NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen dicens:
2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:	2 “ Praecipe fi liis Israel et dices ad eos: Cum ingressi fueritis terram hanc Chanaan, et in possessionem vobis sorte ceciderit, his finibus terminabitur.
3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.	3 Pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin, quae est iuxta Edom, et habebit terminos contra orientem mare Salsissimum.
4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.	4 Qui circuibunt australem plagam per ascensum Acrabbim (id est Scorpionum), ita ut transeant in Sin et perveniant ad meridiem Cadesbarne, unde egredientur ad Asaraddar et tendent usque ad Asemona.
5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.	5 Ibitque per gyrum terminus ab Asemona usque ad torrentem Aegypti, et maris Magni litore finietur.
6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.	6 Plaga autem occidentalis a mari Magno incipiet et ipso fine claudetur.
7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,	7 Porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari Magno termini incipient pervenientes usque ad montem Hor,
8 then from Mount Hor you wil draw a line to the Pass of Hamath, and the boundary will end at Zedad.	8 a quo venient in introitum Emath usque ad terminos Sedada.
9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.	9 Ibuntque confinia usque ad Zephrona et Asarenon. Hi erunt termini in parte aquilonis.
10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.	10 Inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de Asarenon usque Sephama;
11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.	11 et de Sephama descendent termini in Rebla ad orientem Ain; inde descendent et pervenient ad latus maris Chenereth in oriente
12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '	12 et tendent usque ad Iordanem, et ad ultimum Salsissimo claudentur mari. Hanc habebitis terram per fines suos in circuitu ”.
13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,	13 Praecepitque Moyses filiis Israel dicens: “ Haec erit terra, quam possidebitis sorte et quam iussit Dominus dari novem tribubus et dimidiae tribui.
14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.	14 Tribus enim filiorum Ruben per familias suas et tribus filiorum Gad iuxta cognationum numerum media quoque tribus Manasse,
15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'	15 id est duae semis tribus, acceperunt partem suam trans Iordanem contra Iericho ad orientalem plagam ”.
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Et ait Dominus ad Moysen:
17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,	17 “ Haec sunt nomina virorum, qui terram vobis divident: Eleazar sacerdos et Iosue filius Nun
18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.	18 et singuli principes de tribubus singulis,
19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;	19 quorum ista sunt vocabula: de tribu Iudae Chaleb filius Iephonne;
20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;	20 de tribu Simeon Samuel filius Ammiud;
21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;	21 de tribu Beniamin Elidad filius Chaselon;
22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;	22 de tribu filiorum Dan Bocci filius Iogli.
23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;	23 Filiorum Ioseph: de tribu Manasse Hanniel filius Ephod,

29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.	29 Hi sunt, quibus praecepit Dominus, ut dividerent filiis Israel terram Chanaan.
