1 Il Signore disse ancora a Mosè e ad Aronne:	1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and Aaron and said:
2 "Questa è una disposizione della legge che il Signore ha prescritta: Ordina agli Israeliti che ti portino una giovenca rossa, senza macchia, senza difetti, e che non abbia mai portato il giogo.	2 'This is a decree of the Law which Yahweh has prescribed. Tel the Israelites, they are to bring you ared heifer without fault or blemish that has never borne the yoke.
3 La darete al sacerdote Eleazaro, che la condurrà fuori del campo e la farà immolare in sua presenza.	3 You will give it to the priest Eleazar. It wil then be taken outside the camp and slaughtered in hispresence.
4 Il sacerdote Eleazaro prenderà con il dito il sangue della giovenca e ne farà sette volte l'aspersione davanti alla tenda del convegno;	4 The priest Eleazar wil then take some of the victim's blood on his finger, and sprinkle this bloodseven times towards the entrance to the Tent of Meeting.
5 poi si brucerà la giovenca sotto i suoi occhi; se ne brucerà la pelle, la carne e il sangue con gli escrementi.	5 The heifer wil then be burnt while he looks on; its hide, flesh, blood and offal wil be burnt.
6 Il sacerdote prenderà legno di cedro, issòpo, colore scarlatto e getterà tutto nel fuoco che consuma la giovenca.	6 The priest wil then take some cedar wood, hyssop and scarlet material and throw them on the firewhere the heifer is burning.
7 Poi il sacerdote laverà le sue vesti e farà un bagno al suo corpo nell'acqua; quindi rientrerà nel campo e il sacerdote rimarrà in stato d'immondezza fino alla sera.	7 He will then wash his clothes and bathe himself; after which he wil go back to the camp, though hewil remain unclean until evening.
8 Colui che avrà bruciato la giovenca si laverà le vesti nell'acqua, farà un bagno al suo corpo nell'acqua e sarà immondo fino alla sera.	8 The man who has burnt the heifer wil wash his clothes and bathe himself and will remain uncleanuntil evening.
9 Un uomo mondo raccoglierà le ceneri della giovenca e le depositerà fuori del campo in luogo mondo, dove saranno conservate per la comunità degli Israeliti per l'acqua di purificazione: è un rito espiatorio.	9 The man who gathers up the ashes of the heifer must be ritually clean; he will deposit them outsidethe camp, in a clean place. They wil be kept for the ritual use of the Israelite community for making water forpurification; it is a sacrifice for sin.
10 Colui che avrà raccolto le ceneri della giovenca si laverà le vesti e sarà immondo fino alla sera. Questa sarà una legge perenne per gli Israeliti e per lo straniero che soggiornerà presso di loro.	10 The man who has gathered up the ashes of the heifer wil wash his clothes and remain unclean untilevening. For the Israelites as for the resident alien, this wil be a perpetual decree.
11 Chi avrà toccato un cadavere umano sarà immondo per sette giorni.	11 'Anyone who touches the corpse of anyone whatever wil be unclean for seven days.
12 Quando uno si sarà purificato con quell'acqua il terzo e il settimo giorno, sarà mondo; ma se non si purifica il terzo e il settimo giorno, non sarà mondo.	12 Such a person must be purified with these waters on the third and seventh day and will then beclean; otherwise he wil not be clean.
13 Chiunque avrà toccato un cadavere, cioè il corpo di una persona umana morta, e non si sarà purificato, avrà profanato la Dimora del Signore e sarà sterminato da Israele. Siccome l'acqua di purificazione non è stata spruzzata su di lui, egli è in stato di immondezza; ha ancora addosso l'immondezza.	13 Anyone who touches the corpse of anyone who has died and is not purified, defiles Yahweh'sDwelling; such a person wil be outlawed from Israel, since the water for purification has not been sprinkled overhim; he is unclean, and his uncleanness remains in him.
14 Questa è la legge per quando un uomo muore in una tenda: chiunque entrerà nella tenda e chiunque sarà nella tenda sarà immondo per sette giorni.	14 'This is the law when someone dies in a tent. Anyone who goes into the tent, or anyone who isalready in it, wil be unclean for seven days,
15 Ogni vaso scoperto, sul quale non sia un coperchio o una legatura, sarà immondo.	15 and every open vessel with no cover tied over it wil also be unclean.
16 Chiunque per i campi avrà toccato un uomo ucciso di spada o morto di morte naturale o un osso d'uomo o un sepolcro sarà immondo per sette giorni.	16 'Anyone in the open country who touches a murder victim, a corpse, human bones or a grave wil beunclean for seven days.
17 Per colui che sarà divenuto immondo si prenderà la cenere della vittima bruciata per l'espiazione e vi si verserà sopra l'acqua viva, in un vaso;	17 'For someone thus unclean, some of the ashes of the victim burnt as a sacrifice for sin wil be takenand spring water must be poured over them, in a vessel.
18 poi un uomo mondo prenderà issòpo, lo intingerà nell'acqua e ne spruzzerà la tenda, tutti gli arredi e tutte le persone che vi stanno e colui che ha toccato l'osso o l'ucciso o chi è morto di morte naturale o il sepolcro.	18 Someone who is ritual y clean wil then take some hyssop and dip it in the water. This person wilthen sprinkle the tent, all the vessels and people who were there, and similarly anyone who has touched humanbones, a murder victim, a corpse or a grave.
19 L'uomo mondo spruzzerà l'immondo il terzo giorno e il settimo giorno e lo purificherà il settimo giorno; poi colui che è stato immondo si sciacquerà le vesti, si laverà con l'acqua e diventerà mondo alla sera.	19 On the third and the seventh day the clean one wil sprinkle the unclean, who on the seventh day wilbe clean. The latter wil then wash his clothes and bathe in water, and in the evening he wil be clean.
20 Ma colui che, divenuto immondo, non si purificherà, sarà eliminato dalla comunità, perché ha contaminato il santuario del Signore e l'acqua della purificazione non è stata spruzzata su di lui; è immondo.	20 Anyone who fails to be purified in this way wil be outlawed from the community, and would defileYahweh's sanctuary. Such a person is unclean, not having been sprinkled with the water for purification.
21 Sarà per loro una legge perenne. Colui che avrà spruzzato l'acqua di purificazione si laverà le vesti; chi avrà toccato l'acqua di purificazione sarà immondo fino alla sera.	21 'This wil be a perpetual decree for them. The person who sprinkles the water for purification wilwash his clothes, and anyone who touches the water for purification wil be unclean until evening.
22 Quanto l'immondo avrà toccato sarà immondo; chi lo avrà toccato sarà immondo fino alla sera".	22 Anything that an unclean person touches wil be unclean, and anyone who touches it wil be uncleanuntil evening.'
