1 Das Wort, das an Jeremia erging für alle Judäer, die in Ägypten wohnten und sich in Migdol und Tachpanhes, in Memfis und im Land Patros angesiedelt hatten:	1 The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the Jews that dwelt in the land of Egypt, at Migdol, at Tahpanhes, at Memphis, and in the land of Pathros,
2 So spricht der Herr der Heere, der Gott Israels: Ihr selbst habt all das Unheil miterlebt, das ich über Jerusalem und alle Städte Judas gebracht habe. Seht, heute sind sie Trümmerstätten, die niemand mehr bewohnt.	2 "Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You have seen all the evil that I brought upon Jerusalem and upon all the cities of Judah. Behold, this day they are a desolation, and no one dwells in them,
3 Das ist die Folge ihrer bösen Taten; sie erzürnten mich, indem sie hingingen, um anderen Göttern, die sie früher nicht kannten, zu opfern und zu dienen, sie, ihr und eure Väter.	3 because of the wickedness which they committed, provoking me to anger, in that they went to burn incense and serve other gods that they knew not, neither they, nor you, nor your fathers.
4 Wohl habe ich immer wieder all meine Knechte, die Propheten, zu euch gesandt mit der Mahnung: Verübt doch nicht einen solchen Gräuel, den ich so hasse.	4 Yet I persistently sent to you all my servants the prophets, saying, Oh, do not do this abominable thing that I hate!'
5 Sie aber haben nicht gehört und mir ihr Ohr nicht zugeneigt, sodass sie sich von ihrer Bosheit bekehrt und nicht mehr anderen Göttern geopfert hätten.	5 But they did not listen or incline their ear, to turn from their wickedness and burn no incense to other gods.
6 Daher ergoss sich mein Grimm und Zorn und wütete in den Städten Judas und in den Straßen Jerusalems, sodass sie zur Trümmerstätte und Wüste wurden, wie sie es heute noch sind.	6 Therefore my wrath and my anger were poured forth and kindled in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; and they became a waste and a desolation, as at this day.
7 Nun aber spricht so der Herr, der Gott der Heere, der Gott Israels: Warum tut ihr euch selbst so schweres Leid an, indem ihr eure Männer und Frauen, Kinder und Säuglinge aus Juda ausrottet und keinen Rest mehr übrig lasst?	7 And now thus says the LORD God of hosts, the God of Israel: Why do you commit this great evil against yourselves, to cut off from you man and woman, infant and child, from the midst of Judah, leaving you no remnant?
8 Denn ihr erzürnt mich durch das Tun eurer Hände, weil ihr anderen Göttern opfert in Ägypten, wohin ihr ausgewandert seid, um euch dort niederzulassen. So rottet ihr euch selbst aus und werdet zum Fluch und Gespött bei allen Völkern der Erde.	8 Why do you provoke me to anger with the works of your hands, burning incense to other gods in the land of Egypt where you have come to live, that you may be cut off and become a curse and a taunt among all the nations of the earth?
9 Habt ihr denn all das Böse vergessen, das eure Väter und die Könige von Juda und ihre Frauen, dann auch ihr selbst und eure Frauen im Land Juda und in den Straßen Jerusalems getan haben?	9 Have you forgotten the wickedness of your fathers, the wickedness of the kings of Judah, the wickedness of their wives, your own wickedness, and the wickedness of your wives, which they committed in the land of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem?
10 Sie bereuen es nicht bis zum heutigen Tag, fürchten sich nicht und leben nicht nach meiner Weisung und nach meinen Gesetzen, die ich euch und euren Vätern vorgelegt habe.	10 They have not humbled themselves even to this day, nor have they feared, nor walked in my law and my statutes which I set before you and before your fathers.
11 Darum - so spricht der Herr der Heere, der Gott Israels: Seht, ich richte mein Angesicht gegen euch zu eurem Unheil, um ganz Juda auszurotten.	11 "Therefore thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will set my face against you for evil, to cut off all Judah.
