Ephesians 6

1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 Figliuoli siate ubbidienti a' vostri genitori nel Signore: imperocché ciò è giusto.
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 Onora il padre tuo, e la madre tua, che è il primo comandamento, che ha promessa:
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 Affinchè tu sii felice: e viva lungamente sopra la terra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli: ma allevateli nella disciplina, e nelle istruzioni del Signore.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 Servi, siate ubbidienti ai padroni carnali con riverenza, e sollecitudine, nella semplicità del cuor vostro, come a Cristo:
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 Servendo non all'occhio, quasi per piacere agli uomini, ma come servi di Cristo, facendo di cuore la volontà di Dio,
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 Con amore servendo, come pel Signore, non come per gli uomini:
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 Essendo a voi noto, come ognuno, o servo, o libero, riceverà dal Signore tatto quel, che avrà fatto di bene.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 E voi padroni, fate altrettanto riguardo ad essi, ponendo da parte l'asprezza: non ignorando, che il vostro, e il loro padrone è ne' cieli: e che egli non è accettator di persone.
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 Del resto, fratelli, siate forti nel Signore, e nella virtù potente di lui.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Rivestitevi di tutta l'armatura di Dio, affinchè possiate resistere alle insidie del diavolo:
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 Imperocché non abbiam da lottare con la carne, e col sangue, ma co' principi, e colle potestà, co' dominanti dì questo mondo tenebroso, con gli spiriti, maligni dell'aria.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Per questo prendete tutta l'armatura di Dio, perché possiate resistere nel giorno cattivo, e preparati in tutto sostenervi.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 State adunque cinti i vostri lombi con la verità, e vestiti della corazza di giustizia,
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 E calzati i piedi in preparazione? al vangelo di pace:
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 Sopra tutto date di mano allo scudo della fede, col quale possiate estinguere tutti gli infuocati dardi del maligno:
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 E prendete il cimiero della salute, e la spada dello spirito (che è la parola di Dio),
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 Con ogni sorta di preghiere, e di suppliche orando continuamente in ispirito: e in questo stesso vegliando con tutta perseveranza pregando pei santi tutti.
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 E per me, affinchè a me data sia la parola, onde aprir con fidanza la mia bocca per manifestare il mistero del vangelo:
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 Del quale sono ambasciadore io alla catena, affinchè con fidanza io ne parli, come si conviene.
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 Or affinchè voi pur siate informati delle cose mie, di quel, ch'io mi faccia, il tutto saravvi notificato da Tichico carissimo fratello, e ministro fedele nel Signore:
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 Il quale ho spedito a voi a questo stesso fine, perché siate informati delle cose mie, ed egli consoli i vostri cuori.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Pace a' fratelli, e carità, e fede da Dio Padre, e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La grazia con tutti coloro, i quali incorrotti amano il Signor nostro Gesù Cristo. Cosi sia.
