Haggai 2

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 El día veintiuno del séptimo mes, la palabra del Señor llegó, por medio del profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 Di a Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, gobernador de Judá, a Josué, hijo de Iehosadac, el Sumo Sacerdote, y al resto del pueblo:
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 ¿Queda alguien entre ustedes que haya visto esta Casa en su antiguo esplendor? ¿Y qué es lo que ven ahora? ¿No es como nada ante sus ojos?
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 ¡Animo, Zorobabel! –oráculo del Señor–. ¡Animo, Josué, hijo de Iehosadac, Sumo Sacerdote! ¡Animo, todo el pueblo del país! –oráculo del Señor–. ¡Manos a la obra! Porque yo estoy con ustedes –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 según el compromiso que contraje con ustedes cuando salieron de Egipto, y mi espíritu permanece en medio de ustedes. ¡No teman!
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 Porque así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Dentro de poco tiempo, yo haré estremecer el cielo y la tierra, el mar y el suelo firme.
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 haré estremecer a todas las naciones: entonces afluirán los tesoros de todas las naciones y llenaré de gloria esta Casa dice el Señor de los ejércitos.
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 ¡Son míos el oro y la plata! –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 la gloria última de esta Casa será más grande que la primera, dice el Señor de los ejército, y en este lugar yo daré la paz –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos–.
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 El día veinticuatro del noveno mes el segundo año de Darío, la palabra del Señor llegó al profeta Ageo, en estos términos:
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 Así habla el Señor de los ejércitos: Consulta a los sacerdotes sobre el caso siguiente:
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 Si alguien lleva en los pliegues de su ropa carne ofrecida en sacrificio y toca con ellos pan, caldo, vino, aceite o cualquier clase de alimentos, ¿todo esto quedará consagrado? Los sacerdotes respondieron: «¡No!».
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 Ageo prosiguió: Si alguien contaminado por un cadáver toca alguna de estas cosas, quedarán impuras? Los sacerdotes respondieron: ¡Sí, quedarán impuras!
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 Entonces Ageo tomó la palabra y dijo: ¡Así es este pueblo! ¡Así es esta nación delante de mí! –oráculo del Señor– ¡Así es toda la obra de sus manos! ¡Y lo que ellos ofrecen aquí es impuro!».
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Y ahora reflexionen desde hoy en adelante. Antes de poner piedra sobre piedra en el Templo del Señor,
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 ¿qué les pasaba a ustedes? Alguien iba a pesar un montón de grano estimado en veinte medidas, y no había mas que diez; iba al lagar para sacar cincuenta medidas, y no había más que veinte.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 Yo los castigué con la sequía, el pulgón y el granizo en toda la obra de sus manos, ¡pero ustedes no han vuelto a mi! –oráculo del Señor–.
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Reflexionen desde hoy en adelante, desde el día veinticuatro del noveno mes en que se pusieron los cimientos del Templo del Señor. Reflexionen:
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 ¿Queda aún semilla en el granero? ¿todavía no han dado nada la vid, la higuera, el granado y el olivo? A partir de este día, yo daré mi bendición.
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 La palabra del Señor llegó por segunda vez a Ageo, el día veinticuatro del mismo mes, en estos términos:
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 Habla a Zorobabel, gobernador de Judá, y dile: Yo haré estremecer el cielo y la tierra,
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 derribaré el trono de los reinos y destruiré el poder de los reinos de las naciones; derribaré los carros y sus conductores, los caballos y sus jinetes caerán abatidos, cada uno bajo la espada de su hermano.
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 Aquel día –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos– yo te tomaré a ti, Zorobabel, hijo de Sealtiel, mi servidor –oráculo del Señor– y haré de ti un anillo para sellar, porque yo te he elegido –oráculo del Señor de los ejércitos
