Luke 20

1 Now it happened that one day while he was teaching the people in the Temple and proclaiming thegood news, the chief priests and the scribes came up, together with the elders,	1 Történt pedig, hogy egy napon, amikor a népet tanította a templomban és az evangéliumot hirdette, odamentek a főpapok és az írástudók a vénekkel együtt,
2 and spoke to him. 'Tel us,' they said, 'what authority have you for acting like this? Or who gives youthis authority?'	2 és így szóltak hozzá: »Mondd meg nekünk, milyen hatalommal teszed ezeket, vagy ki adta neked ezt a hatalmat?«
3 In reply he said to them, 'And I will ask you a question, just one. Tel me:	3 Ő így válaszolt nekik: »Én is kérdezek tőletek valamit: Mondjátok meg nekem,
4 John's baptism: what was its origin, heavenly or human?'	4 János keresztsége a mennyből való volt-e vagy az emberektől?«
5 And they debated this way among themselves, 'If we say heavenly, he will retort, "Why did you refuseto believe him?";	5 Azok így tanakodtak egymás között: »Ha azt mondjuk: ‘A mennyből volt’, azt fogja felelni: ‘Miért nem hittetek hát neki?’
6 and if we say human, the whole people wil stone us, for they are convinced that John was a prophet.'	6 Ha pedig azt mondjuk: ‘Az emberektől’, akkor az egész nép megkövez bennünket, mert meg van győződve, hogy János próféta.«
7 So their reply was that they did not know where it came from.	7 Ezért azt válaszolták, hogy nem tudják, honnét való.
8 And Jesus said to them, 'Nor wil I tell you my authority for acting like this.'	8 Erre Jézus azt mondta nekik: »Akkor én sem mondom meg nektek, hogy milyen hatalommal teszem ezeket.«
9 And he went on to tel the people this parable, 'A man planted a vineyard and leased it to tenants, andwent abroad for a long while.	9 A népnek pedig ezt a példabeszédet kezdte mondani: »Egy ember szőlőt ültetett. Kiadta bérbe a szőlőműveseknek, azután elutazott hosszabb időre.
10 When the right time came, he sent a servant to the tenants to get his share of the produce of thevineyard. But the tenants thrashed him, and sent him away empty-handed.	10 Amikor eljött az ideje, elküldött egy szolgát a szőlőművesekhez, hogy a szőlő terméséből adják oda neki a ráeső részt. De a szőlőmunkások megverték, és üres kézzel elkergették.
11 But he went on to send a second servant; they thrashed him too and treated him shamefully and senthim away empty-handed.	11 Ekkor egy másik szolgát küldött; azok azonban azt is megverték, gyalázattal illették, és üres kézzel elkergették.
12 He still went on to send a third; they wounded this one too, and threw him out.	12 Erre egy harmadikat is küldött; de azok azt is megsebesítették és kidobták.
13 Then the owner of the vineyard thought, "What am I to do? I wil send them my own beloved son.Perhaps they wil respect him."	13 Akkor a szőlő ura így szólt: ‘Mit tegyek? Elküldöm az én kedves fiamat; őt talán megbecsülik.’
14 But when the tenants saw him they put their heads together saying, "This is the heir, let us kil him sothat the inheritance wil be ours."	14 A szőlőművesek azonban, amikor meglátták őt, így tanakodtak maguk között: ‘Ez az örökös; öljük meg, és miénk lesz az örökség!’
15 So they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. 'Now what wil the owner of the vineyard do tothem?	15 Aztán kidobták őt a szőlőből és megölték. Mit tesz velük ezután a szőlő ura?
16 He wil come and make an end of these tenants and give the vineyard to others.' Hearing this theysaid, 'God forbid!'	16 Odamegy és elpusztítja azokat a szőlőműveseket, a szőlőt pedig másoknak adja.« Amikor meghallották ezt, így szóltak: »Távol legyen tőlünk!«
17 But he looked hard at them and said, 'Then what does this text in the scriptures mean: The stonewhich the builders rejected has become the cornerstone?	17 Ő azonban végignézett rajtuk és megkérdezte: »Mit jelent hát az, ami írva van: ‘A kő, amelyet az építők elvetettek, szegletkővé lett’?
18 Anyone who fal s on that stone will be dashed to pieces; anyone it fal s on wil be crushed.'	18 Mindaz, aki erre a kőre ráesik, összezúzódik, akire pedig ez ráesik, szétmorzsolja azt.«
19 And the scribes and the chief priests would have liked to lay hands on him that very moment,because they realised that this parable was aimed at them, but they were afraid of the people.	19 Abban az órában a főpapok és az írástudók kezet akartak emelni rá, de féltek a néptől; megértették ugyanis, hogy róluk mondta ezt a példabeszédet.
20 So they awaited their opportunity and sent agents to pose as upright men, and to catch him out insomething he might say and so enable them to hand him over to the jurisdiction and authority of the governor.	20 Hogy szemmel tartsák őt, megfigyelőket küldtek, akik magukat igazaknak tettették, hogy megfoghassák őt beszéde alapján, és a hatóság és a helytartó hatalmába adhassák.
