Ephesians 6

NEW JERUSALEM	DIODATI
1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 Figliuoli, ubbidite nel Signore a’ vostri padri e madri, perciocchè ciò è giusto.
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 Onora tuo padre, e tua madre che è il primo comandamento con promessa,
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 acciocchè ti sia bene, e tu sii di lunga vita sopra la terra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli; ma allevateli in disciplina, ed ammonizion del Signore.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 Servi, ubbidite a’ vostri signori secondo la carne, con timore, e tremore, nella semplicità del cuor vostro, come a Cristo.
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 Non servendo all’occhio, come per piacere agli uomini; ma, come servi di Cristo, facendo il voler di Dio d’animo;
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 servendo con benivoglienza, come a Cristo, e non come agli uomini;
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 sapendo che del bene che ciascuno, o servo o franco ch’egli sia, avrà fatto, egli ne riceverà la retribuzion dal Signore.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 E voi, signori, fate par pari inverso loro, rallentando le minacce; sapendo che il Signore, e vostro, e loro, è ne’ cieli; e che dinanzi a lui non v’è riguardo alla qualità delle persone
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 NEL rimanente, fratelli miei, fortificatevi nel Signore, e nella forza della sua possanza.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Vestite tutta l’armatura di Dio, per poter dimorar ritti, e fermi contro alle insidie del diavolo.
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 Poichè noi non abbiamo il combattimento contro a sangue e carne; ma contro a’ principati, contro alle podestà, contro a’ rettori del mondo, e delle tenebre di questo secolo, contro agli spiriti maligni, ne’ luoghi celesti.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Perciò, prendete tutta l’armatura di Dio, acciocchè possiate contrastare nel giorno malvagio; e dopo aver compiuta ogni cosa, restar ritti in piè.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 Presentatevi adunque al combattimento, cinti di verità intorno a’ lombi, e vestiti dell’usbergo della giustizia;
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 ed avendo i piedi calzati della preparazione dell’evangelo della pace.
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 Sopra tutto, prendendo lo scudo della fede, col quale possiate spegnere tutti i dardi infocati del maligno.
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 Pigliate ancora l’elmo della salute; e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio.
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 Orando in ogni tempo, con ogni maniera di preghiera, e supplicazione, in Ispirito; ed a questo stesso vegliando, con ogni perseveranza, ed orazione per tutti i santi
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 E per me ancora, acciocchè mi sia data parola con apertura di bocca, per far conoscere con libertà il misterio dell’evangelo.
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 Per lo quale io sono ambasciatore in catena; acciocchè io l’annunzii francamente, come mi convien parlare.
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 OR acciocchè ancora voi sappiate lo stato mio, e ciò che io fo, Tichico, il caro fratello, e fedel ministro nel Signore, vi farà assapere il tutto.
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 Il quale io ho mandato a voi a questo stesso fine, acciocchè voi sappiate lo stato nostro, e ch’egli consoli i cuori vostri.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Pace a’ fratelli, e carità con fede, da Dio Padre, e dal Signor Gesù Cristo.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che amano il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo, in purità incorruttibile. Amen
