1 La parte toccata in sorte ai figli di Giuseppe si estendeva dal Giordano presso Gèrico verso le acque di Gèrico a oriente, seguendo il deserto che per la montagna sale da Gèrico a Betel.	1 The portion of the sons of Joseph started on the east at the Jordan opposite Jericho (the Waters ofJericho) through the desert rising from Jericho into the highlands of Bethel;
2 Il confine continuava poi da Betel-Luza e passava per la frontiera degli Architi ad Atarot;	2 from Bethel it went to Luz, and on towards the frontier of the Archites at Ataroth;
3 scendeva a occidente verso il confine degli Iafletiti fino al confine di Bet-Coron inferiore e fino a Ghezer e faceva capo al mare.	3 then passed downwards and westwards to the frontier of the Japhletites as far as the border of LowerBeth-Horon and on to Gezer, and reached as far as the sea.
4 I figli di Giuseppe, Manàsse ed Efraim ebbero ciascuno la loro eredità.	4 Such was the heritage of the sons of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim.
5 Questi furono i confini dei figli di Efraim, secondo le loro famiglie. Il confine della loro eredità era a oriente Atarot-Addar, fino a Bet-Coron superiore;	5 As regards the territory of the sons of Ephraim, by clans, the frontier of their heritage ran from Ataroth-Arach to Upper Beth-Horon;
6 continuava fino al mare, dal lato di occidente, verso Micmetat al nord, girava a oriente verso Taanat-Silo e le passava davanti a oriente di Ianoach.	6 the frontier then reached as far as the sea . . . the Michmethath in the north, and the frontier turnedeast to Tanaath-Shiloh which it crossed in an easterly direction to Janoah;
7 Poi da Ianoach scendeva ad Atarot e a Naara, toccava Gèrico, e faceva capo al Giordano.	7 it ran down to Ataroth and Naarah, touched Jericho and ended at the Jordan.
8 Da Tappuach il confine andava verso occidente fino al torrente di Kana e le sue foci erano al mare. Tale era l'eredità della tribù dei figli d'Efraim, secondo le loro famiglie;	8 From Tappuah, the frontier ran westwards to the Torrent of Kanah and reached as far as the sea. Suchwas the heritage of the tribe of the sons of Ephraim, by clans,
9 incluse le città, tutte le città con i loro villaggi, riservate ai figli di Efraim in mezzo all'eredità dei figli di Manàsse.	9 apart from the towns reserved for the sons of Ephraim inside the heritage of the sons of Manasseh, althese towns and their villages.
10 Essi non scacciarono i Cananei che abitavano a Ghezer; i Cananei hanno abitato in mezzo ad Efraim fino ad oggi, ma sono costretti ai lavori forzati.	10 The Canaanites living in Gezer were not driven out; they have remained in Ephraim to the presentday but are obliged to do forced labour.
