Haggai 2

NEW JERUSALEM	Pattloch Bibel
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 Im zweiten Jahr des Königs Darius, am 21. Tag des siebten Monats, erging das Wort des Herrn durch den Propheten Haggaj folgendermaßen:
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 "Sprich zu Serubbabel, dem Sohn Schealtiels, dem Statthalter von Juda, und zum Hohenpriester Josua, dem Sohn Jozadaks, sowie zum Rest des Volkes:
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 Wer ist unter euch noch übrig, der dieses Haus in seiner früheren Herrlichkeit gesehen hat, und wie seht ihr es jetzt? Kommt es euch nicht vor wie nichts?
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 Doch nun fasse Mut, Serubbabel - Spruch des Herrn -, fasse Mut, Hoherpriester Josua, Sohn Jozadaks, fasse Mut, alles Volk des Landes, - Spruch des Herrn -, und schafft; denn ich bin mit euch - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen.
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 Gemäß dem Bunde, den ich mit euch bei eurem Auszug aus Ägypten schloß, bleibt mein Geist in eurer Mitte. Fürchtet euch nicht!
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 Denn so spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Nur noch eine kleine Weile, kurze Zeit, und ich erschüttere Himmel und Erde, Meer und Festland.
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 Erschüttern will ich alle Völker; dann kommen die Kostbarkeiten aller Völker herbei; und ich erfülle dieses Haus mit Herrlichkeit - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen.
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 Mein ist das Silber, und mein ist das Gold - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen.
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 Die künftige Herrlichkeit dieses Hauses wird größer sein als die frühere, spricht der Herr der Heerscharen, und an dieser Stätte spende ich Heil - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen."
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 Am 24. Tag des neunten Monats im zweiten Jahr des Königs Darius erging das Wort des Herrn an den Propheten Haggaj:
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 "So spricht der Herr der Heerscharen: Bitte doch die Priester um Weisung für folgenden Fall:
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 Trägt jemand heiliges Opferfleisch im Zipfel seines Gewandes und berührt mit seinem Gewandzipfel Brot oder Gekochtes, Wein, Öl oder sonst ein Nahrungsmittel, wird dann dieses heilig?" Die Priester gaben zur Antwort: "Nein!"
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 Darauf erwiderte Haggaj: "Wenn nun einer, der durch eine Leiche unrein wurde, all dies berührt, wird es dann unrein?" Die Priester antworteten: "Ja, es wird unrein!"
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 Da hob Haggaj an und sprach: "So sind diese Leute, und so ist dieses Volk vor mir - Spruch des Herrn -, so ist alles Werk ihrer Hände und was sie dort darbringen: Unrein ist es!
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Und nun, bedenkt doch die Zeit von heute an rückwärts! Ehe man am Tempel des Herrn Stein zu Stein fügte,
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 wie stand es da um euch? Kam man zu einem Getreidehaufen, der zwanzig (Epha) liefern sollte, so waren es nur zehn; kam man zur Kelter, um fünfzig (Bat) aus der Kufe zu schöpfen, so waren es nur zwanzig.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 Ich schlug bei euch mit Getreidebrand, Gilbe und Hagel alles Werk eurer Hände; aber ihr habt euch nicht zu mir bekehrt - Spruch des Herrn.
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Bedenkt doch die Zeit von heute an rückwärts! [Vom 24. Tag des neunten Monats an] vom Tage an, da der Grund zum Tempel des Herrn gelegt wurde! Bedenkt,
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 ob auch ferner noch die Saat im Speicher verbleibt, und ob auch ferner noch Weinstock und Feigenbaum, Granatapfel- und Ölbaum nicht tragen! Von diesem Tage an spende ich Segen."
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 Da erging das Wort des Herrn nochmals an Haggaj am 24. Tag des Monats:
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 "Sprich zu Serubbabel, dem Statthalter von Juda: Himmel und Erde werde ich erschüttern.
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 Ich stürze Königsthrone und vernichte die Macht der Reiche der Völker. Ich stürze Streitwagen und Fahrer; Rosse und ihre Lenker sinken darnieder, ein jeder durch das Schwert seines Bruders!
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 An jenem Tag - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen - nehme ich dich, mein Knecht Serubbabel, Sohn des Schealtiel - Spruch des Herrn -, und mache dich gleichsam zum Siegelring; denn dich habe ich erwählt - Spruch des Herrn der Heerscharen."
