Psalms 106

1 Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever.	1 - Alleluia! Celebrate il Signore, perch'egli è buono, perchè in eterno sta la sua grazia!
2 Who can tell the mighty deeds of the LORD, proclaim in full God's praise?	2 Dican [così] i redenti dal Signore, ch'egli ha redento dalla mano del nemico, e da [tutte] le regioni gli ha raccolti,
3 Happy those who do what is right, whose deeds are always just.	3 dall'oriente e dall'occidente, dal settentrione e dal mare.
4 Remember me, LORD, as you favor your people; come to me with your saving help,	4 Erravan nella solitudine, nel deserto, la via d'una città dove abitare non trovavano.
5 That I may see the prosperity of your chosen, rejoice in the joy of your people, and glory with your heritage.	5 Affamati e assetati, l'anima loro veniva meno in essi.
6 We have sinned like our ancestors; we have done wrong and are guilty.	6 E gridarono al Signore nella loro tribolazione, e dalle angustie loro gli strappò.
7 Our ancestors in Egypt did not attend to your wonders. They did not remember your great love; they defied the Most High at the Red Sea.	7 E li menò per la retta via, perchè giungessero a una città dove abitare.
8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake to make his power known.	8 Celebrino il Signore [per] le sue misericordie e [per] i suoi portenti a pro dei figliuoli degli uomini!
9 He roared at the Red Sea and it dried up. He led them through the deep as through a desert.	9 Perchè egli ha saziato l'anima assetata, e l'anima affamata ha ricolma di beni.
10 He rescued them from hostile hands, freed them from the power of the enemy.	10 Sedevan nelle tenebre e all'ombra della morte, prigionieri nella miseria e ne' ferri;
11 The waters covered their oppressors; not one of them survived.	11 perchè s'eran ribellati agli ordini di Dioe il disegno dell'Altissimo avevan sdegnato.
12 Then they believed his words and sang songs of praise.	12 E fu umiliato ne' travagli il cuor loro, furono affranti, nè ci fu chi li soccorresse.
13 But they soon forgot all he had done; they had no patience for his plan.	13 E gridarono al Signore nella loro tribolazione, e dalle angustie loro li liberò.
14 In the desert they gave way to their cravings, tempted God in the wasteland.	14 E li trasse fuori dalle tenebre e dall'ombra della morte e spezzò le loro catene.
15 So he gave them what they asked and sent among them a wasting disease.	15 Celebrino il Signore [per] le sue misericordie e [per] i suoi portenti a pro dei figliuoli degli uomini!
16 In the camp they challenged Moses and Aaron, the holy one of the LORD.	16 Perchè egli ha infrante le porte di bronzo, e i chiavistelli di ferro ha spezzato.
17 The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, it closed on the followers of Abiram.	17 Stolti, che a seconda della loro via iniquae delle loro ingiustizie eran straziati.
18 Against that company the fire blazed; flames consumed the wicked.	18 Ogni cibo aveva a nausea l'anima loroed eran vicini già alle porte della morte.
19 At Horeb they fashioned a calf, worshiped a metal statue.	19 E gridarono al Signore nella loro tribolazione, e dalle angustie loro li liberò.
20 They exchanged their glorious God for the image of a grass-eating bull.	20 Mandò la sua parola e li guarì, e gli strappò dalle consunzioni loro.
21 They forgot the God who saved them, who did great deeds in Egypt,	21 Celebrino il Signore [per] le sue misericordie e [per] i suoi portenti a pro dei figliuoli degli uomini!
22 Amazing deeds in the land of Ham, fearsome deeds at the Red Sea.	22 E offrano un sacrifizio di lode e raccontino le sue opere con giubilo.
23 He would have decreed their destruction, had not Moses, the chosen leader, Withstood him in the breach to turn back his destroying anger.	23 Solcando il mare sulle navi, facendo traffico sulle molte acque,
24 Next they despised the beautiful land; they did not believe the promise.	24 essi videro le opere del Signore e i suoi portenti nell'[abisso] profondo!
25 In their tents they complained; they did not obey the LORD.	25 E' parlò, e infuriò un vento turbinoso, e si sollevarono i flutti del mare.
26 So with raised hand he swore to destroy them in the desert,	26 Salivano sino al cielo e si sprofondavan giù nell'abisso, e l'anima loro nell'affanno si struggeva.
27 To scatter their descendants among the nations, disperse them in foreign lands.	27 Vacillavano e barcollavano come un ubriaco, e tutta la perizia loro era sfumata.
28 They joined in the rites of Baal of Peor, ate food sacrificed to dead gods.	28 E gridarono al Signore nella loro tribolazione, e dalle angustie loro li trasse fuori.
29 They provoked him by their actions, and a plague broke out among them.	29 E ridusse il turbine a un lieve venticello, e si chetarono i flutti del mare.
30 Then Phinehas rose to intervene, and the plague was brought to a halt.	30 E si rallegraron quelli che si fosser chetati, ed e' li condusse al porto del loro desiderio.
31 This was counted for him as a righteous deed for all generations to come.	31 Celebrino il Signore [per] le sue misericordie e [per] i suoi portenti a pro dei figliuoli degli uomini!
32 At the waters of Meribah they angered God, and Moses suffered because of them.	32 E l'esaltino nell'adunanza del popoloe nel consesso degli anziani lo lodino.
33 They so embittered his spirit that rash words crossed his lips.	33 Egli mutò i fiumi in desertoe le fonti d'acque in assetata steppa,
34 They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,	34 [e] la terra fruttifera in una salina, per la malvagità de' suoi abitanti.
35 But mingled with the nations and imitated their ways.	35 Mutò il deserto in uno stagno d'acque, e la terra arida in fonti d'acque.
36 They worshiped their idols and were ensnared by them.	36 E stabilì colà gli affamati, e vi fondarono una città da abitare.
37 They sacrificed to the gods their own sons and daughters,	37 E seminarono campi e piantaron vigne, e n'ebber frutto di raccolta.
38 Shedding innocent blood, the blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed.	38 E li benedisse e si moltiplicarono oltremodo, e i loro bestiami non scemò.
39 They defiled themselves by their actions, became adulterers by their conduct.	39 [Quando poi] si ridussero a pochi e furon tormentatida tribolazione di mali e dal dolore,
40 So the LORD grew angry with his people, abhorred his own heritage.	40 e' riversò il dispregio sui grandi [che gli opprimevano] e li fece errare per la solitudine, là dove non c'è strada,
41 He handed them over to the nations, and their adversaries ruled them.	41 e aiutò il povero [a risollevarsi] dalla miseriae fece [numerose] come greggi le famiglie.
42 Their enemies oppressed them, kept them under subjection.	42 Vedranno [ciò] i retti e si rallegrerannoe ogni iniquità si tapperà la bocca.
43 Many times did he rescue them, but they kept rebelling and scheming and were brought low by their own guilt.	43 Chi è savio? ch'e' badi a queste cose, e intenda le misericordie del Signore!
44 Still God had regard for their affliction when he heard their wailing.
45 For their sake he remembered his covenant and relented in his abundant love,
46 Winning for them compassion from all who held them captive.
47 Save us, LORD, our God; gather us from among the nations That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you.
48 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Let all the people say, Amen! Hallelujah!
