NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 The heads of families of the Levites then came to the priest, Eleazar, Joshua son of Nun and theheads of families of the tribes of Israel-	1 Ekkor odajárultak Lévi nagycsaládjainak fejei Eleazár pap elé és Józsue, Nún fia elé, és az Izrael fiainak törzseiben levő nagycsaládok fejei elé,
2 they were then at Shiloh in Canaan. They said to them, 'Through Moses, Yahweh ordered us to begiven towns to live in, with their pasture lands for our livestock.'	2 s így szóltak hozzájuk Silóban, Kánaán földjén: »Az Úr megparancsolta Mózes által, hogy adjatok nekünk városokat lakásra és körülöttük legelőket állataink táplálására.«
3 In compliance with Yahweh's order, the Israelites consequently and from their own heritage gave theLevites the fol owing towns with their pasture lands:	3 Erre Izrael fiai az Úr parancsa szerint városokat, s körülöttük legelőket adtak nekik birtokaikból.
4 Lots were cast for the clans of the Kohathites: to those Levites who were sons of Aaron the priest, felthirteen towns from the tribes of Judah, Simeon and Benjamin;	4 A sors útján Kaát nemzetségére és pedig Áron papnak fiaira, Júda, Simeon és Benjamin törzséből tizenhárom város esett,
5 to the other sons of Kohath, by clans,	5 Kaát többi fiára pedig, azaz a többi levitára, Efraim, Dán és Manassze fél törzséből tíz város.
6 fel ten towns from the tribes of Ephraim, Dan, and the half-tribe of Manasseh. To the sons of Gershon,by clans, fel thirteen towns from the tribes of Issachar, Asher, Naphtali and the half-tribe of Manasseh inBashan.	6 Gerson fiaira az a sors esett, hogy Isszakár, Áser, Naftali törzsétől és Manassze básáni fél törzsétől kapjanak összesen tizenhárom várost,
7 To the sons of Merari, by clans, fel twelve towns from the tribes of Reuben, Gad and Zebulun.	7 míg Merári fiaira, nemzetségeikhez mérten, Rúben, Gád és Zebulon törzséből tizenkét város esett.
8 The Israelites assigned these towns and their pasture lands to the Levites by lot, as Yahweh hadordered through Moses.	8 Erre odaadták Izrael fiai a levitáknak ezeket a városokat s a körülöttük levő legelőket, amint az Úr Mózes által parancsolta, mindegyiknek a sors szerint adták oda.
9 From the tribe of Judah and the tribe of Simeon, they gave the towns named below.	9 Júda és Simeon fiainak törzséből Józsue a következő nevű városokat adta:
10 The first portion was for the sons of Aaron, belonging to the clans of the Kohathites, to the sons ofLevi, since the first lot was theirs.	10 a Kaát nemzetségeiből való levita származásúak közül Áron fiainak (ezekre esett ugyanis először a sors):
11 They gave them Kiriath-Arba, Anak's father's town -- now Hebron -- in the highlands of Judah, with itssurrounding pasture lands.	11 Kirját-Arbét, Enák atyjának városát, azaz Hebront Júda hegységén s a körülötte levő legelőket.
12 The fields and vil ages of this town, however, they gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh as his property.	12 Ennek szántóit és falvait azonban Kálebnek, Jefóne fiának adta birtokul.
13 To the sons of Aaron the priest they gave Hebron, a city of refuge for those who had kil ed, with itspasture lands, as wel as Libnah with its pasture lands,	13 Áron pap fiainak adta tehát Hebront, a menedékvárost, s a körülötte levő legelőket, továbbá Libnát, a körülötte levő legelőkkel együtt,
14 Jattir with its pasture lands, Eshtemoa with its pasture lands,	14 meg Jetert, Estemót,
15 Holon with its pasture lands, Debir with its pasture lands,	15 Holont, Debirt,
16 Ashan with its pasture lands, Juttah with its pasture lands, and Beth-Shemesh with its pasture lands:nine towns taken from these two tribes;	16 Áint, Juttát, Bétsemest, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: kilenc város, az említett két törzsből.
17 and, from the tribe of Benjamin, Gibeon with its pasture lands, Geba with its pasture lands,	17 Benjamin fiainak törzséből pedig: Gibeont, Gábát,
18 Anathoth with its pasture lands and Almon with its pasture lands: four towns.	18 Anatótot, Álmont, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: négy város. –
19 Total number of towns for the priests, the sons of Aaron: thirteen towns with their pasture lands.	19 Áron pap fiainak városai összesen: tizenhárom s a körülöttük levő legelők.
20 As regards the clans of the sons of Kohath, those Levites stil left of the sons of Kohath, the towns oftheir lot were taken from the tribe of Ephraim.	20 A Kaát fiainak nemzetségeiből való többi levita származásúaknak pedig a következő birtokot adták:
21 They were given Shechem, a city of refuge for those who had kil ed, with its pasture lands, in thehighlands of Ephraim, as wel as Gezer with its pasture lands,	21 Efraim törzséből: a menedékvárost, Szíchemet, a körülötte levő legelőkkel együtt, Efraim hegységén, továbbá Gézert,
22 Kibzaim with its pasture lands, and Beth-Horon with its pasture lands: four towns;	22 Kibszaimot, Béthoront, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: ez négy város. –
23 from the tribe of Dan, Elteke with its pasture lands, Gibbethon with its pasture lands,	23 Dán törzséből pedig: Eltekót, Gábátont,
24 Aijalon with its pasture lands and Gath-Rimmon with its pasture lands: four towns;	24 Ajjalont, Gátremmont, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: ez négy város. –
25 and, from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Taanach with its pasture lands and Jibleam with its pasturelands: two towns.	25 Továbbá Manassze fél törzséből: Tánákot és Gátremmont, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: ez két város.
