1 Maria e Aronne parlarono contro Mosè a causa della donna etiope che aveva sposata; infatti aveva sposato una Etiope.	1 Miriam and Aaron spoke against Moses because of the Cushite woman whom he had married, for he had married a Cushite woman;
2 Dissero: "Il Signore ha forse parlato soltanto per mezzo di Mosè? Non ha parlato anche per mezzo nostro?". Il Signore udì.	2 and they said, "Has the LORD indeed spoken only through Moses? Has he not spoken through us also?" And the LORD heard it.
3 Ora Mosè era molto più mansueto di ogni uomo che è sulla terra.	3 Now the man Moses was very meek, more than all men that were on the face of the earth.
4 Il Signore disse subito a Mosè, ad Aronne e a Maria: "Uscite tutti e tre e andate alla tenda del convegno". Uscirono tutti e tre.	4 And suddenly the LORD said to Moses and to Aaron and Miriam, "Come out, you three, to the tent of meeting." And the three of them came out.
5 Il Signore allora scese in una colonna di nube, si fermò all'ingresso della tenda e chiamò Aronne e Maria. I due si fecero avanti.	5 And the LORD came down in a pillar of cloud, and stood at the door of the tent, and called Aaron and Miriam; and they both came forward.
6 Il Signore disse: "Ascoltate le mie parole! Se ci sarà un vostro profeta, io, il Signore, in visione a lui mi rivelerò, in sogno parlerò con lui.	6 And he said, "Hear my words: If there is a prophet among you, I the LORD make myself known to him in a vision, I speak with him in a dream.
7 Non così per il mio servo Mosè: egli è l'uomo di fiducia in tutta la mia casa.	7 Not so with my servant Moses; he is entrusted with all my house.
8 Bocca a bocca parlo con lui, in visione e non con enigmi ed egli guarda l'immagine del Signore. Perché non avete temuto di parlare contro il mio servo Mosè?".	8 With him I speak mouth to mouth, clearly, and not in dark speech; and he beholds the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?"
9 L'ira del Signore si accese contro di loro ed Egli se ne andò;	9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them, and he departed;
10 la nuvola si ritirò di sopra alla tenda ed ecco Maria era lebbrosa, bianca come neve; Aronne guardò Maria ed ecco era lebbrosa.	10 and when the cloud removed from over the tent, behold, Miriam was leprous, as white as snow. And Aaron turned towards Miriam, and behold, she was leprous.
11 Aronne disse a Mosè: "Signor mio, non addossarci la pena del peccato che abbiamo stoltamente commesso,	11 And Aaron said to Moses, "Oh, my lord, do not punish us because we have done foolishly and have sinned.
12 essa non sia come il bambino nato morto, la cui carne è già mezzo consumata quando esce dal seno della madre".	12 Let her not be as one dead, of whom the flesh is half consumed when he comes out of his mother's womb."
13 Mosè gridò al Signore: "Guariscila, Dio!".	13 And Moses cried to the LORD, "Heal her, O God, I beseech thee."
14 Il Signore rispose a Mosè: "Se suo padre le avesse sputato in viso, non ne porterebbe essa vergogna per sette giorni? Stia dunque isolata fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; poi vi sarà di nuovo ammessa".	14 But the LORD said to Moses, "If her father had but spit in her face, should she not be shamed seven days? Let her be shut up outside the camp seven days, and after that she may be brought in again."
15 Maria dunque rimase isolata, fuori dell'accampamento sette giorni; il popolo non riprese il cammino, finché Maria non fu riammessa nell'accampamento.	15 So Miriam was shut up outside the camp seven days; and the people did not set out on the march till Miriam was brought in again.
16 Poi il popolo partì da Caserot e si accampò nel deserto di Paran.	16 After that the people set out from Hazeroth, and encamped in the wilderness of Paran.
