Galatians 5

NEW JERUSALEM	GREEK BIBLE
1 Christ set us free, so that we should remain free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be fastenedagain to the yoke of slavery.	1 Εν τη ελευθερια λοιπον, με την οποιαν ηλευθερωσεν ημας ο Χριστος, μενετε σταθεροι, και μη υποβληθητε παλιν εις ζυγον δουλειας.
2 I, Paul, give you my word that if you accept circumcision, Christ wil be of no benefit to you at al .	2 Ιδου, εγω ο Παυλος σας λεγω οτι εαν περιτεμνησθε, ο Χριστος δεν θελει σας ωφελησει ουδεν.
3 I give my assurance once again to every man who accepts circumcision that he is under obligation tokeep the whole Law;	3 Μαρτυρομαι δε παλιν προς παντα ανθρωπον περιτεμνομενον, οτι ειναι χρεωστης να εκτελη ολον τον νομον.
4 once you seek to be reckoned as upright through the Law, then you have separated yourself fromChrist, you have fal en away from grace.	4 Απεχωρισθητε απο του Χριστου οσοι δικαιονεσθε δια του νομου, εξεπεσατε απο της χαριτος?
5 We are led by the Spirit to wait in the confident hope of saving justice through faith,	5 διοτι ημεις δια του Πνευματος προσδοκωμεν εκ πιστεως την ελπιδα της δικαιωσεως.
6 since in Christ Jesus it is not being circumcised or being uncircumcised that can effect anything -- onlyfaith working through love.	6 Διοτι εν Χριστω Ιησου ουτε περιτομη εχει ισχυν τινα, ουτε ακροβυστια, αλλα πιστις δι' αγαπης ενεργουμενη.
7 You began your race wel ; who came to obstruct you and stop you obeying the truth?	7 Ετρεχετε καλως? τις σας ημποδισεν ωστε να μη πειθησθε εις την αληθειαν;
8 It was certainly not any prompting from him who called you!	8 Η καταπεισις αυτη δεν ειναι εξ εκεινου, οστις σας καλει.
9 A pinch of yeast ferments the whole batch.	9 Ολιγη ζυμη καθιστα ολον το φυραμα ενζυμον.
10 But I feel sure that, united in the Lord, you wil not be led astray, and that anyone who makes troublewith you will be condemned, no matter who he is.	10 Εγω εχω πεποιθησιν εις εσας δια του Κυριου οτι δεν θελετε φρονησει ουδεν αλλο? οστις ομως σας ταραττει, αυτος θελει υποφερει την ποινην, οποιος και αν ηναι.
11 And I, brothers -- if I were stil preaching circumcision, why should I still be persecuted? For then theobstacle which is the cross would have no point any more.	11 Εγω δε, αδελφοι, εαν ακομη κηρυττω περιτομην, δια τι πλεον κατατρεχομαι; αρα κατηργηθη το σκανδαλον του σταυρου.
12 I could wish that those who are unsettling you would go further and mutilate themselves.	12 Ειθε να αποκοπωσιν οι ταραττοντες σας.
13 After al , brothers, you were called to be free; do not use your freedom as an opening for self-indulgence, but be servants to one another in love,	13 Διοτι σεις, αδελφοι, προσεκληθητε εις ελευθεριαν? μονον μη μεταχειριζεσθε την ελευθεριαν εις αφορμην της σαρκος, αλλα δια της αγαπης δουλευετε αλληλους.
14 since the whole of the Law is summarised in the one commandment: You must love your neighbour asyourself.	14 Διοτι ολος ο νομος εις ενα λογον συμπληρουται, εις τον, Θελεις αγαπα τον πλησιον σου ως σεαυτον.
15 If you go snapping at one another and tearing one another to pieces, take care: you will be eaten up byone another.	15 Εαν ομως δακνητε και κατατρωγητε αλληλους, προσεχετε μη υπ' αλληλων αφανισθητε.
16 Instead, I tel you, be guided by the Spirit, and you wil no longer yield to self-indulgence.	16 Λεγω λοιπον, Περιπατειτε κατα το Πνευμα και δεν θελετε εκπληροι την επιθυμιαν της σαρκος.
17 The desires of self-indulgence are always in opposition to the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are inopposition to self-indulgence: they are opposites, one against the other; that is how you are prevented fromdoing the things that you want to.	17 Διοτι η σαρξ επιθυμει εναντια του Πνευματος, το δε Πνευμα εναντια της σαρκος? ταυτα δε αντικεινται προς αλληλα, ωστε εκεινα, τα οποια θελετε, να μη πραττητε.
18 But when you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law.	18 Αλλ' εαν οδηγησθε υπο του Πνευματος, δεν εισθε υπο νομον.
19 When self-indulgence is at work the results are obvious: sexual vice, impurity, and sensuality,	19 Φανερα δε ειναι τα εργα της σαρκος, τα οποια ειναι μοιχεια, πορνεια, ακαθαρσια, ασελγεια,
20 the worship of false gods and sorcery; antagonisms and rivalry, jealousy, bad temper and quarrels,disagreements,	20 ειδωλολατρεια, φαρμακεια, εχθραι, εριδες, ζηλοτυπιαι, θυμοι, μαχαι, διχοστασιαι, αιρεσεις,
21 factions and malice, drunkenness, orgies and al such things. And about these, I tel you now as I havetold you in the past, that people who behave in these ways wil not inherit the kingdom of God.	21 φθονοι, φονοι, μεθαι, κωμοι, και τα ομοια τουτων, περι των οποιων σας προλεγω, καθως και προειπον, οτι οι τα τοιαυτα πραττοντες βασιλειαν Θεου δεν θελουσι κληρονομησει.
22 On the other hand the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustfulness,	22 Ο δε καρπος του Πνευματος ειναι αγαπη, χαρα, ειρηνη, μακροθυμια, χρηστοτης, αγαθωσυνη, πιστις,
23 gentleness and self-control; no law can touch such things as these.	23 πραοτης, εγκρατεια? κατα των τοιουτων δεν υπαρχει νομος.
24 All who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified self with al its passions and its desires.	24 Οσοι δε ειναι του Χριστου εσταυρωσαν την σαρκα ομου με τα παθη και τας επιθυμιας.
25 Since we are living by the Spirit, let our behaviour be guided by the Spirit	25 Εαν ζωμεν κατα το Πνευμα, ας περιπατωμεν και κατα το Πνευμα.
26 and let us not be conceited or provocative and envious of one another.	26 Μη γινωμεθα κενοδοξοι, αλληλους ερεθιζοντες, αλληλους φθονουντες.