21 They put to him this question, 'Master, we know that you say and teach what is right; you favour noone, but teach the way of God in al honesty.	21 Ezek megkérdezték tőle: »Mester! Tudjuk, hogy helyesen szólsz és tanítasz, s hogy nem vagy személyválogató, hanem igazságban tanítod az Isten útját.
22 Is it permissible for us to pay taxes to Caesar or not?'	22 Szabad-e adót fizetnünk a császárnak, vagy nem?«
23 But he was aware of their cunning and said,	23 Ő észrevette álnokságukat, és azt mondta nekik:
24 'Show me a denarius. Whose portrait and title are on it?' They said, 'Caesar's.'	24 »Mutassatok nekem egy dénárt. Kinek a képe és felirata van rajta?« Azt felelték neki: »A császáré.«
25 He said to them, 'Well then, pay Caesar what belongs to Caesar -- and God what belongs to God.'	25 Erre azt mondta nekik: »Adjátok hát meg a császárnak, ami a császáré, és Istennek, ami az Istené.«
26 They were unable to catch him out in anything he had to say in public; they were amazed at hisanswer and were silenced.	26 Így nem tudtak belekötni szavaiba, melyeket a nép előtt mondott; inkább elcsodálkoztak feleletén, és elhallgattak.
27 Some Sadducees -- those who argue that there is no resurrection -- approached him and they putthis question to him,	27 Odamentek hozzá néhányan a szaddúceusok közül, akik tagadják a feltámadást, és megkérdezték őt:
28 'Master, Moses prescribed for us, if a man's married brother dies childless, the man must marry thewidow to raise up children for his brother.	28 »Mester, Mózes előírta nekünk: Ha valakinek meghal a testvére, akinek felesége volt, de gyermeke nem, akkor a testvér vegye el az asszonyt, és támasszon utódot testvérének .
29 Wel then, there were seven brothers; the first, having married a wife, died childless.	29 Volt hét testvér. Az első megnősült, aztán meghalt gyermek nélkül.
30 The second	30 Előbb a második,
31 and then the third married the widow. And the same with al seven, they died leaving no children.	31 majd a harmadik vette feleségül őt, és hasonlóképpen mind a heten, gyermeket nem hagyva, mind meghaltak.
32 Finally the woman herself died.	32 Végül meghalt az asszony is.
33 Now, at the resurrection, whose wife will she be, since she had been married to all seven?'	33 A feltámadáskor ezek közül kinek lesz a felesége az asszony? Hiszen mind a hétnek felesége volt.«
34 Jesus replied, 'The children of this world take wives and husbands,	34 Jézus ezt felelte nekik: »E világ fiai házasodnak és férjhez mennek.
35 but those who are judged worthy of a place in the other world and in the resurrection from the deaddo not marry	35 Azok pedig, akik méltók lesznek elnyerni a másik világot és a halálból való föltámadást, nem házasodnak, és férjhez sem mennek,
36 because they can no longer die, for they are the same as the angels, and being children of theresurrection they are children of God.	36 hiszen többé már meg sem halhatnak. Hasonlók lesznek ugyanis az angyalokhoz, és Isten fiai lesznek, mert a feltámadás fiai.
37 And Moses himself implies that the dead rise again, in the passage about the bush where he cal s theLord the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.	37 Hogy pedig a halottak feltámadnak, azt Mózes is jelezte a csipkebokornál, amikor az Urat ‘Ábrahám Istenének, Izsák Istenének és Jákob Istenének’ mondta.
38 Now he is God, not of the dead, but of the living; for to him everyone is alive.'	38 Isten pedig nem a holtaké, hanem az élőké, hiszen mindenki érte él.«
39 Some scribes then spoke up. They said, 'Wel put, Master.'	39 Ekkor néhány írástudó azt mondta neki: »Mester! Helyesen feleltél.«
40 They did not dare to ask him any more questions.	40 És többé nem mertek kérdezni tőle semmit.
41 He then said to them, 'How can people maintain that the Christ is son of David?	41 Ekkor ő kérdezte meg tőlük: »Hogyan mondhatják Krisztust Dávid fiának,
42 Why, David himself says in the Book of Psalms: The Lord declared to my Lord, take your seat at myright hand,	42 amikor maga Dávid mondja a zsoltárok könyvében: ‘Így szólt az Úr az én Uramhoz: Ülj az én jobbomra,
43 til I have made your enemies your footstool.	43 míg ellenségeidet lábad zsámolyává nem teszem!’
44 David here cal s him Lord; how then can he be his son?'	44 Dávid tehát Urának hívja őt. Hogyan lehet akkor az ő fia?«
45 While al the people were listening he said to the disciples,	45 Ezután az egész nép hallatára ezt mondta tanítványainak:
46 'Beware of the scribes who like to walk about in long robes and love to be greeted respectfully in themarket squares, to take the front seats in the synagogues and the places of honour at banquets,	46 »Óvakodjatok az írástudóktól, akik szeretnek pompás öltözékben járni, és kedvelik azt, ha köszöntik őket a tereken, meg az első üléseket a zsinagógákban, és a főhelyeket a lakomákon.
47 who devour the property of widows, and for show offer long prayers. The more severe will be thesentence they receive.'	47 Felélik az özvegyek házát, miközben színleg nagyokat imádkoznak. Ezekre súlyosabb ítélet vár.«
