1 David und die Obersten des Heeres sonderten die Söhne Asafs, Hemans und Jedutuns, die auf Zithern, Harfen und Zimbeln spielten, für ihren Dienst aus. Und das ist das Verzeichnis der Männer, die den Dienst versahen:	1 David and the leaders of the liturgical cult set apart for service the descendants of Asaph, Heman, and Jeduthun, as singers of inspired songs to the accompaniment of lyres and harps and cymbals.This is the list of those who performed this service:
2 Von den Söhnen Asafs: Sakkur, Josef, Netanja und Asarela. Die Söhne Asafs standen unter der Leitung Asafs, der nach der Anweisung des Königs spielte.	2 Of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, Joseph, Nethaniah, and Asharelah, sons of Asaph, under the direction of Asaph, who sang inspired songs under the guidance of the king.
3 Von Jedutun: die Söhne Jedutuns: Gedalja, Zeri, Schimi, Jeschaja, Haschabja und Mattitja, insgesamt sechs. Sie standen unter der Leitung ihres Vaters Jedutun, der zum Lob und Preis des Herrn die Zither spielte.	3 Of Jeduthun, these sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, Zeri, Jeshaiah, Shimei, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah; six, under the direction of their father Jeduthun, who sang inspired songs to the accompaniment of a lyre, to give thanks and praise to the LORD.
4 Von Heman: die Söhne Hemans: Bukkija, Mattanja, Usiël, Schubaël, Jerimot, Hananja, Hanani, Eliata, Giddalti, Romamti-Eser, Joschbekascha, Malloti, Hotir, Mahasiot.	4 Of Heman, these sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shubael, and Jerimoth; Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, Romamti-ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, and Mahazioth.
5 Sie alle waren Söhne Hemans, des Sehers des Königs, gemäß der Verheißung Gottes, der ihm Erhöhung der Macht versprach. So schenkte Gott dem Heman vierzehn Söhne und drei Töchter.	5 All these were the sons of Heman, the king's seer in divine matters; to enhance his prestige, God gave Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
6 Alle diese spielten unter der Leitung ihrer Väter, nämlich Asafs, Jedutuns und Hemans, beim Gesang im Haus des Herrn auf Zimbeln, Harfen und Zithern. Sie hatten den Dienst im Haus Gottes nach der Weisung des Königs zu besorgen.	6 All these, whether of Asaph, Jeduthun, or Heman, were under their fathers' direction in the singing in the house of the LORD to the accompaniment of cymbals, harps and lyres, serving in the house of God, under the guidance of the king.
7 Sie zählten zusammen mit ihren Amtsbrüdern, die im Gesang zu Ehren des Herrn unterrichtet waren, 288 Mann, lauter geübte Leute.	7 Their number, together with that of their brethren who were trained in singing to the LORD, all of them skilled men, was two hundred and eighty-eight.
8 Sie warfen das Los zur Feststellung des Dienstes, und zwar der Geringste wie der Größte, der Meister wie der Schüler.	8 They cast lots for their functions equally, young and old, master and pupil alike.
9 Das erste Los traf auf Josef, das zweite auf Gedalja, seine Brüder und Söhne: 12;	9 The first lot fell to Asaph, the family of Joseph; he and his sons and his brethren were twelve. Gedaliah was the second; he and his brethren and his sons were twelve.
10 das dritte auf Sakkur, seine Söhne und Brüder: 12;	10 The third was Zaccur, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.
11 das vierte auf Zeri, seine Söhne und Brüder: 12;	11 The fourth fell to Izri, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.
12 das fünfte auf Netanja, seine Söhne und Brüder: 12;	12 The fifth was Nethaniah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.
13 das sechste auf Bukkija, seine Söhne und Brüder: 12;	13 The sixth was Bukkiah, his sons, and his brethren: twelve.