12 Ich raffe den Rest Judas hinweg, der darauf bestand, nach Ägypten auszuwandern, um sich dort niederzulassen. Sie alle werden in Ägypten umkommen; sie werden fallen durch Schwert und Hunger; Klein und Groß wird umkommen. Durch Schwert und Hunger werden sie sterben und zum Fluch und zu einem Bild des Entsetzens werden, zur Verwünschung und zur Schmach.	12 I will take the remnant of Judah who have set their faces to come to the land of Egypt to live, and they shall all be consumed; in the land of Egypt they shall fall; by the sword and by famine they shall be consumed; from the least to the greatest, they shall die by the sword and by famine; and they shall become an execration, a horror, a curse, and a taunt.
13 Wie ich Jerusalem heimgesucht habe, so suche ich die in Ägypten Angesiedelten heim mit Schwert, Hunger und Pest.	13 I will punish those who dwell in the land of Egypt, as I have punished Jerusalem, with the sword, with famine, and with pestilence,
14 Vom Rest Judas, der ausgewandert ist, um sich hier in Ägypten niederzulassen, wird niemand entrinnen oder entkommen, um ins Land Juda zurückzukehren, obwohl sie sich danach sehnen, zurückzukehren und dort zu bleiben. Ja, nur wenige werden entrinnen und zurückkehren.	14 so that none of the remnant of Judah who have come to live in the land of Egypt shall escape or survive or return to the land of Judah, to which they desire to return to dwell there; for they shall not return, except some fugitives."
15 Da antworteten alle Männer, die wussten, dass ihre Frauen anderen Göttern opferten, und alle Frauen, die dabeistanden, eine große Schar, sowie alle Leute, die in Ägypten und in Patros wohnten, dem Jeremia:	15 Then all the men who knew that their wives had offered incense to other gods, and all the women who stood by, a great assembly, all the people who dwelt in Pathros in the land of Egypt, answered Jeremiah:
16 Was das Wort betrifft, das du im Namen des Herrn zu uns gesprochen hast, so hören wir nicht auf dich.	16 "As for the word which you have spoken to us in the name of the LORD, we will not listen to you.
17 Vielmehr werden wir alles, was wir gelobt haben, gewissenhaft ausführen: Wir werden der Himmelskönigin Rauchopfer und Trankopfer darbringen, wie wir, unsere Väter, unsere Könige und unsere Großen in den Städten Judas und in den Straßen Jerusalems es getan haben. Damals hatten wir Brot genug; es ging uns gut und wir litten keine Not.	17 But we will do everything that we have vowed, burn incense to the queen of heaven and pour out libations to her, as we did, both we and our fathers, our kings and our princes, in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem; for then we had plenty of food, and prospered, and saw no evil.
18 Seit wir aber aufgehört haben, der Himmelskönigin Rauchopfer und Trankopfer darzubringen, fehlt es uns an allem und wir kommen durch Schwert und Hunger um.	18 But since we left off burning incense to the queen of heaven and pouring out libations to her, we have lacked everything and have been consumed by the sword and by famine."
19 Die Frauen aber sagten: Geschieht es etwa ohne Wissen und Willen unserer Männer, dass wir der Himmelskönigin Rauchopfer und Trankopfer darbringen, dass wir für sie Opferkuchen bereiten, die ihr Bild wiedergeben, und Trankopfer spenden?	19 And the women said, "When we burned incense to the queen of heaven and poured out libations to her, was it without our husbands' approval that we made cakes for her bearing her image and poured out libations to her?"
20 Jeremia entgegnete dem ganzen Volk, den Männern, den Frauen und allen, die ihm so geantwortet hatten:	20 Then Jeremiah said to all the people, men and women, all the people who had given him this answer:
21 Die Opfer, die ihr in den Städten Judas und auf den Straßen Jerusalems verbrannt habt, ihr und eure Väter, eure Könige und eure Großen und die Bürger des Landes - waren nicht gerade sie es, an die der Herr gedacht und sich erinnert hat?	21 "As for the incense that you burned in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, you and your fathers, your kings and your princes, and the people of the land, did not the LORD remember it? Did it not come into his mind?
