1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 - Ed il Signore parlò a Mosè, e disse:
2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:	2 «Ordina, e di' questo ai figli d'Israele: - Quando sarete entrati nella terra di Canaan, e sarà diventata vostra possessione ed eredità i suoi confini saranno questi:
3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.	3 La parte meridionale comincerà dal deserto di Sin presso Edom, e terminerà ad oriente col Mare di Sale.
4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.	4 I confini di detta regione australe gireranno per la Salita dello Scorpione, in modo da passare per Senna, e giungere a mezzogiorno sino a Cadesbarne: di lì andranno alla Villa detta di Adar, e si stenderanno sino ad Asemona.
5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.	5 Poi gireranno da Asemona sino al torrente d'Egitto, e finiranno alla costa del Gran Mare.
6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.	6 La regione occidentale comincerà al Gran Mare, che sarà tutta la sua frontiera.
7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,	7 Per la regione settentrionale, i limiti moveranno dal Mar Grande, e giungeranno sino al Monte Altissimo;
8 then from Mount Hor you wil draw a line to the Pass of Hamath, and the boundary will end at Zedad.	8 di lì verranno per Emat sino ai confini di Sedada,
9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.	9 ed arriveranno sino a Zefrona ed alla Villa di Enan. Son questi i confini settentrionali.
10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.	10 Di lì poi, sul lato orientale, i confini si misureranno dalla Villa di Enan sino a Sefama;
11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.	11 da Sefama scenderanno in Rebla di contro alla fonte di Dafnim; di qui giungeranno verso oriente al Mare di Ceneret,
12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '	12 si stenderanno sino al Giordano, ed in ultimo si chiuderanno al Mare di Sale. Questa sarà la terra che possederete, e questi i suoi confini tutto all'intorno-».
13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,	13 E Mosè fece un bando a' figli d'Israele dicendo: «È questa la terra che vi toccherà in sorte, e che il Signore ha comandato si dia a nove tribù e mezzo.
14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.	14 Perchè la tribù de' figli di Ruben secondo le sue famiglie, la tribù de' figli di Gad secondo il numero delle sue casate, e mezza tribù di Manasse,
15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'	15 cioè due tribù e mezzo, hanno già ricevuto la loro parte di là del Giordano, di contro a Gerico, nella regione orientale».
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Ed il Signore disse a Mosè:
17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,	17 «Ecco i nomi degli uomini che spartiranno la terra fra voi: Eleazaro sacerdote, Giosuè figlio di Nun,
18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.	18 ed uno de' principali d'ogni tribù,
19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;	19 dei quali ecco i nomi: Della tribù di Giuda, Caleb figlio di Iefone;
20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;	20 della tribù di Simeon, Samuel figlio di Ammiud;
21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;	21 della tribù di Beniamino, Elidad figlio di Caselon;
22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;	22 della tribù de' figli di Dan, Bocci figlio di Iogli.
23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;	23 Pei figli di Giuseppe, della tribù di Manasse, Hanniel figlio di Efod;
24 'for the tribe of the Ephraimites, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;	24 della tribù di Efraim, Camuel figlio di Seftan.
25 'for the tribe of the Zebulunites, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;	25 Della tribù di Zabulon, Elisafan figlio di Farnac;
26 'for the tribe of the Issacharites, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;	26 della tribù di Issacar, Faltiel principe figlio di Ozan;
27 'for the tribe of the Asherites, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;	27 della tribù di Aser, Aiud figlio di Salomi;
28 'for the tribe of the Naphtalites, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.'	28 della tribù di Neftali, Fedael figlio di Ammiud».
29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.	29 Questi son quelli ai quali il Signore comandò che spartissero tra' figli d'Israele la terra di Canaan.
