John 5

NEW JERUSALEM	KÁLDI-NEOVULGÁTA
1 After this there was a Jewish festival, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem.	1 Ezek után ünnepe volt a zsidóknak, és Jézus fölment Jeruzsálembe.
2 Now in Jerusalem next to the Sheep Pool there is a pool called Bethesda in Hebrew, which has fiveporticos;	2 Van Jeruzsálemben a Juh-kapunál egy fürdő, amelyet héberül Betezdának neveznek, és öt oszlopcsarnoka van.
3 and under these were crowds of sick people, blind, lame, paralysed.	3 Ezekben feküdt a betegek, vakok, sánták, bénák sokasága.

5 One man there had an il ness which had lasted thirty-eight years,	5 Volt ott egy ember, aki már harmincnyolc esztendő óta beteg volt.
6 and when Jesus saw him lying there and knew he had been in that condition for a long time, he said,'Do you want to be wel again?'	6 Mikor Jézus meglátta őt, hogy ott fekszik, és megtudta, hogy már sok idő óta van így, megkérdezte tőle: »Akarsz-e meggyógyulni?«
7 'Sir,' replied the sick man, 'I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is disturbed; and while Iam stil on the way, someone else gets down there before me.'	7 A beteg azt felelte: »Uram, nincs emberem, aki, amikor felkavarodik a víz, bevigyen engem a tóba. Mire pedig én odaérek, más megy be előttem.«
8 Jesus said, 'Get up, pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around.'	8 Jézus azt mondta neki: »Kelj föl, vedd ágyadat, és járj!«
9 The man was cured at once, and he picked up his mat and started to walk around. Now that dayhappened to be the Sabbath,	9 Az ember azonnal meggyógyult, fogta az ágyát és járni kezdett. Azon a napon pedig szombat volt.
10 so the Jews said to the man who had been cured, 'It is the Sabbath; you are not al owed to carry yoursleeping-mat.'	10 Ezért a zsidók azt mondták a meggyógyított embernek: »Szombat van, nem szabad az ágyadat vinned.«
11 He replied, 'But the man who cured me told me, "Pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around." '	11 Azt felelte nekik: »Aki meggyógyított engem, ő mondta nekem: ‘Vedd ágyadat, és járj.’«
12 They asked, 'Who is the man who said to you, "Pick up your sleeping-mat and walk around"? '	12 Erre megkérdezték tőle: »Ki az az ember, aki neked azt mondta: ‘Vedd ágyadat és járj’?«
13 The man had no idea who it was, since Jesus had disappeared, as the place was crowded.	13 A meggyógyult azonban nem tudta, hogy ki volt az, mert Jézus eltávozott a helyszínen levő tömegből.
14 After a while Jesus met him in the Temple and said, 'Now you are wel again, do not sin any more, orsomething worse may happen to you.'	14 Később Jézus találkozott vele a templomban, és azt mondta neki: »Íme, meggyógyultál, többé már ne vétkezz, nehogy valami rosszabb történjék veled.«
15 The man went back and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had cured him.	15 Az ember elment, és megvitte a hírt a zsidóknak, hogy Jézus volt az, aki meggyógyította őt.
16 It was because he did things like this on the Sabbath that the Jews began to harass Jesus.	16 A zsidók pedig üldözni kezdték Jézust azért, mert ezeket szombaton tette.
17 His answer to them was, 'My Father stil goes on working, and I am at work, too.'	17 Jézus azt felelte nekik: »Az én Atyám mindmáig munkálkodik, és én is munkálkodom.«
18 But that only made the Jews even more intent on kil ing him, because not only was he breaking theSabbath, but he spoke of God as his own Father and so made himself God's equal.	18 Ezért a zsidók még inkább életére törtek, mivel nemcsak megszegte a szombatot, hanem az Istent is Atyjának mondta, és egyenlővé tette magát az Istennel.
19 To this Jesus replied: In al truth I tel you, by himself the Son can do nothing; he can do only what hesees the Father doing: and whatever the Father does the Son does too.	19 Jézus azt felelte nekik: »Bizony, bizony mondom nektek: A Fiú nem tehet magától semmit, hanem csak azt, amit lát, hogy az Atya cselekszik. Mert amiket ő tesz, azokat cselekszi ugyanúgy a Fiú is.
20 For the Father loves the Son and shows him everything he himself does, and he wil show him evengreater things than these, works that will astonish you.	20 Az Atya ugyanis szereti a Fiút, és mindent megmutat neki, amit tesz. Ezeknél nagyobb dolgokat is mutat majd neki, hogy csodálkozzatok.
21 Thus, as the Father raises the dead and gives them life, so the Son gives life to anyone he chooses;	21 Mert amint az Atya feltámasztja a halottakat és életre kelti, úgy a Fiú is életre kelti, akiket akar.
