1 I capifamiglia dei figli di Gàlaad, figlio di Machir, figlio di Manàsse, tra le famiglie dei figli di Giuseppe, si fecero avanti a parlare in presenza di Mosè e dei principi capifamiglia degli Israeliti	1 The heads of the ancestral houses in the clan of descendants of Gilead, son of Machir, son of Manasseh-one of the Josephite clans-came up and laid this plea before Moses and the priest Eleazar and before the princes who were the heads of the ancestral houses of the other Israelites.
2 e dissero: "Il Signore ha ordinato al mio signore di dare il paese in eredità agli Israeliti in base alla sorte; il mio signore ha anche ricevuto l'ordine da Dio di dare l'eredità di Zelofcad, nostro fratello, alle figlie di lui.	2 They said: "The LORD commanded you, my lord, to apportion the land by lot among the Israelites; and you, my lord, were also commanded by the LORD to give the heritage of our kinsman Zelophehad to his daughters.
3 Se queste si maritano a qualche figlio delle altre tribù degli Israeliti, la loro eredità sarà detratta dalla eredità dei nostri padri e aggiunta all'eredità della tribù nella quale esse saranno entrate; così sarà detratta dall'eredità che ci è toccata in sorte.	3 But if they marry into one of the other Israelite tribes, their heritage will be withdrawn from our ancestral heritage and will be added to that of the tribe into which they marry; thus the heritage that fell to us by lot will be diminished.
4 Quando verrà il giubileo per gli Israeliti, la loro eredità sarà aggiunta a quella della tribù nella quale saranno entrate e l'eredità loro sarà detratta dalla eredità della tribù dei nostri padri".	4 When the Israelites celebrate the jubilee year, the heritage of these women will be permanently added to that of the tribe into which they marry and will be withdrawn from that of our ancestral tribe."
5 Allora Mosè comunicò agli Israeliti quest'ordine ricevuto dal Signore: "La tribù dei figli di Giuseppe dice bene.	5 So Moses gave this regulation to the Israelites according to the instructions of the LORD: "The tribe of the Josephites are right in what they say.
6 Questo il Signore ha ordinato riguardo alle figlie di Zelofcad: si mariteranno a chi vorranno, purché si maritino in una famiglia della tribù dei loro padri.	6 This is what the LORD commands with regard to the daughters of Zelophehad: They may marry anyone they please, provided they marry into a clan of their ancestral tribe,
7 Nessuna eredità tra gli Israeliti potrà passare da una tribù all'altra, ma ciascuno degli Israeliti si terrà vincolato all'eredità della tribù dei suoi padri.	7 so that no heritage of the Israelites will pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelites will retain their own ancestral heritage.
8 Ogni fanciulla che possiede una eredità in una tribù degli Israeliti, si mariterà ad uno che appartenga ad una famiglia della tribù di suo padre, perché ognuno degli Israeliti rimanga nel possesso dell'eredità dei suoi padri	8 Therefore, every daughter who inherits property in any of the Israelite tribes shall marry someone belonging to a clan of her own ancestral tribe, in order that all the Israelites may remain in possession of their own ancestral heritage.
9 e nessuna eredità passi da una tribù all'altra; ognuna delle tribù degli Israeliti si terrà vincolata alla propria eredità".	9 Thus, no heritage can pass from one tribe to another, but all the Israelite tribes will retain their own ancestral heritage."
10 Le figlie di Zelofcad fecero secondo l'ordine che il Signore aveva dato a Mosè.	10 The daughters of Zelophehad obeyed the command which the LORD had given to Moses.
11 Macla, Tirza, Ogla, Milca e Noa, le figlie di Zelofcad, sposarono i figli dei loro zii paterni;	11 Mahlah, Tirzah, Hoglah, Milcah and Noah, Zelophehad's daughters, married relatives on their father's side
12 si maritarono nelle famiglie dei figli di Manàsse, figlio di Giuseppe, e la loro eredità rimase nella tribù della famiglia del padre loro.	12 within the clans of the descendants of Manasseh, son of Joseph; hence their heritage remained in the tribe of their father's clan.
13 Questi sono i comandi e le leggi che il Signore diede agli Israeliti per mezzo di Mosè, nelle steppe di Moab, presso il Giordano di Gèrico.	13 These are the commandments and decisions which the LORD prescribed for the Israelites through Moses, on the plains of Moab beside the Jericho stretch of the Jordan.
