Ephesians 6

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 Figli, obbedite ai vostri genitori nel Signore, perché ciò è giusto.
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 Onora tuo padre e tua madre -- è il primo comandamento con promessa --
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 affinché te ne venga del bene e viva a lungo sulla terra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non esasperate i vostri figli, ma educateli, correggendoli ed esortandoli nel Signore.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 Schiavi, obbedite ai vostri padroni terreni con timore e rispetto, con cuore sincero, come al Signore;
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 non siate solleciti soltanto sotto gli occhi del padrone, come chi intende piacere agli uomini, ma come degli schiavi del Cristo, che fanno con cuore la volontà di Dio;
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 serviteli con premura, come fossero il Signore e non uomini,
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 convinti che ciascuno, schiavo o libero, riavrà dal Signore il bene che avrà fatto.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 E voi, padroni, comportatevi allo stesso modo verso di loro, smettendo di minacciare, consapevoli che nei cieli c'è il loro e il vostro Signore, che non ha preferenze personali.
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 In definitiva, rafforzatevi nel Signore e con la sua potenza.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Vestite l'intera armatura di Dio per contrastare le ingegnose macchinazioni del diavolo;
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 infatti non lottiamo contro una natura umana mortale, ma contro i prìncipi, contro le potenze, contro dominatori di questo mondo oscuro, contro gli spiriti maligni delle regioni celesti.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Per questo motivo indossate l'armatura di Dio per resistere nel giorno malvagio e, dopo aver tutto predisposto, tenere saldamente il campo.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 State saldi, dunque, avendo già ai fianchi la cintura della verità, indosso la corazza della giustizia
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 e calzati i piedi con la prontezza che dà il vangelo della pace;
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 in ogni occasione imbracciando lo scudo della fede, col quale potrete spegnere tutti i dardi infuocati del maligno;
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 prendete l'elmo della salvezza e la spada dello Spirito, cioè la parola di Dio.
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 Mossi dallo Spirito pregate incessantemente con ogni sorta di preghiera e di supplica; vegliate e siate assidui nell'orazione per tutti i santi
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 e anche per me, affinché mi sia concessa libertà di parola per annunciare coraggiosamente il mistero del vangelo,
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 per il quale sono un ambasciatore in catene, e per osare di parlarne con franchezza, come è mio dovere.
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 Affinché anche voi conosciate quanto mi riguarda e ciò che intendo fare, Tichico, fratello diletto e fedele servo nel Signore, vi informerà su tutto.
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 Ve lo mando proprio perché vi informi sulla nostra situazione e consoli i vostri cuori.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Dio Padre e il Signore Gesù Cristo accordino ai fratelli pace e amore con fede.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La grazia sia con tutti coloro che amano il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo con sincero amore.
