Ephesians 6

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLIA
1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 Hijos, obedeced a vuestros padres en el Señor; porque esto es justo.
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 Honra a tu padre y a tu madre, tal es el primer mandamiento que lleva consigo una promesa:
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 Para que seas feliz y se prolongue tu vida sobre la tierra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 Padres, no exasperéis a vuestros hijos, sino formadlos más bien mediante la instrucción y la corrección según el Señor.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 Esclavos, obedeced a vuestros amos de este mundo con respeto y temor, con sencillez de corazón, como a Cristo,
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 no por ser vistos, como quien busca agradar a los hombres, sino como esclavos de Cristo que cumplen de corazón la voluntad de Dios;
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 de buena gana, como quien sirve al Señor y no a los hombres;
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 conscientes de que cada cual será recompemsado por el Señor según el bien que hiciere: sea esclavo, sea libre.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 Amos, obrad de la misma manera con ellos, dejando las amenazas; teniendo presente que está en los cielos el Amo vuestro y de ellos, y que en él no hay acepción de personas.
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 Por lo demás, fortaleceos en el Señor y en la fuerza de su poder.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Revestíos de las armas de Dios para poder resistir a las acechanzas del Diablo.
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 Porque nuestra lucha no es contra la carne y la sangre, sino contra los Principados, contra las Potestades, contra los Dominadores de este mundo tenebroso, contra los Espíritus del Mal que están en las alturas.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Por eso, tomad las armas de Dios, para que podáis resistir en el día malo, y después de haber vencido todo, manteneros firmes.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 ¡En pie!, pues; ceñida vuestra cintura con la Verdad y revestidos de la Justicia como coraza,
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 calzados los pies con el Celo por el Evangelio de la paz,
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 embrazando siempre el escudo de la Fe, para que podáis apagar con él todos los encendidos dardos del Maligno.
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 Tomad, también, el yelmo de la salvación y la la espada del Espíritu, que es la Palabra de Dios;
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 siempre en oración y súplica, orando en toda ocasión en el Espíritu, velando juntos con perseverancia e intercediendo por todos los santos,
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 y también por mí, para que me sea dada la Palabra al abrir mi boca y pueda dar a conocer con valentía el Misterio del Evangelio,
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 del cual soy embajador entre cadenas, y pueda hablar de él valientemente como conviene.
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 Para que también vosotros sepáis cómo me va y qué hago, os informará de todo Tíquico, el hermano querido y fiel ministro en el Señor,
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 a quien envío donde vosotros expresamente para que sepáis de nosotros y consuele vuestros corazones.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Paz a los hermanos, y caridad con fe de parte de Dios Padre y del Señor Jesucristo.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La gracia sea con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo en la vida incorruptible.
