Ephesians 6

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Children, be obedient to your parents in the Lord -- that is what uprightness demands.	1 Hijos, obedezcan a sus padres en el Señor porque esto es lo justo,
2 The first commandment that has a promise attached to it is: Honour your father and your mother,	2 ya que el primer mandamiento que contiene una promesa es este: Honra a tu padre y a tu madre,
3 and the promise is: so that you may have long life and prosper in the land.	3 para que seas feliz y tengas una larga vida en la tierra.
4 And parents, never drive your children to resentment but bring them up with correction and adviceinspired by the Lord.	4 Padres, no irriten a sus hijos; al contrario, edúquenlos, corrigiéndolos y aconsejándolos, según el espíritu del Señor.
5 Slaves, be obedient to those who are, according to human reckoning, your masters, with deep respectand sincere loyalty, as you are obedient to Christ:	5 Esclavos, obedezcan a sus patrones con temor y respeto, sin ninguna clase de doblez, como si sirvieran a Cristo;
6 not only when you are under their eye, as if you had only to please human beings, but as slaves ofChrist who wholeheartedly do the wil of God.	6 no con una obediencia fingida que trata de agradar a los hombres, sino como servidores de Cristo, cumpliendo de todo corazón la voluntad de Dios.
7 Work wil ingly for the sake of the Lord and not for the sake of human beings.	7 Sirvan a sus dueños de buena gana, como si se tratara del Señor y no de los hombres,
8 Never forget that everyone, whether a slave or a free man, wil be rewarded by the Lord for whateverwork he has done wel .	8 teniendo en cuenta que el Señor retribuirá a cada uno el bien que haya hecho, sea un esclavo o un hombre libre.
9 And those of you who are employers, treat your slaves in the same spirit; do without threats, and neverforget that they and you have the same Master in heaven and there is no favouritism with him.	9 Y ustedes, patrones, compórtense de la misma manera con sus servidores y dejen a un lado las amenazas, sabiendo que el Señor de ellos, que lo es también de ustedes, está en el cielo, y no hace acepción de personas.
10 Finally, grow strong in the Lord, with the strength of his power.	10 Por lo demás, fortalézcanse en el Señor con la fuerza de su poder.
11 Put on the ful armour of God so as to be able to resist the devil's tactics.	11 Revístanse con la armadura de Dios, para que puedan resistir las insidias del demonio.
12 For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and theruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world, the spirits of evil in the heavens.	12 Porque nuestra lucha no es contra enemigos de carne y sangre, sino contra los Principados y Potestades, contra los Soberanos de este mundo de tinieblas, contra los espíritus del mal que habitan en el espacio.
13 That is why you must take up al God's armour, or you wil not be able to put up any resistance on theevil day, or stand your ground even though you exert yourselves to the ful .	13 Por lo tanto, tomen la armadura de Dios, para que puedan resistir en el día malo y mantenerse firmes después de haber superado todos los obstáculos.
14 So stand your ground, with truth a belt round your waist, and uprightness a breastplate,	14 Permanezcan de pie, ceñidos con el cinturón de la verdad y vistiendo la justicia como coraza.
15 wearing for shoes on your feet the eagerness to spread the gospel of peace	15 Calcen sus pies con el celo para propagar la Buena Noticia de la paz.
16 and always carrying the shield of faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the EvilOne.	16 Tengan siempre en la mano el escudo de la fe, con el que podrán apagar todas las flechas encendidas del Maligno.
17 And then you must take salvation as your helmet and the sword of the Spirit, that is, the word of God.	17 Tomen el casco de la salvación, y la espada del Espíritu, que es la Palabra de Dios.
18 In al your prayer and entreaty keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired ofstaying awake to pray for al God's holy people,	18 Eleven constantemente toda clase de oraciones y súplicas, animadas por el Espíritu. Dedíquense con perseverancia incansable a interceder por todos los hermanos,
19 and pray for me to be given an opportunity to open my mouth and fearlessly make known the mysteryof the gospel	19 y también por mí, a fin de que encuentre palabras adecuadas para anunciar resueltamente el misterio del Evangelio,
20 of which I am an ambassador in chains; pray that in proclaiming it I may speak as fearlessly as I oughtto.	20 del cual yo soy embajador en medio de mis cadenas. ¡Así podré hablar libremente de él, como debo hacerlo!
21 So that you know, as well, what is happening to me and what I am doing, my dear friend Tychicus, mytrustworthy helper in the Lord, wil tel you everything.	21 Tíquico, el querido hermano y fiel servidor en el Señor, los pondrá al corriente de cómo me encuentro y de lo que estoy haciendo.
22 I am sending him to you precisely for this purpose, to give you news about us and encourage youthoroughly.	22 Con este propósito, lo envié para que él les dé noticias nuestras y los conforte interiormente.
23 May God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ grant peace, love and faith to al the brothers.	23 Llegue a todos los hermanos la paz, el amor y la fe, que proceden de Dios, el Padre, y el Señor Jesucristo.
24 May grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ, in life imperishable.	24 La gracia permanezca con todos los que aman a nuestro Señor Jesucristo con un amor incorruptible.