22 Schließlich konnte es der Herr nicht mehr aushalten wegen eurer Untaten und wegen der Gräuel, die ihr verübt habt. Deshalb wurde euer Land zur Öde, zu einem Bild des Entsetzens und zum Fluch, unbewohnt, wie es heute noch ist.	22 The LORD could no longer bear your evil doings and the abominations which you committed; therefore your land has become a desolation and a waste and a curse, without inhabitant, as it is this day.
23 Weil ihr Rauchopfer dargebracht und gegen den Herrn gesündigt habt, weil ihr auf die Stimme des Herrn nicht gehört und euch nicht nach seiner Weisung, seinen Gesetzen und Mahnungen gerichtet habt, darum hat euch dieses Unheil getroffen, wie es heute noch besteht.	23 It is because you burned incense, and because you sinned against the LORD and did not obey the voice of the LORD or walk in his law and in his statutes and in his testimonies, that this evil has befallen you, as at this day."
24 Zum ganzen Volk und zu allen Frauen sagte Jeremia: Hört das Wort des Herrn, ganz Juda, das in Ägypten weilt.	24 Jeremiah said to all the people and all the women, "Hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who are in the land of Egypt,
25 So spricht der Herr der Heere, der Gott Israels: Was ihr und eure Frauen mit dem Mund gelobt, das führt ihr mit den Händen aus. Ihr sagt: Unsere versprochenen Gelübde werden wir gewissenhaft erfüllen und der Himmelskönigin Rauchopfer und Trankopfer darbringen. Haltet nur eure Gelübde genau, ja, eure Gelübde erfüllt gewissenhaft!	25 Thus says the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel: You and your wives have declared with your mouths, and have fulfilled it with your hands, saying, 'We will surely perform our vows that we have made, to burn incense to the queen of heaven and to pour out libations to her.' Then confirm your vows and perform your vows!
26 So höre denn das Wort des Herrn, ganz Juda, das in Ägypten wohnt: Seht, ich schwöre bei meinem großen Namen, spricht der Herr: Nie mehr soll mein Name vom Mund irgendeines Judäers in ganz Ägypten genannt werden; keiner mehr soll sagen: So wahr Gott, der Herr, lebt!	26 Therefore hear the word of the LORD, all you of Judah who dwell in the land of Egypt: Behold, I have sworn by my great name, says the LORD, that my name shall no more be invoked by the mouth of any man of Judah in all the land of Egypt, saying, 'As the Lord GOD lives.'
27 Seht, ich wache über sie - zu ihrem Unheil, nicht zu ihrem Heil. Alle Judäer in Ägypten werden durch Schwert und Hunger umkommen und völlig vernichtet werden.	27 Behold, I am watching over them for evil and not for good; all the men of Judah who are in the land of Egypt shall be consumed by the sword and by famine, until there is an end of them.
28 Nur wenige werden dem Schwert entrinnen und aus Ägypten ins Land Juda heimkehren und der ganze Rest von Juda, der nach Ägypten ausgezogen ist, um sich dort niederzulassen, wird erkennen, wessen Wort sich erfüllt, das meine oder das ihre.	28 And those who escape the sword shall return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah, few in number; and all the remnant of Judah, who came to the land of Egypt to live, shall know whose word will stand, mine or theirs.
29 Dies aber soll euch als Zeichen dafür dienen - Spruch des Herrn -, dass ich euch heimsuche an diesem Ort, damit ihr erkennt, dass meine Unheilsworte über euch bestimmt in Erfüllung gehen:	29 This shall be the sign to you, says the LORD, that I will punish you in this place, in order that you may know that my words will surely stand against you for evil:
30 So spricht der Herr: Seht, ich liefere den Pharao Hofra, den König von Ägypten, in die Hand seiner Gegner und Todfeinde aus, wie ich Zidkija, den König von Juda, in die Hand Nebukadnezzars, des Königs von Babel, seines Gegners und Todfeindes, ausgeliefert habe.	30 Thus says the LORD, Behold, I will give Pharaoh Hophra king of Egypt into the hand of his enemies and into the hand of those who seek his life, as I gave Zedekiah king of Judah into the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, who was his enemy and sought his life."
