¹ Of David. I wait for you, O LORD; I lift up my soul	¹ Salmo di Davide O SIGNORE, io levo l’anima mia a te.
² to my God. In you I trust; do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me.	² Dio mio, io mi confido in te; fa’ che io non sia confuso, E che i miei nemici non facciano festa di me.
³ No one is disgraced who waits for you, but only those who lightly break faith.	³ Ed anche che niuno di quelli che sperano in te sia confuso; Sien confusi quelli che si portano dislealmente senza cagione.
⁴ Make known to me your ways, LORD; teach me your paths.	⁴ Signore, fammi conoscere le tue vie; Insegnami i tuoi sentieri.
⁵ Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of your goodness, LORD.	⁵ Inviami nella tua verità, ed ammaestrami; Perciocchè tu sei l’Iddio della mia salute; Io ti attendo tuttodì.
⁶ Remember your compassion and love, O LORD; for they are ages old.	⁶ Ricordati, Signore, delle tue compassioni, e delle tue benignità; Perciocchè sono ab eterno.
⁷ Remember no more the sins of my youth; remember me only in light of your love.	⁷ Non ridurti a memoria i peccati della mia giovanezza, Nè i miei misfatti; Secondo la tua benignità, ricordati di me, O Signore, per amore della tua bontà
⁸ Good and upright is the LORD, who shows sinners the way,	⁸ Il Signore è buono e diritto; Perciò egli insegnerà la via a’ peccatori.
⁹ Guides the humble rightly, and teaches the humble the way.	⁹ Egli invierà i mansueti nella dirittura, Ed insegnerà la sua via agli umili.
¹⁰ All the paths of the LORD are faithful love toward those who honor the covenant demands.	¹⁰ Tutte le vie del Signore son benignità e verità, Inverso quelli che guardano il suo patto e le sue testimonianze.
¹¹ For the sake of your name, LORD, pardon my guilt, though it is great.	¹¹ O Signore, per amor del tuo Nome, Perdonami la mia iniquità; perciocchè ella è grande.
¹² Who are those who fear the LORD? God shows them the way to choose.	¹² Chi è l’uomo che tema il Signore? Egli gl’insegnerà la via ch’egli deve eleggere.
¹³ They live well and prosper, and their descendants inherit the land.	¹³ L’anima sua dimorerà per mezzo i beni, E la sua progenie erederà la terra.
¹⁴ The counsel of the LORD belongs to the faithful; the covenant instructs them.	¹⁴ Il Signore dà a conoscere il suo consiglio ed il suo patto A quelli che lo temono
¹⁵ My eyes are ever upon the LORD, who frees my feet from the snare.	¹⁵ I miei occhi son del continuo verso il Signore; Perciocchè egli trarrà i miei piedi della rete.
¹⁶ Look upon me, have pity on me, for I am alone and afflicted.	¹⁶ Riguarda a me, ed abbi pietà di me; Perciocchè io son solo ed afflitto.
¹⁷ Relieve the troubles of my heart; bring me out of my distress.	¹⁷ Le angosce del mio cuore si sono aumentate; Trammi delle mie distrette.
¹⁸ Put an end to my affliction and suffering; take away all my sins.	¹⁸ Vedi la mia afflizione ed il mio affanno; E perdonami tutti i miei peccati.
¹⁹ See how many are my enemies, see how fiercely they hate me.	¹⁹ Vedi i miei nemici; perciocchè son molti, E mi odiano d’un odio pieno di violenza.
²⁰ Preserve my life and rescue me; do not let me be disgraced, for I trust in you.	²⁰ Guarda l’anima mia, e riscuotimi; Fa’ che io non sia confuso; perciocchè io mi confido in te.
²¹ Let honesty and virtue preserve me; I wait for you, O LORD.	²¹ L’integrità e la dirittura mi guardino; Perciocchè io ho sperato in te.
²² Redeem Israel, God, from all its distress!	²² O Dio, riscuoti Israele da tutte le sue tribolazioni
