Haggai 2

NEW JERUSALEM	BIBBIA TINTORI
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 (Ciò avvenne) il ventiquattro del sesto mese, l'anno secondo del re Dario.
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 Nel settimo mese, il ventuno del mese, il Signore parlò per mezzo del profeta Aggeo, e disse:
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 « Parla a Zorobabele, figlio di Salatiel, principe di Giuda, e a Gesù, figlio di losedec, sommo sa­cerdote, e al resto del popolo, e di' loro:
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 Chi di voi ha avuto tanto di vita da aver veduta que­sta casa nella sua prima gloria? Che ve ne pare di questa? Non Vi sembra come un niente?
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 Ma su, fatti coraggio, o Zorobabele — dice il Signore — fatti animo, o Gesù, figlio di Iosedec, sommo sacerdote, coraggio, o popolo tutto quanto, — dice il Signore — lavorate; perchè io sono con voi — dice il Signore degli eserciti. —
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 E' un impegno che io ho preso con voi fin da quando usciste dall'Egitto: il mio spirito sarà in mezzo a voi: non temete.
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 Ecco infatti quanto dice il Signore degli eserciti: Ancora un poco, ed io metterò in movimento il cielo e la terra, il mare, il mondo,
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 metterò in movimento tutte le nazioni, perchè verrà il Desiderato da tutte le genti; e riempirò di gloria questa casa, — dice il Signore degli eserciti. —
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 Mio è l'argento, mio è l'oro. — dice il Signore degli eserciti —
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 grande sarà la gloria di questa casa, e di quest'ultima più che della prima: in questo luogo io darò la pace dice il Signore degli eserciti ».
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 Al ventiquattro del nono mese, l'anno secondo del re Dario, la parola del Signore fu indirizzata al profeta Aggeo, in questi termini:
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 « Così parla il Signore degli eserciti: Rivolgi ai sacerdoti questa quistione sulla legge:
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 « Se un uomo porta della carne santificata nel lembo del suo vestito, e col lembo del vestito tocca o pane o pietanza o vino o olio od altro alimento, sarà ciò santificato? » E i sacerdoti risposero e dissero: « No ».
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 E Aggeo disse: « Se uno, immondo a causa d'un morto, toccherà una di queste cose, sarà essa contaminata? » E i sacerdoti risposero e dissero: « Sarà contaminata ».
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Allora Aggeo, prendendo la parola, disse: « Così è questo popolo, così è questa nazione davanti a me — dice il Signore — così sono tutte le opere delle loro mani e tutto ciò che ivi hanno offerto: tutto sarà immondo.
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 Ed ora riflettete a ciò che fu da questo giorno addietro, avanti che voi poneste pietra sopra pietra nel tempio del Signore.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 Allora, dato che vi accostaste ad un mucchio di venti moggia, diventava di dieci, e se andavate allo strettoio per pigiarvi cinquanta barili, diventavan venti.
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Io vi ho colpiti col vento infocato, colla ruggine, colla grandine in tutte le opere delle vostre mani, e di voi non c'è stato nessuno che sia tornato a me — dice il Signore —
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 ma fateci attenzione da questo giorno in avvenire, dal giorno ventiquattro del nono mese, dal giorno in cui furon gettate le fondamenta del tempio del Signore, fateci attenzione.
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 Forse germina già il seme? (Che vuol dire se) ancora la vite, il fico, i melogranati e gli ulivi non han fiorito? Ma fin da questo giorno io darò loro le benedizioni ».
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 E la parola del Signore fu indirizzata per la seconda volta, il ventiquattro del mese, ad Aggeo, in questi termini:
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 « Parla a Zorobabele duce di Giuda, e digli: To metterò in movimento il cielo e la terra,
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 e abbatterò il trono dei regni, e distruggerò la potenza del regno delle nazioni, e rovescierò i cocchi e i loro cocchieri, cadranno i cavalli e i loro cavalieri, l'uomo (cadrà) sotto la spada del proprio fratello.
	24 In quel tempo — dice il Signore degli eserciti — io ti prenderò, o Zorobabele, figlio di Salatiel, mio servo — dice il Signore — e ti terrò come un anello da sigillare, perchè ti ho eletto — dice il Signore degli eserciti ».
