1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Le Seigneur parla encore à Moïse, et lui dit :
2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:	2 Ordonne ceci aux enfants d'Israël, et dis-leur : Lorsque vous serez entrés dans le pays de Chanaan, et que vous y posséderez chacun ce qui vous sera échu par le sort, voici quelles seront vos limites.
3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.	3 Le côté du midi commencera au désert de Sin, qui est près d'Edom ; et il aura pour limites vers l'orient la mer Salée.
4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.	4 Ces limites du midi seront le long du circuit que fait la montée du Scorpion, elles passeront par Senna, et s'étendront depuis le midi jusqu'à Cadèsbarné. De là elles iront jusqu'au village nommé Adar, et s'étendront jusqu'à Asémona.
5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.	5 D'Asémona, elles iront en tournant jusqu'au torrent d'Egypte, et elles finiront au bord de la grande mer.
6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.	6 (Mais) Le côté de l'occident commencera à la grande mer, et s'y terminera pareillement.
7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,	7 Les limites du côté du septentrion commenceront à la grande mer, et s'étendront jusqu'à la (très) haute montagne.
8 then from Mount Hor you wil draw a line to the Pass of Hamath, and the boundary will end at Zedad.	8 De là elles iront vers Emath, jusqu'aux confins de Sédada ;
9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.	9 et elles s'étendront jusqu'à Zéphrona et au village d'Enan. Ce seront là les limites du côté du septentrion (l'aquilon).
10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.	10 Les limites du côté de l'orient se mesureront depuis ce même village d'Enan jusqu'à Séphama.
11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.	11 (Et) De Séphama, elles descendront à Rébla, vis-à-vis de la fontaine de Daphnim. De là elles descendront le long de l'orient jusqu'à la mer de Cénéreth,
12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '	12 et passeront jusqu'au Jourdain ; et elles se termineront enfin à la mer (très) salée. Voilà quelles seront les limites et l'étendue du pays que vous devez posséder.
13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,	13 Moïse donna donc cet ordre aux enfants d'Israël, et leur dit : Ce sera là la terre que vous posséderez par le sort, et que le Seigneur a commandé que l'on donnât aux neuf tribus et à la moitié de la tribu (de Manassé).
14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.	14 Car la tribu des enfants de Ruben avec toutes ses familles, la tribu des enfants de Gad, distinguée aussi selon le nombre de ses familles, et la moitié de la tribu de Manassé,
15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'	15 c'est-à-dire deux tribus et demie, ont déjà reçu leur partage en deçà du Jourdain, vis-à-vis de Jéricho, du côté de l'orient.
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Le Seigneur dit aussi à Moïse :
17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,	17 Voici les noms de ceux qui partageront la terre entre vous : le grand prêtre Eléazar et Josué, fils de Nun,
18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.	18 avec un prince de chaque tribu,
19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;	19 dont voici les noms. De la tribu de Juda, Caleb, fils de Jéphoné.
20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;	20 De la tribu de Siméon ; Samuel, fils d'Ammiud.
21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;	21 De la tribu de Benjamin, Elidad, fils de Chasélon.
22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;	22 De la tribu des enfants de Dan, Bocci, fils de Jogli.
23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;	23 Des enfants de Joseph : de la tribu de Manassé, Hanniel, fils d'Ephod ;
24 'for the tribe of the Ephraimites, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;	24 et de la tribu d'Ephraïm, Camuel, fils de Sephtan.
25 'for the tribe of the Zebulunites, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;	25 De la tribu de Zabulon, Elisaphan, fils de Pharnach.
26 'for the tribe of the Issacharites, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;	26 De la tribu d'Issachar, le prince (chef) Phaltiel, fils d'Osan.
27 'for the tribe of the Asherites, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;	27 De la tribu d'Aser, Ahiud, fils de Salomi.
28 'for the tribe of the Naphtalites, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.'	28 De la tribu de Nephtali, Phédaël, fils d'Ammiud.
29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.	29 Ce sont là ceux à qui le Seigneur a commandé de partager aux enfants d'Israël le pays de Chanaan.
