Haggai 2

NEW JERUSALEM	JERUSALEM
1 on the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of Yahweh was addressed through the prophetHaggai, as follows,	1 au septième mois, le vingt et unième jour du mois, la parole de Yahvé fut adressée par le ministère duprophète Aggée en ces termes:
2 'You are to speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel governor of Judah, to Joshua son of Jehozadak thehigh priest and to the remnant of the people. Say this,	2 Parle donc ainsi à Zorobabel, fils de Shéaltiel, gouverneur de Juda, à Josué, fils de Yehoçadaq, legrand prêtre, et au reste du peuple.
3 "Is there anyone left among you who saw this Temple in its former glory? And how does it look to younow? Does it not seem as though there is nothing there?	3 Quel est parmi vous le survivant qui a vu ce Temple dans sa gloire passée? Et comment le voyez-vous maintenant? A vos yeux, n'est-il pas pareil à un rien?
4 But take courage now, Zerubbabel!-Yahweh declares. Courage, Joshua son of Jehozadak high priest!Courage, al you people of the country!-Yahweh declares. To work! I am with you -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares-	4 Mais à présent, courage, Zorobabel! oracle de Yahvé. Courage, Josué, fils de Yehoçadaq, grandprêtre! Courage, tout le peuple du pays! oracle de Yahvé. Au travail! Car je suis avec vous - oracle de YahvéSabaot --
5 and my spirit is present among you. Do not be afraid!	5 et mon Esprit demeure au milieu de vous. Ne craignez pas!
6 For Yahweh Sabaoth says this: A little while now, and I shal shake the heavens and the earth, the seaand the dry land.	6 Car ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot. Encore un très court délai et j'ébranlerai le ciel et la terre, la mer et lesol ferme.
7 I shal shake al the nations, and the treasures of al the nations will flow in, and I shal fil this Templewith glory, says Yahweh Sabaoth.	7 J'ébranlerai toutes les nations, alors afflueront les trésors de toutes les nations et j'emplirai de gloirece Temple, dit Yahvé Sabaot.
8 Mine is the silver, mine the gold!-Yahweh Sabaoth declares.	8 A moi l'argent! à moi l'or! oracle de Yahvé Sabaot.
9 The glory of this new Temple wil surpass that of the old, says Yahweh Sabaoth, and in this place I shalgive peace -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares." '	9 La gloire à venir de ce Temple dépassera l'ancienne, dit Yahvé Sabaot, et dans ce lieu je donnerai lapaix, oracle de Yahvé Sabaot.
10 On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of Yahweh wasaddressed to the prophet Haggai as fol ows,	10 Le vingt-quatrième jour du neuvième mois, la deuxième année de Darius, la parole de Yahvé futadressée au prophète Aggée en ces termes:
11 'Yahweh Sabaoth says this, "Ask the priests to give a ruling on this:	11 Ainsi parle Yahvé Sabaot. Demande donc aux prêtres une décision, en ces termes:
12 If someone is carrying consecrated meat in the fold of his gown and al ows the fold to touch bread,broth, wine, oil or food of any kind, wil that become holy?" ' The priests replied, 'No.'	12 "Si quelqu'un porte de la viande sacrifiée dans le pan de son vêtement et touche avec son vêtementdu pain, un mets, du vin, de l'huile et toute sorte d'aliment, cela deviendra-t-il saint?" Les prêtres répondirent etdirent: "Non!"
13 Haggai then said, 'If anyone rendered unclean by contact with a corpse touches any of these things,wil that become unclean?' The priests replied, 'It wil become unclean.'	13 Et Aggée dit: "Si quelqu'un, rendu impur par un cadavre, touche à tout cela, cela deviendra-t-ilimpur?" Les prêtres répondirent et dirent: "Cela deviendra impur!"
14 Haggai then spoke out. 'It is the same with this people,' he said, 'the same with this nation, in my view-- Yahweh declares -- the same with everything they turn their hands to; and whatever they offer here is unclean.	14 Alors Aggée prit la parole en ces termes: "Ainsi en est-il de ce peuple! Ainsi de cette nation devantma face! oracle de Yahvé. Ainsi en est-il de tout le travail de leurs mains, et ce qu'ils offrent ici est impur."
15 'So now think carefully, today and henceforth: before one stone had been laid on another in thesanctuary of Yahweh,	15 Et maintenant réfléchissez bien en votre coeur, à partir d'aujourd'hui et pour l'avenir. Avant qu'onplaçât pierre sur pierre dans le sanctuaire de Yahvé,
16 what state were you in? You would come to a twenty-measure heap and find only ten; you wouldcome to a vat to draw fifty measures and find only twenty.	16 quelle était votre condition? On venait à un tas de vingt mesures, mais il n'y en avait que dix; onvenait à une cuve puiser 50 mesures, mais il n'y en avait que vingt.
17 Everything you turned your hands to, I struck with wind-blast, mildew and hail, and stil you would notreturn to me -- Yahweh declares.	17 J'ai frappé par la rouille, la nielle et la grêle tout le travail de vos mains, et vous n'êtes pas revenus àmoi, oracle de Yahvé!
18 So think careful y, today and henceforth (from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, from the daythe foundation of the sanctuary of Yahweh was laid, think careful y)	18 Réfléchissez donc en votre coeur, à partir d'aujourd'hui et pour l'avenir, (depuis le vingt-quatrièmejour du neuvième mois, depuis le jour où l'on posa la fondation du sanctuaire de Yahvé, considérezattentivement)
19 if seed-corn is stil short in the barn, and if vine and fig tree, pomegranate and olive tree still bear nofruit. 'From today onwards I intend to bless you.'	19 si le grain manque encore au grenier et si encore vigne, figuier, grenadier et olivier ne produisentpas de fruit! A partir d'aujourd'hui, je bénirai!
20 On the twenty-fourth day of the month the word of Yahweh was addressed a second time to Haggai,as fol ows,	20 La parole de Yahvé fut adressée une deuxième fois à Aggée, le vingt-quatrième jour du mois, en cestermes:
21 'Speak to Zerubbabel governor of Judah. Say this, "I am going to shake the heavens and the earth.	21 Parle ainsi à Zorobabel, le gouverneur de Juda. Je vais ébranler cieux et terre.
22 I shal overturn the thrones of kingdoms and destroy the power of the kings of the nations. I shalloverthrow the chariots and their crews; horses and their riders wil fall, every one to the sword of his comrade.	22 Je vais renverser les trônes des royaumes et détruire la puissance des rois des nations. Je renverseraila charrerie et ses équipages; les chevaux et leurs cavaliers seront abattus, chacun sous l'épée de son frère.
23 When that day comes -- Yahweh Sabaoth declares -- I shal take you, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel myservant -- Yahweh declares -- and make you like a signet ring. For I have chosen you -- Yahweh Sabaothdeclares." '	23 En ce jour-là - oracle de Yahvé Sabaot - je te prendrai, Zorobabel, fils de Shéaltiel, mon serviteur -oracle de Yahvé - et je ferai de toi comme un anneau à cachet. Car c'est toi que j'ai choisi, oracle de YahvéSabaot.
