NEW JERUSALEM	BIBLES DES PEUPLES
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 Le vingt et unième jour du septième mois de la deuxième année du roi Darius, le prophète Aggée fut chargé de cette parole de Yahvé:
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 “Voici ce que tu diras à Zorobabel fils de Chéaltiel, gouverneur de Juda, à Josué fils de Yosadak, le grand prêtre, et au reste du peuple:
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 Y en a-t-il encore parmi vous qui ont connu ce Temple dans sa gloire passée? Et comment le voyez-vous maintenant? Ce n’est pas grand chose, n’est-ce pas?
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 Mais maintenant courage, Zorobabel - parole de Yahvé! Courage, Josué fils de Yosadak, grand prêtre! Et vous aussi tout le peuple du pays, courage - parole de Yahvé! Mettez-vous au travail car je serai avec vous - parole de Yahvé Sabaot.
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 Mon esprit est au milieu de vous, n’ayez pas peur.
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 Voici ce que dit Yahvé Sabaot: Encore un peu de temps et j’ébranlerai les cieux et la terre, la mer et la terre ferme.
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 Je secouerai toutes les nations, et tous leurs objets précieux arriveront ici. Je remplirai de gloire ce Temple - parole de Yahvé.
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 À moi l’argent, à moi l’or - parole de Yahvé Sabaot.
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 La gloire de ce deuxième Temple sera plus grande que celle du premier - parole de Yahvé Sabaot; dans ce lieu je mettrai la paix - parole de Yahvé Sabaot.
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 On était au vingt-quatrième jour du neuvième mois de la deuxième année de Darius; cette parole de Yahvé fut confiée au prophète Aggée:
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 “Voici ce que dit Yahvé Sabaot: Consulte donc les prêtres sur ce que dit la Loi.
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 Si un homme porte de la viande consacrée dans le pan de son habit, et avec le pan de son habit il touche du pain, du bouillon, du vin, de l’huile ou tout autre aliment, est-ce que cela sera consacré?” Ils répondirent: “Non.”
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 Aggée demanda encore: “Si quelqu’un est devenu impur en touchant un cadavre, et s’il touche ensuite à l’une de ces choses, seront-elles impures?” Les prêtres répondirent: “Oui, elles seront impures.”
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 Aggée prit alors la parole et leur dit: “Voilà bien ce qui arrive à ce peuple, voilà comment est cette nation devant moi - parole de Yahvé. Toutes leurs actions sont impures et ce qu’ils offrent est donc impur.”
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Regardez bien ce qui arrivera à partir d’aujourd’hui. Avant de monter pierre sur pierre pour le Temple de Yahvé,
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 que se passait-il? On venait à un tas de 20 mesures, mais il n’y en avait que 10; on venait à une cuve pour puiser 50 mesures, mais il n’y en avait que 20.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 Je vous ai fait perdre tout le travail de vos mains par les insectes, les pucerons et la grêle, mais vous ne reveniez pas à moi - parole de Yahvé.
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Ouvrez donc les yeux à partir d’aujourd’hui et pour l’avenir, à partir de ce vingt-quatrième jour du neuvième mois où l’on a posé les fondations du Temple de Yahvé.
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 Regardez si la graine manquera encore dans le grenier. Voyez si la vigne, le figuier, le grenadier, l’olivier ne donneront rien. Car à partir d’aujourd’hui je vais vous bénir.
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 Le 24 du mois la parole de Yahvé fut adressée une seconde fois à Aggée:
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 “Dis ceci à Zorobabel, gouverneur de Juda: Je vais ébranler les cieux et la terre,
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 je renverserai les trônes des royaumes, j’abattrai la puissance des royaumes païens, je renverserai le char et ceux qui le montent, je jetterai à terre les chevaux et leurs cavaliers; eux-mêmes se massacreront entre frères.
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 Mais en ce jour-là - parole de Yahvé Sabaot - je te prendrai, toi mon serviteur Zorobabel fils de Chéaltiel - parole de Yahvé, et tu seras comme un anneau à mon doigt, gravé à mon Nom, car c’est toi que j’ai choisi - parole de Yahvé Sabaot.”
