Ephesians 6

1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 - O figliuoli, obbedite ai vostri genitori nel Signore, perchè questo è giusto.
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 Onora tuo padre e tua madre, ecco il primo comandamento nella promessa,
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 perchè tu abbia bene e abbia lunga vita sulla terra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 E voi, padri, non provocate ad ira i vostri figliuoli, ma allevateli nella disciplina e negli ammonimenti del Signore.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 O servi, obbedite ai vostri padroni secondo la carne con timore e tremore nella semplicità del vostro cuore come a Cristo,
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 non servendo solo all'occhio come chi vuol piacere agli uomini, ma come servi di Cristo, facendo la volontà di Dio di cuore,
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 servendo con buona volontà come a Dio non come ad uomini,
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 sapendo che ciascuno se fa il bene, bene riceverà dal Signore, schiavo o libero che sia.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 E voi, padroni, fate lo stesso coi servi, astenendovi dalle minacce, sapendo che il Padrone loro e di voi è nei cieli, e non è appo lui accettazione di persone.
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 Del resto, fratelli, siate forti nel Signore e nel potere della forza di lui.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Rivestitevi dell'armatura di Dio per potere affrontare le insidie del diavolo,
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 poichè non è la nostra lotta col sangue e colla carne, ma contro i dominatori del mondo delle tenebre, contro gli spiriti maligni dell'aria.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Per questo prendete l'armatura di Dio affinchè possiate resistere nel giorno cattivo e, compiuto il vostro dovere, restar in piedi.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 Saldi dunque, cingendo i vostri lombi nella verità e indossando la corazza della giustizia,
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 e calzando i piedi nella preparazione che dà il Vangelo della pace;
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 in ogni cosa impugnando lo scudo della fede, su cui possiate spegnere tutti i dardi infocati del maligno.
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 E prendete su anche l'elmo della salvezza e la spada dello Spirito, che è la parola di Dio;
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 con ogni preghiera e supplicazione, pregando in ogni tempo in ispirito, e vegliando allo stesso fine con incessante perseveranza e supplicazione a pro dei santi tutti
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 e per me, affinchè nell'aprir bocca siami concessa la parola per far conoscere francamente il mistero del Vangelo,
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 per il quale sono ambasciatore nei ceppi, sì che io possa in caso usare tutta la libertà di parola come è conveniente.
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 E affinchè sappiate anche voi le cose mie, e come me la passo, d'ogni cosa v'informerà Tichico il caro fratello e fedele ministro nel Signore,
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 che ho mandato a voi appunto a questo scopo che voi conosciate le cose nostre e perchè conforti i vostri cuori.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Pace ai fratelli e amore con fede da Dio Padre e dal Signore Gesù Cristo.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La grazia sia con tutti quelli che, senza lasciarsi corrompere, amano il Signore nostro Gesù Cristo. Così sia.
