1 These are the descendants of Noah's sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, to whom sons were born afterthe flood:	1 - Questa è la discendenza di Sem, Cam e Iafet, figli di Noè; nacquero ad essi dei figli dopo il diluvio.
2 Japheth's sons: Gomer, Magog, the Medes, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, Tiras.	2 Figli di Iafet furono: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Iavan, Tubal, Mosoc e Tiras.
3 Gomer's sons: Ashkenaz, Riphath, Togarmah.	3 Figli di Gomer: Ascenez, Rifat e Togorma.
4 Javan's sons: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittim, the Dananites.	4 Figli di Iavan: Elisa e Tarsis, Cettim e Dodanim.
5 From these came the dispersal to the islands of the nations. These were Japheth's sons, in theirrespective countries, each with its own language, by clan and nation.	5 Si divisero questi le isole delle genti nelle proprie regioni, ciascuno secondo la sua lingua, le sue famiglie, la sua nazione.
6 Ham's sons: Cush, Mizraim, Put, Canaan.	6 Figli di Cam: Cus, Mesraim, Fut e Canaan.
7 Cush's sons: Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca. Raamah's sons: Sheba, Dedan.	7 Figli di Cus: Saba, Hevila, Sabata, Regma e Sabataca. Figli di Regma: Saba e Dadan.
8 Cush fathered Nimrod who was the first potentate on earth.	8 Cus poi generò Nemrod; questi fu il primo che divenne potente sulla terra,
9 He was a mighty hunter in the eyes of Yahweh, hence the saying, 'Like Nimrod, a mighty hunter in theeyes of Yahweh'.	9 ed era forte cacciatore innanzi al Signore. Perciò n'è venuto il proverbio: «Cacciatore forte come Nemrod innanzi al Signore».
10 The mainstays of his empire were Babel, Erech and Accad, all of them in the land of Shinar.	10 Il suo regno fu da principio Babilonia, Arac, Acad e Calanne, nella terra di Sennaar.
11 From this country came Asshur, and he built Nineveh, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah,	11 Da quella terra uscì in Assur, e vi edificò Ninive e le piazze della città, e Cale;
12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (this being the capital).	12 poi ancora Resen fra Ninive e Cale, ed è una gran città.
13 Mizraim fathered the people of Lud, of Anam, Lehab, Naphtuh,	13 Mesraim poi originò Ludim, Anamim, Laabim, Neftuim,
14 Pathros, Casluh and Caphtor, from which the Philistines came.	14 Fetrusim e Casluim, dei quali derivarono Filistiim e Caftorim.
15 Canaan fathered Sidon, his first-born, then Heth,	15 Canaan poi generò Sidone suo primogenito, l'Heteo,
16 and the Jebusites, the Amorites, Girgashites,	16 il Jebuseo, l'Amorreo, il Gergeseo,
17 Hivites, Arkites, Sinites,	17 l'Heveo, l'Araceo, il Sineo,
18 Arvadites, Zemarites and Hamathites. Later, the Canaanite clans spread out.	18 l'Aradeo, il Samareo e l'Amateo; poi si dispersero i popoli Cananei.
19 The Canaanite frontier stretched from Sidon al the way to Gerar near Gaza, and al the way toSodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboi m near Lesha.	19 Ed i confini dei Cananei furono: da Sidone venendo verso Gerara, sino a Gaza; e venendo verso Sodoma, Gomorra, Adama e Seboim sino a Lesa.
20 These were Ham's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	20 Questi sono i figli di Cam, nelle loro parentele, lingue, generazioni, terre e genti.
21 Shem too fathered sons, being ancestor of all the sons of Eber and Japheth's elder brother.	21 Da Sem poi, stipite di tutta la discendenza di Heber, e fratello maggiore di Iafet, nacquero pure dei figli.
22 Shem's sons: Elam, Asshur, Arpachshad, Lud, Aram.	22 Figli di Sem: Elam, Assur, Arfaad, Lud e Aram.
23 Aram's sons: Uz, Hul, Gether and Mash.	23 Figli di Aram: Us, Hul, Geter e Mes.
24 Arpachshad fathered Shelah, and Shelah fathered Eber.	24 Arfaad poi generò Sale, dal quale nacque Heber.
25 To Eber were born two sons: the first was cal ed Peleg, because it was in his time that the earth wasdivided, and his brother was called Joktan.	25 Nacquero poi ad Heber due figli; il nome di uno fu Faleg, perchè a' suoi giorni la terra fu spartita; e il nome del fratello, Iectan.
26 Joktan fathered Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,	26 Il quale Iectan generò Elmodad, Salef, Asarmot, Iare,
27 Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,	27 Aduram, Uzal, Decla,
28 Obal, Abima-El, Sheba,	28 Ebal, Abimael, Saba,
29 Ophir, Havilah, Jobab; al these were sons of Joktan.	29 Ofir, Hevila e Iobab; tutti questi figli di Iectam.
30 They occupied a stretch of country from Mesha all the way to Sephar, the eastern mountain range.	30 La regione da essi abitata s'estendeva da Messa fino al monte orientale di Sefar.
31 These were Shem's sons, by clans and languages, by countries and nations.	31 Questi sono i figli di Sem, secondo le loro famiglie, lingue, regioni, e genti.
32 Such were the clans of Noah's descendants, listed by descent and nation. From them, other nationsbranched out on earth after the flood.	32 Son queste le discendenze da Noè, secondo i loro popoli e nazioni. Da esse si diramarono sulla terra le genti, dopo il diluvio.
