Galatians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 Christ set us free, so that we should remain free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be fastenedagain to the yoke of slavery.	1 Erre a szabadságra tett szabaddá minket Krisztus. Legyetek tehát állhatatosak, és ne vegyétek magatokra ismét a szolgaság igáját.
2 I, Paul, give you my word that if you accept circumcision, Christ wil be of no benefit to you at al .	2 Íme én, Pál, mondom nektek, hogy ha körülmetélkedtek, Krisztus semmit sem használ nektek.
3 I give my assurance once again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is under obligation tokeep the whole Law;	3 Újra tanúságot teszek minden ember előtt, aki körülmetélkedik, hogy köteles az egész törvényt megtartani.
4 once you seek to be reckoned as upright through the Law, then you have separated yourself fromChrist, you have fal en away from grace.	4 Elszakadtatok Krisztustól, akik a törvényben keresitek a megigazulást, kiestetek a kegyelemből.
5 We are led by the Spirit to wait in the confident hope of saving justice through faith,	5 Mert mi a Lélek által, hitből várjuk a megigazulás reményét.
6 since in Christ Jesus it is not being circumcised or being uncircumcised that can effect anything -- onlyfaith working through love.	6 Hiszen Krisztus Jézusban sem a körülmetélés nem ér semmit, sem a körülmetéletlenség, csak a szeretet által munkálkodó hit.
7 You began your race wel ; who came to obstruct you and stop you obeying the truth?	7 Jól futottatok; ki akadályozott meg benneteket, hogy engedelmeskedjetek az igazságnak?
8 It was certainly not any prompting from him who called you!	8 Ez a hitegetés nem attól van, aki meghívott titeket.
9 A pinch of yeast ferments the whole batch.	9 Egy kevés kovász az egész tésztát megkeleszti.
10 But I feel sure that, united in the Lord, you wil not be led astray, and that anyone who makes troublewith you will be condemned, no matter who he is.	10 Bízom bennetek az Úrban, hogy nem fogtok másképp vélekedni. Aki pedig megzavar titeket, viselni fogja az ítéletet, akárki legyen is az.
11 And I, brothers -- if I were stil preaching circumcision, why should I still be persecuted? For then theobstacle which is the cross would have no point any more.	11 Én pedig, testvérek, ha még most is a körülmetélkedést hirdetem, miért szenvedek még mindig üldözést? Akkor megszűnt a kereszt botránya.
12 I could wish that those who are unsettling you would go further and mutilate themselves.	12 Bárcsak egészen megcsonkítanák magukat azok, akik titeket megzavarnak!
13 After al , brothers, you were called to be free; do not use your freedom as an opening for self-indulgence, but be servants to one another in love,	13 Mert ti szabadságra vagytok hivatva, testvérek, csak a szabadság ne legyen kibúvó a testnek, hanem szeretetben szolgáljatok egymásnak!
14 since the whole of the Law is summarised in the one commandment: You must love your neighbour asyourself.	14 Mert az egész törvény egy mondatban teljesedik be, mégpedig ebben: »Szeresd felebarátodat, mint önmagadat« .
15 If you go snapping at one another and tearing one another to pieces, take care: you will be eaten up byone another.	15 De ha egymást marjátok és faljátok, vigyázzatok, hogy egymást el ne emésszétek!
16 Instead, I tel you, be guided by the Spirit, and you wil no longer yield to self-indulgence.	16 Azt mondom tehát: Lélek szerint járjatok, és ne teljesítsétek a test kívánságait!
17 The desires of self-indulgence are always in opposition to the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are inopposition to self-indulgence: they are opposites, one against the other; that is how you are prevented fromdoing the things that you want to.	17 Mert a test a Lélek ellen vágyakozik, a Lélek pedig a test ellen; ezek ugyanis egymással ellenkeznek, hogy ne azt tegyétek, amit szeretnétek.
18 But when you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.	18 Ha a Lélek vezet titeket, nem vagytok a törvény alatt.
19 When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: sexual vice, impurity, and sensuality,	19 A test cselekedetei nyilvánvalók: paráznaság, tisztátalanság, bujaság,
20 the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels,disagreements,	20 bálványimádás, mágia, ellenségeskedés, viszálykodás, versengés, harag, veszekedés, széthúzás, szakadás,
21 factions and malice, drunkenness, orgies and al such things. And about these, I tel you now as I havetold you in the past, that people who behave in these ways wil not inherit the kingdom of God.	21 irigykedés, részegeskedés, tobzódás és hasonlók. Ezekről előre mondom nektek, mint előbb is mondtam, hogy akik ilyen dolgokat tesznek, nem nyerik el Isten országát.
22 On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness,	22 A Lélek gyümölcse pedig a szeretet, öröm, békesség, türelem, kedvesség, jóság, hűség,
23 gentleness and self-control; no law can touch such things as these.	23 szelídség, önmegtartóztatás. Ilyenek ellen nincsen törvény.
24 All who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified self with al its passions and its desires.	24 Akik pedig Krisztus Jézuséi, megfeszítették testüket a vétkekkel és a kívánságokkal együtt.
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let our behaviour be guided by the Spirit	25 Ha a Lélek által élünk, járjunk is a Lélek szerint!
26 and let us not be conceited or provocative and envious of one another.	26 Ne vágyódjunk a hiú dicsőség után, egymást ingerelve, egymásra irigykedve!
