Galatians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	Biblija Hrvatski
1 Christ set us free, so that we should remain free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be fastenedagain to the yoke of slavery.	1 Za slobodu nas Krist oslobodi! Držite se dakle i ne dajte se ponovno u jaram ropstva!
2 I, Paul, give you my word that if you accept circumcision, Christ wil be of no benefit to you at al .	2 Evo ja, Pavao, velim vam: ako se obrežete, Krist vam ništa neće koristiti.
3 I give my assurance once again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is under obligation tokeep the whole Law;	3 I ponovno jamčim svakom čovjeku koji se obreže: dužan je opsluživati sav Zakon.
4 once you seek to be reckoned as upright through the Law, then you have separated yourself fromChrist, you have fal en away from grace.	4 Prekinuli ste s Kristom vi koji se u Zakonu mislite opravdati; iz milosti ste ispali.
5 We are led by the Spirit to wait in the confident hope of saving justice through faith,	5 Jer mi po Duhu iz vjere očekujemo pravednost, nadu svoju.
6 since in Christ Jesus it is not being circumcised or being uncircumcised that can effect anything -- onlyfaith working through love.	6 Uistinu, u Kristu Isusu ništa ne vrijedi ni obrezanje ni neobrezanje, nego – vjera ljubavlju djelotvorna.
7 You began your race wel ; who came to obstruct you and stop you obeying the truth?	7 Dobro ste trčali; tko li vas je samo spriječio da se više ne pokoravate istini?
8 It was certainly not any prompting from him who called you!	8 Ta pobuda nije od Onoga koji vas zove!
9 A pinch of yeast ferments the whole batch.	9 Malo kvasca cijelo tijesto ukvasa.
10 But I feel sure that, united in the Lord, you wil not be led astray, and that anyone who makes troublewith you will be condemned, no matter who he is.	10 Ja se uzdam u vas u Gospodinu: vi nećete drukčije misliti. A tko vas zbunjuje, snosit će osudu, tko god bio.
11 And I, brothers -- if I were stil preaching circumcision, why should I still be persecuted? For then theobstacle which is the cross would have no point any more.	11 A ja, braćo, ako sveudilj propovijedam obrezanje, zašto me sveudilj progone? Onda je obeskrijepljena sablazan križa!
12 I could wish that those who are unsettling you would go further and mutilate themselves.	12 Uškopili se oni koji vas podbunjuju!
13 After al , brothers, you were called to be free; do not use your freedom as an opening for self-indulgence, but be servants to one another in love,	13 SDoista vi ste, braćo, na slobodu pozvani! Samo neka ta sloboda ne bude izlikom tijelu, nego – ljubavlju služite jedni drugima.
14 since the whole of the Law is summarised in the one commandment: You must love your neighbour asyourself.	14 Ta sav je Zakon ispunjen u jednoj jedinoj riječi, u ovoj: Ljubi bližnjega svoga kao sebe samoga!
15 If you go snapping at one another and tearing one another to pieces, take care: you will be eaten up byone another.	15 Ako li pak jedni druge grizete i glođete, pazite da jedni druge ne proždrete.
16 Instead, I tel you, be guided by the Spirit, and you wil no longer yield to self-indulgence.	16 Hoću reći: po Duhu živite pa nećete ugađati požudi tijela!
17 The desires of self-indulgence are always in opposition to the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are inopposition to self-indulgence: they are opposites, one against the other; that is how you are prevented fromdoing the things that you want to.	17 Jer tijelo žudi protiv Duha, a Duh protiv tijela. Doista, to se jedno drugomu protivi da ne činite što hoćete.
18 But when you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.	18 Ali ako vas Duh vodi, niste pod Zakonom.
19 When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: sexual vice, impurity, and sensuality,	19 A očita su djela tijela. To su: bludnost, nečistoća, razvratnost,
20 the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels,disagreements,	20 idolopoklonstvo, vračanje, neprijateljstva, svađa, ljubomor, srdžbe, spletkarenja, razdori, strančarenja,
21 factions and malice, drunkenness, orgies and al such things. And about these, I tel you now as I havetold you in the past, that people who behave in these ways wil not inherit the kingdom of God.	21 zavisti, pijančevanja, pijanke i tome slično. Unaprijed vam kažem, kao što vam već rekoh: koji takvo što čine, kraljevstva Božjega neće baštiniti.
22 On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness,	22 Plod je pak Duha: ljubav, radost, mir, velikodušnost, uslužnost, dobrota, vjernost,
23 gentleness and self-control; no law can touch such things as these.	23 blagost, uzdržljivost. Protiv tih nema zakona.
24 All who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified self with al its passions and its desires.	24 Koji su Kristovi, razapeše tijelo sa strastima i požudama.
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let our behaviour be guided by the Spirit	25 Ako živimo po Duhu, po Duhu se i ravnajmo!
26 and let us not be conceited or provocative and envious of one another.	26 Ne hlepimo za taštom slavom! Ne izazivajmo jedni druge, ne zaviđajmo jedni drugima!