26 In al : ten towns with their pasture lands for the remaining clans of the sons of Kohath.	26 Mindez összesen tíz város s a körülöttük levő legelők; ezt adták Kaát alsóbb rangú fiainak.
27 To the sons of Gershon, of the levitical clans, were given: from the half-tribe of Manasseh, Golan inBashan, a city of refuge for those who had kil ed, with its pasture lands, and Ashtaroth with its pasture lands --two towns;	27 A levita-nemzetségből azoknak, akik Gerson fiai voltak, adta: Manassze fél törzséből a menedékvárost, Gaulont Básánban, továbbá Boszrát, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: két város.
28 from the tribe of Issachar, Kishion with its pasture lands, Dobrath with its pasture lands,	28 Továbbá Isszakár törzséből: Kesiont, Dáberetet,
29 Jarmuth with its pasture lands and En-Gannim with its pasture lands -- four towns;	29 Jarámótot, Éngannimot, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: négy város.
30 from the tribe of Asher, Mishal with its pasture lands, Abdon with its pasture lands,	30 Áser törzséből pedig: Másált, Abdont,
31 Helkath with its pasture lands and Rehob with its pasture lands -- four towns;	31 Helkátot és Rohóbot, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: négy város.
32 and, from the tribe of Naphtali, Kedesh in Galilee, a city of refuge for those who had kil ed, with itspasture lands, Hammoth-Dor with its pasture lands and Kartan with its pasture lands -- three towns.	32 Naftali törzséből a menedékvárost: Kedest Galileában, továbbá Hammót-Dórt, Kártánt, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt: három város.
33 Total number of towns of the Gershonites, by clans: thirteen towns with their pasture lands.	33 Gerson családjának városai összesen: tizenhárom s a körülöttük levő legelők.
34 To the clans of the sons of Merari, the remainder of the Levites, fel : from the tribe of Zebulun,Jokneam with its pasture lands, Kartah with its pasture lands,	34 Merári fiai nemzetségeinek, az alsóbb rangú levitáknak adták: Zebulon törzséből: Jeknámot, Kártát,
35 Rimmon with its pasture lands and Nahalal with its pasture lands -- four towns;	35 Dámnát, Naálolt: négy várost, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt.
36 on the other side of the Jordan opposite Jericho, from the tribe of Reuben, Bezer in the desert, on thetableland, a city of refuge for those who had killed, with its pasture lands, Jahaz with its pasture lands,	36 Rúben törzséből, a Jordánon túl, Jerikóval szemben a menedékvárost, Bószort a Miszor pusztában, Jázert,
37 Kedemoth with its pasture lands and Mephaath with its pasture lands -- four towns;	37 Kedemótot és Mefaátot: négy várost, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt.
38 and, from the tribe of Gad, Ramoth in Gilead, a city of refuge for those who had killed, with its pasturelands, Mahanaim with its pasture lands,	38 Gád törzséből a menedékvárost, Rámótot, Gileádban, továbbá Mánaimot,
39 Heshbon with its pasture lands and Jazer with its pasture lands -- four towns.	39 Hesbont és Jázert: négy várost, a körülöttük levő legelőkkel együtt.
40 Total number of towns forming the lot of the sons of Merari by clans, of the remaining levitical clans:twelve towns.	40 Merári fiainak városai, családjaikhoz és nemzetségeikhez mérten, összesen: tizenkettő.
41 The total number of towns for the Levites in Israelite territory was forty-eight towns with their pasture lands.	41 Összesen tehát negyvennyolc városuk volt a levitáknak Izrael fiainak birtokai között,
42 These towns consisted in each case of the town itself and the pasture land round it. This was thecase with all the towns.	42 mindegyiket a körülötte levő legelőkkel együtt adták oda az egyes nemzetségeknek.
43 This was how Yahweh gave the Israelites the entire country which he had sworn to give to theirancestors. They took possession of it and settled in it.	43 Megadta tehát az Úr Izraelnek azt az egész földet, amely felől megesküdött atyáiknak, hogy odaadja: ők elfoglalták, és megtelepedtek rajta.
44 Yahweh granted them tranquil ity on all their frontiers just as he had sworn to their ancestors and, ofal their enemies, not one succeeded in resisting them. Yahweh put al their enemies at their mercy.	44 Békét is adott nekik az Úr valamennyi környező nemzettel szemben és senki sem mert ellenállni nekik ellenségeik közül, hanem valamennyien a hatalmukba kerültek.
45 Of al the promises that Yahweh had made to the House of Israel, not one failed; al were fulfilled.	45 Egy szó sem hiúsult meg mindabból, ami felől azt ígérte, hogy teljesíti, hanem minden valóra vált és beteljesedett.