22 for the Father judges no one; he has entrusted all judgement to the Son,	22 Az Atya nem ítél meg senkit, az ítéletet egészen a Fiúnak adta át,
23 so that al may honour the Son as they honour the Father. Whoever refuses honour to the Son refuseshonour to the Father who sent him.	23 hogy mindenki tisztelje a Fiút, mint ahogy tisztelik az Atyát. Aki nem tiszteli a Fiút, az Atyát sem tiszteli, aki őt küldte.
24 In al truth I tel you, whoever listens to my words, and believes in the one who sent me, has eternallife; without being brought to judgement such a person has passed from death to life.	24 Bizony, bizony mondom nektek: aki az én igémet hallgatja, és hisz annak, aki engem küldött, annak örök élete van, és nem ítéletre jut, hanem átment a halálból az életre.
25 In al truth I tel you, the hour is coming -- indeed it is already here -- when the dead wil hear the voiceof the Son of God, and al who hear it wil live.	25 Bizony, bizony mondom nektek: eljön az óra, és már itt is van, amikor a halottak meghallják az Isten Fiának szavát, és akik meghallották, élni fognak.
26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself;	26 Mert amint az Atyának élete van önmagában, ugyanúgy megadta a Fiúnak is, hogy élete legyen önmagában,
27 and, because he is the Son of man, has granted him power to give judgement.	27 és hatalmat adott neki, hogy ítéletet tartson, mivel ő az Emberfia.
28 Do not be surprised at this, for the hour is coming when the dead wil leave their graves at the sound ofhis voice:	28 Ne csodálkozzatok ezen, mert eljön az óra, amikor mindnyájan, akik a sírokban vannak, meghallják az ő szavát,
29 those who did good will come forth to life; and those who did evil will come forth to judgement.	29 és előjönnek: akik jót tettek, az élet feltámadására, akik pedig gonoszat tettek, az ítélet feltámadására.
30 By myself I can do nothing; I can judge only as I am told to judge, and my judging is just, because Iseek to do not my own wil but the wil of him who sent me.	30 Én nem tehetek magamtól semmit. Amint hallok, úgy ítélek, és ítéletem igazságos, mert nem a magam akaratát keresem, hanem annak akaratát, aki küldött engem.
31 Were I to testify on my own behalf, my testimony would not be true;	31 Ha én tanúskodom magamról, tanúságom nem érvényes.
32 but there is another witness who speaks on my behalf, and I know that his testimony is true.	32 Más az, aki tanúskodik énrólam, és tudom, hogy igaz az a tanúság, amelyet rólam tesz.
33 You sent messengers to John, and he gave his testimony to the truth-	33 Ti Jánost kérdeztétek, és ő tanúságot tett az igazságról.
34 not that I depend on human testimony; no, it is for your salvation that I mention it.	34 Nekem azonban nincs szükségem emberek tanúságtételére, csak azért mondom ezeket, hogy üdvözüljetek.
35 John was a lamp lit and shining and for a time you were content to enjoy the light that he gave.	35 Ő égő és világító lámpás volt, és ti egy ideig örvendezni akartatok az ő fényében.
36 But my testimony is greater than John's: the deeds my Father has given me to perform, these samedeeds of mine testify that the Father has sent me.	36 Nekem nagyobb bizonyítékom van Jánosnál. 39 You pore over the scriptures, believing that in them you can find eternal life; it is these scriptures thattestify to me,	39 Vizsgáljátok az Írásokat, hiszen azt gondoljátok, hogy azokban van örök élet számotokra. Éppen azok tesznek tanúságot rólam;
40 and yet you refuse to come to me to receive life!	40 ti azonban nem akartok hozzám jönni, hogy életetek legyen.
41 Human glory means nothing to me.	41 Emberektől nem fogadok el dicsőséget.
42 Besides, I know you too well: you have no love of God in you.	42 Rólatok viszont tudom, hogy nincs bennetek Isten szeretete.
43 I have come in the name of my Father and you refuse to accept me; if someone else should come inhis own name you would accept him.	43 Én Atyám nevében jöttem, és nem fogadtok el engem. Majd ha más jön a maga nevében, azt elfogadjátok.
44 How can you believe, since you look to each other for glory and are not concerned with the glory thatcomes from the one God?	44 Hogyan is tudnátok hinni ti, akik egymástól kaptok dicsőséget, de azt a dicsőséget, amely egyedül Istentől van, nem keresitek?
45 Do not imagine that I am going to accuse you before the Father: you have placed your hopes onMoses, and Moses wil be the one who accuses you.	45 Ne gondoljátok, hogy én foglak vádolni titeket az Atyánál! Van, aki vádol benneteket: Mózes, akiben reménykedtek.
46 If you real y believed him you would believe me too, since it was about me that he was writing;	46 Mert ha Mózesnek hinnétek, talán nekem is hinnétek, mert ő énrólam írt.
47 but if you wil not believe what he wrote, how can you believe what I say?	47 Ha pedig az ő írásainak nem hisztek, hogyan hinnétek az én igéimnek?«
