Guéter et Mach.
24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.	24 Arpakchad engendra Chéla et Chéla engendra Éber.
25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.	25 Éber eut deux fils. Le premier s’appelait Péleg, c’est en son temps que la terre fut divisée. Son frère s’appelait Yoktan.
26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,	26 Yoktan engendra Almodad, Chélef, Assarmavet, Yéra,
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,	27 Adoram, Ouzal, Dikla,
28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,	28 Obal, Abimaël, Chéba,
29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Havila, Yobab. Ce sont là tous les fils de Yoktan.
30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.	30 Ils habitaient à partir de Mécha en allant vers Séfar, la montagne de l’Orient.
31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	31 Ce sont les fils de Sem selon leurs clans et leurs langues, leurs pays et leurs nations.
32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.	32 Voilà les descendants de Noé selon leurs lignées et leurs nations. C’est à partir d’eux que les peuples se dispersèrent sur la terre après le déluge.
