1 Figli di Ruben, primogenito di Israele. Egli era il primogenito, ma, poiché aveva profanato il letto del padre, la primogenitura fu assegnata ai figli di Giuseppe, figlio d'Israele. Ma nella registrazione non si tenne conto della primogenitura,	1 Now the sons of Reuben the firstborn of Israel, (for he was the firstborn; but, forasmuch as he defiled his father's bed, his birthright was given unto the sons of Joseph the son of Israel: and the genealogy is not to be reckoned after the birthright.

3 Figli di Ruben, primogenito di Israele: Enoch, Pallu, Chezròn e Carmi.	3 The sons, I say, of Reuben the firstborn of Israel were, Hannoch, and Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
4 Figli di Gioele: Semaià, di cui fu figlio Gog, di cui fu figlio Simei,	4 The sons of Joel; Shemaiah his son, Gog his son, Shimei his son,
5 di cui fu figlio Mica, di cui fu figlio Reaia, di cui fu figlio Baal,	5 Micah his son, Reaia his son, Baal his son,
6 di cui fu figlio Beera, che fu deportato nella deportazione di Tiglat-Pilèzer, re d'Assiria; egli era il capo dei Rubeniti.	6 Beerah his son, whom Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria carried away captive: he was prince of the Reubenites.

9 A oriente si estendevano fra l'inizio del deserto che va dal fiume Eufrate in qua, perché i loro greggi erano numerosi nel paese di Gàlaad.	9 And eastward he inhabited unto the entering in of the wilderness from the river Euphrates: because their cattle were multiplied in the land of Gilead.
10 Al tempo di Saul mossero guerra agli Agarèni; caduti questi nelle loro mani, essi si stabilirono nelle loro tende su tutta la parte orientale di Gàlaad.	10 And in the days of Saul they made war with the Hagarites, who fell by their hand: and they dwelt in their tents throughout all the east land of Gilead.
11 I figli di Gad dimoravano di fronte nella regione di Basàn fino a Salca.	11 And the children of Gad dwelt over against them, in the land of Bashan unto Salchah:
12 Gioele, il capo, Safàm, secondo, quindi Iaanài e Safat in Basàn.	12 Joel the chief, and Shapham the next, and Jaanai, and Shaphat in Bashan.
13 Loro fratelli, secondo i loro casati, furono Michele, Mesullàm, Seba, Iorài, Iaacàn, Zia ed Eber: sette.	13 And their brethren of the house of their fathers were, Michael, and Meshullam, and Sheba, and Jorai, and Jachan, and Zia, and Heber, seven.
14 Costoro erano figli di Abicàil, figlio di Curì, figlio di Iaròach, figlio di Gàlaad, figlio di Michele, figlio di Iesisài, figlio di Iacdo, figlio di Buz.	14 These are the children of Abihail the son of Huri, the son of Jaroah, the son of Gilead, the son of Michael, the son of Jeshishai, the son of Jahdo, the son of Buz;
15 Achì, figlio di Abdièl, figlio di Guni, era il capo del loro casato.	15 Ahi the son of Abdiel, the son of Guni, chief of the house of their fathers.
16 Dimoravano in Gàlaad e in Basàn e nelle loro dipendenze e in tutti i pascoli di Saron fino ai loro estremi confini.	16 And they dwelt in Gilead in Bashan, and in her towns, and in all the suburbs of Sharon, upon their borders.
17 Tutti costoro furono registrati negli elenchi genealogici di Iotam re di Giuda e al tempo di Geroboamo, re di Israele.	17 All these were reckoned by genealogies in the days of Jotham king of Judah, and in the days of Jeroboam king of Israel.
