Haggai 2

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 Il settimo mese, il giorno ventunesimo del mese, fu rivolta la parola del Signore al profeta Aggeo:
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 "Parla a Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, governatore della Giudea, e a Giosuè, figlio di Iozedàk, grande sacerdote, e a tutto il resto del popolo così:
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 "Chi c'è rimasto tra voi che ha visto questa casa nel suo primo splendore? E come la vedete ora? Non sembra un niente ai vostri occhi?
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 Or dunque, coraggio, Zorobabele! Oracolo del Signore. Coraggio Giosuè, figlio di Iozedàk, gran sacerdote! Coraggio, popolo tutto del paese! Oracolo del Signore. E al lavoro! Ché io sono con voi! Oracolo del Signore.
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 Il mio Spirito è in mezzo a voi, non temete!
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 Perché così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Ancora un poco e scuoterò il cielo e la terra, il mare e il continente;
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 scuoterò tutti i popoli e i tesori di tutti i popoli affluiranno e riempirò di gloria questa casa, dice il Signore degli eserciti.
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 Mio è l'argento e mio è l'oro! Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti.
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 La gloria di questa seconda casa sarà maggiore di quella della prima, dice il Signore degli eserciti, e a questo luogo io darò la pace. Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti".
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 Il ventiquattro del nono mese, il secondo anno di Dario, fu rivolta la parola del Signore al profeta Aggeo:
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 "Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Chiedi ai sacerdoti una decisione in questi termini:
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 Se uno porta della carne santificata in un lembo della sua veste e con il lembo tocca il pane, le vivande, il vino, l'olio o qualunque altro alimento, queste cose saranno santificate?". I sacerdoti risposero: "No!".
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 Aggeo continuò: "Se uno, che si è contaminato per il contatto di un cadavere, tocca qualcuna di quelle cose, diventerà essa pure immonda?". E i sacerdoti risposero dicendo: "Sì, diventerà immonda!".
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 Allora Aggeo riprese a dire: "Così è questo popolo, così è questa nazione al mio cospetto! Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti. Così è ogni lavoro delle loro mani e quanto mi offrono: è immondo!
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Ora: tenete bene a mente da oggi e per l'avvenire! Prima che si ponesse pietra su pietra nel santuario del Signore,
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 cosa eravate? Si veniva a un mucchio da cui si attendevano venti misure di grano e ve n'erano dieci; si veniva al tino per cavare cinquanta barili e ce n'erano solo venti.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 Ho colpito col carbonchio e con la ruggine, con la grandine ogni lavoro delle vostre mani; voi però non siete tornati a me. Oracolo del Signore.
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Ora dunque tenete bene a mente da oggi e per l'avvenire:
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 il seme manca ancora nel granaio? La vite, il fico, il melograno e l'ulivo non hanno dato ancora i loro frutti? Da oggi io vi benedico!".
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 La parola del Signore fu rivolta ad Aggeo per la seconda volta il ventiquattresimo giorno del mese:
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 "Parla a Zorobabele, governatore della Giudea e digli: Io scuoterò il cielo e la terra,
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 rovescerò il trono dei regni, distruggerò la potenza delle nazioni. Rovescerò carri e cavalieri, uno con la spada dell'altro!
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 In quel giorno, oracolo del Signore degli eserciti, ti prenderò, Zorobabele, figlio di Sealtièl, mio servo, oracolo del Signore, e ti terrò come il sigillo, perché ti ho scelto. Oracolo del Signore degli eserciti".
