1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Yahvé dit à Moïse:
2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:	2 “Voici un ordre pour les Israélites. Tu leur diras: Lorsque vous serez entrés dans le pays de Canaan, voici le territoire qui sera votre possession: c’est le pays de Canaan selon ses frontières.
3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.	3 Il s’étendra au sud jusqu’au désert de Tsin à la limite d’Édom. Votre frontière au sud commencera à l’est de la Mer Salée.
4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.	4 Elle descendra ensuite vers le sud dans la direction de la Montée-des-Scorpions, elle passera par Tsin et arrivera au sud à Qadesh-Barné. Elle ira ensuite vers Hasar-Addar, elle passera par Asmon,
5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.	5 et d’Asmon, la frontière tournera vers le torrent d’Égypte pour aboutir à la mer.
6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.	6 La Grande Mer vous servira de frontière maritime, ce sera votre frontière occidentale.
7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,	7 Voici votre frontière au nord: de la Grande Mer vous tracerez une ligne vers Hor-la-Montagne,

9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.	9 elle se prolongera vers Zifron et s’achèvera à Hasar-Énan. Voilà quelle sera votre frontière au nord.
10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.	10 Pour la frontière de l’est, vous tracerez une ligne depuis Hasar-Énan jusqu’à Chéfam.
11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.	11 La frontière descendra de Chéfam vers Harbel, à l’est d’Ayin, elle descendra encore pour rejoindre la rive orientale de la mer de Kinnéret.
12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '	12 Ensuite la frontière longera le Jourdain pour arriver à la Mer Salée. Voilà votre pays avec les frontières qui l’entourent.”
13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,	13 Moïse donna cet ordre aux Israélites: “Voilà le pays que vous vous partagerez par le sort. Yahvé a ordonné de le donner aux neuf tribus et à la demi tribu.
14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.	14 En effet, les clans de la tribu de Ruben, les clans de la tribu de Gad et la demi-tribu de Manassé ont déjà pris leur part d’héritage.
15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'	15 Ces deux tribus et cette demi-tribu ont pris leur héritage au-delà du Jourdain, à l’est.”
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Yahvé dit encore à Moïse:
17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,	17 “Voici les noms des hommes qui feront le partage du pays: Éléazar, le prêtre, et Josué fils de Noun.
18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.	18 Vous choisirez aussi un chef par tribu pour partager le pays.
19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;	19 Voici les noms de ces hommes: pour la tribu de Juda, Caleb fils de Yéfouné;
20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;	20 pour la tribu de Siméon, Chémouel fils d’Ammihoud;
21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;	21 pour la tribu de Benjamin, Élidad fils de Kislon;
22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;	22 pour la tribu de Dan, le chef Bouki fils de Yogli;
23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;	23 pour les fils de Joseph, pour la tribu de Manassé, le chef Hanniel fils d’Éfod;
24 'for the tribe of the Ephraimites, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;	24 et pour la tribu d’Éphraïm, le chef Kémouel fils de Chiftan;
25 'for the tribe of the Zebulunites, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;	25 pour la tribu de Zabulon, le chef Élisafan fils de Parnak;
26 'for the tribe of the Issacharites, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;	26 pour la tribu d’Issacar, le chef Paltiel fils d’Azzan;
27 'for the tribe of the Asherites, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;	27 pour la tribu d’Asher, le chef Ahioud fils de Chélomi;
28 'for the tribe of the Naphtalites, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.'	28 pour la tribu de Nephtali, le chef Pédahel fils d’Ammihoud.
29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.	29 Ce sont eux que Yahvé désigna pour partager la terre de Canaan entre les Israélites.
