1 Hallelujah! Give thanks to the LORD, who is good, whose love endures forever.	1 ALLELUJA! Áldjátok az Urat, mert jó, mert irgalma örökkévaló.
2 Who can tell the mighty deeds of the LORD, proclaim in full God's praise?	2 Ki tudná elmondani az Úr nagy tetteit, ki tudná elbeszélni minden dicső művét?
3 Happy those who do what is right, whose deeds are always just.	3 Boldogok, akik megtartják a törvényt, és mindenkor az igazat cselekszik!
4 Remember me, LORD, as you favor your people; come to me with your saving help,	4 Gondolj ránk, Uram, néped iránti jókedvvel, látogass meg minket szabadításoddal,
5 That I may see the prosperity of your chosen, rejoice in the joy of your people, and glory with your heritage.	5 hadd lássuk választottaid jólétét, hadd örvendjünk nemzeted örömének, hadd dicsekedjünk örökségeddel.
6 We have sinned like our ancestors; we have done wrong and are guilty.	6 Vétkeztünk, mint ahogy atyáink, igaztalanul cselekedtünk, gonoszságot követtünk el.
7 Our ancestors in Egypt did not attend to your wonders. They did not remember your great love; they defied the Most High at the Red Sea.	7 Atyáink Egyiptomban nem értették meg csodáidat, nem fogták fel nagy irgalmadat, lázadoztak, amikor a tengerhez, a Vörös-tengerhez jutottak.
8 Yet he saved them for his name's sake to make his power known.	8 De ő megmentette őket nevéért, hogy megismertesse hatalmát.
9 He roared at the Red Sea and it dried up. He led them through the deep as through a desert.	9 Megfenyegette a Vörös-tengert és az kiszáradt, és mint valami sivatagban, átvezette őket a mélységek között.
10 He rescued them from hostile hands, freed them from the power of the enemy.	10 Megmentette őket gyűlölőik kezéből, ellenségeik kezéből megszabadította őket.
11 The waters covered their oppressors; not one of them survived.	11 Víz borította el szorongatóikat, egy sem maradt életben közülük.

17 The earth opened and swallowed Dathan, it closed on the followers of Abiram.	17 Erre megnyílt a föld, elnyelte Dátánt, s elborította Abiron csoportját.
18 Against that company the fire blazed; flames consumed the wicked.	18 Tűz gyulladt fel gyülekezetükben, láng égette el a bűnösöket.
19 At Horeb they fashioned a calf, worshiped a metal statue.	19 A Hórebnél borjút készítettek, és az öntött képet imádták.
20 They exchanged their glorious God for the image of a grass-eating bull.	20 Dicsőségüket fölcserélték a füvet evő bika képével.
21 They forgot the God who saved them, who did great deeds in Egypt,	21 Elfeledték Istent, aki megszabadította őket, aki nagy dolgokat művelt Egyiptomban,
22 Amazing deeds in the land of Ham, fearsome deeds at the Red Sea.	22 csodákat Kám földjén, félelmetes dolgokat a Vörös-tengeren.
23 He would have decreed their destruction, had not Moses, the chosen leader, Withstood him in the breach to turn back his destroying anger.	23 El is határozta volna, hogy elpusztítja őket, ha választottja, Mózes, nem állt volna résen, hogy elhárítsa haragját, nehogy megsemmisítse őket.

25 In their tents they complained; they did not obey the LORD.	25 Zúgolódtak sátraikban, nem hallgattak az Úr szavára.
26 So with raised hand he swore to destroy them in the desert,	26 Erre ő fölemelte kezét ellenük, hogy lesújtson rájuk a sivatagban,
27 To scatter their descendants among the nations, disperse them in foreign lands.	27 s a nemzetek közé szórja utódaikat, és elszélessze őket az országokban.
28 They joined in the rites of Baal of Peor, ate food sacrificed to dead gods.	28 Majd Baál-Peorhoz pártoltak, és holt bálványoknak bemutatott áldozatokat ettek.
29 They provoked him by their actions, and a plague broke out among them.	29 Cselekedeteikkel haragra ingerelték őt, és romlás tört rájuk.
30 Then Phinehas rose to intervene, and the plague was brought to a halt.	30 De Fineesz előállt, ítéletet tartott, és a csapásnak vége lett.
31 This was counted for him as a righteous deed for all generations to come.	31 Ezt ő érdeméül számította be neki, nemzedékről nemzedékre, örökre.
32 At the waters of Meribah they angered God, and Moses suffered because of them.	32 Majd Meriba vizeinél ingerelték haragra, és miattuk Mózes is bajba jutott,
33 They so embittered his spirit that rash words crossed his lips.	33 mert elkeserítették lelkét, s ő meggondolatlanul beszélt szájával.
34 They did not destroy the peoples as the LORD had commanded them,	34 Nem irtották ki azokat a nemzeteket, amelyeket az Úr mondott nekik.
35 But mingled with the nations and imitated their ways.	35 Sőt a nemzetek közé vegyültek, eltanulták cselekedeteiket,
36 They worshiped their idols and were ensnared by them.	36 bálványaiknak szolgáltak, s ez vesztükre lett.
37 They sacrificed to the gods their own sons and daughters,	37 Feláldozták fiaikat és leányaikat a gonosz szellemeknek.
38 Shedding innocent blood, the blood of their own sons and daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the idols of Canaan, desecrating the land with bloodshed.	38 Ártatlan vért ontottak, fiaik és leányaik vérét, akiket Kánaán bálványainak áldoztak. Megfertőzték a vérrel az országot,
39 They defiled themselves by their actions, became adulterers by their conduct.	39 tisztátalanná lettek cselekedeteikben, paráznákká tetteikben.
40 So the LORD grew angry with his people, abhorred his own heritage.	40 Ekkor az Úr haragra gerjedt népe ellen, és megutálta örökségét.
41 He handed them over to the nations, and their adversaries ruled them.	41 A nemzetek kezébe adta őket, és gyűlölőik uralkodtak rajtuk.
42 Their enemies oppressed them, kept them under subjection.	42 Ellenségeik sanyargatták őket, s ők megaláztatást szenvedtek kezük alatt.
43 Many times did he rescue them, but they kept rebelling and scheming and were brought low by their own guilt.	43 Gyakran megszabadította őket, de ők csak ingerelték szándékaikkal, s elmerültek gonoszságukban.
44 Still God had regard for their affliction when he heard their wailing.	44 De ő meglátta, amikor nyomorogtak, és meghallgatta kiáltásukat.
45 For their sake he remembered his covenant and relented in his abundant love,	45 Megemlékezett szövetségéről, és nagy irgalmában megszánta őket.
46 Winning for them compassion from all who held them captive.	46 Irgalmat szerzett nekik mindazoknál, akik fogságba hurcolták őket.
47 Save us, LORD, our God; gather us from among the nations That we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in praising you.	47 Szabadíts meg minket, Urunk, Istenünk, és gyűjts össze minket a nemzetek közül, hogy hálát adhassunk szent nevednek, és dicsekedhessünk dicséreteddel.
48 Blessed be the LORD, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting! Let all the people say, Amen! Hallelujah!	48 Áldott legyen az Úr, Izrael Istene, öröktől fogva mindörökre! És mondja az egész nép: »Ámen! Ámen!«
