NEW AMERICAN BIBLEKING JAMES BIBLE
Of David. I wait for you, O LORD; I lift up my soul1 Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.
to my God. In you I trust; do not let me be disgraced; do not let my enemies gloat over me.2 O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.
No one is disgraced who waits for you, but only those who lightly break faith.3 Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
Make known to me your ways, LORD; teach me your paths.4 Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my savior. For you I wait all the long day, because of your goodness, LORD.5 Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
Remember your compassion and love, O LORD; for they are ages old.6 Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.
Remember no more the sins of my youth; remember me only in light of your love.7 Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD.
Good and upright is the LORD, who shows sinners the way,8 Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way.
Guides the humble rightly, and teaches the humble the way.9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
All the paths of the LORD are faithful love toward those who honor the covenant demands.10 All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies.
For the sake of your name, LORD, pardon my guilt, though it is great.11 For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great.
Who are those who fear the LORD? God shows them the way to choose.12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
They live well and prosper, and their descendants inherit the land.13 His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth.
The counsel of the LORD belongs to the faithful; the covenant instructs them.14 The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant.
My eyes are ever upon the LORD, who frees my feet from the snare.15 Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net.
Look upon me, have pity on me, for I am alone and afflicted.16 Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted.
Relieve the troubles of my heart; bring me out of my distress.17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses.
Put an end to my affliction and suffering; take away all my sins.18 Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins.
See how many are my enemies, see how fiercely they hate me.19 Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred.
Preserve my life and rescue me; do not let me be disgraced, for I trust in you.20 O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee.
Let honesty and virtue preserve me; I wait for you, O LORD.21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee.
Redeem Israel, God, from all its distress!22 Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.