18 I figli di Ruben, i Gaditi e metà della tribù di Manàsse, gente valorosa, armata di scudo e di spada, tiratori di arco ed esperti della guerra, potevano uscire in campo in quarantaquattromilasettecentosessanta.	18 The sons of Reuben, and the Gadites, and half the tribe of Manasseh, of valiant men, men able to bear buckler and sword, and to shoot with bow, and skilful in war, were four and forty thousand seven hundred and threescore, that went out to the war.
19 Essi attaccarono gli Agarèni, Ietur, Nafis e Nodab.	19 And they made war with the Hagarites, with Jetur, and Nephish, and Nodab.
20 Essi furono aiutati contro costoro, perché durante l'assalto si erano rivolti a Dio, che li aiutò per la loro fiducia in lui e così gli Agarèni e tutti i loro alleati furono consegnati nelle loro mani.	20 And they were helped against them, and the Hagarites were delivered into their hand, and all that were with them: for they cried to God in the battle, and he was intreated of them; because they put their trust in him.
21 Essi razziarono il bestiame degli Agarèni: cinquantamila cammelli, duecentocinquantamila pecore, duemila asini e centomila persone,	21 And they took away their cattle; of their camels fifty thousand, and of sheep two hundred and fifty thousand, and of asses two thousand, and of men an hundred thousand.
22 poiché numerosi furono i feriti a morte, dato che la guerra era voluta da Dio. I vincitori si stabilirono nei territori dei vinti fino alla deportazione.	22 For there fell down many slain, because the war was of God. And they dwelt in their steads until the captivity.
23 I figli di metà della tribù di Manàsse abitavano dalla regione di Basàn a Baal-Ermon, a Senir e al monte Ermon; essi erano numerosi.	23 And the children of the half tribe of Manasseh dwelt in the land: they increased from Bashan unto Baal-hermon and Senir, and unto mount Hermon.
24 Questi sono i capi dei loro casati: Efer, Isèi, Elièl, Azrièl, Geremia, Odavìa e Iacdièl, uomini valorosi e famosi, capi dei loro casati.	24 And these were the heads of the house of their fathers, even Epher, and Ishi, and Eliel, and Azriel, and Jeremiah, and Hodaviah, and Jahdiel, mighty men of valour, famous men, and heads of the house of their fathers.
25 Ma furono infedeli al Dio dei loro padri, prostituendosi agli dèi delle popolazioni indigene, che Dio aveva distrutte davanti a essi.	25 And they transgressed against the God of their fathers, and went a whoring after the gods of the people of the land, whom God destroyed before them.
26 Il Dio di Israele eccitò lo spirito di Pul re d'Assiria, cioè lo spirito di Tiglat-Pilèzer re d'Assiria, che deportò i Rubeniti, i Gaditi e metà della tribù di Manàsse; li condusse in Chelàch, presso Cabòr, fiume del Gozan, ove rimangono ancora.	26 And the God of Israel stirred up the spirit of Pul king of Assyria, and the spirit of Tilgath-pilneser king of Assyria, and he carried them away, even the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh, and brought them unto Halah, and Habor, and Hara, and to the river Gozan, unto this day.

31 (5)Abisuà generò Bukki; Bukki generò Uzzi;
32 (6)Uzzi generò Zerachia; Zerachia generò Meraiòt;
33 (7)Meraiòt generò Amaria; Amaria generò Achitòb;
34 (8)Achitòb generò Zadòk; Zadòk generò Achimàaz;
35 (9)Achimàaz generò Azaria; Azaria generò Giovanni;
36 (10)Giovanni generò Azaria, che fu sacerdote nel tempio costruito da Salomone in Gerusalemme.
37 (11)Azaria generò Amaria; Amaria generò Achitòb;
38 (12)Achitòb generò Zadòk; Zadòk generò Sallùm;
39 (13)Sallùm generò Chelkia; Chelkia generò Azaria;
40 (14)Azaria generò Seraià; Seraià generò Iozadàk.
41 (15)Iozadàk partì quando il Signore, per mezzo di Nabucodònosor, fece deportare Giuda e Gerusalemme.
