NEW JERUSALEM	VULGATA
1 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said,	1 Locutusque est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens :
2 'Give the Israelites this order. Say: "When you enter the country (Canaan), this will be the countrywhich forms your heritage. This is Canaan as defined by its boundaries:	2 Præcipe filiis Israël, et dices ad eos : Cum ingressi fueritis terram Chanaan, et in possessionem vobis sorte ceciderit, his finibus terminabitur.
3 "The southern part of your country wil start from the desert of Zin, on the borders of Edom. Yoursouthern boundary wil start on the east at the end of the Salt Sea.	3 Pars meridiana incipiet a solitudine Sin, quæ est juxta Edom : et habebit terminos contra orientem mare salsissimum.
4 It wil then turn south towards the Ascent of the Scorpions and go by Zin to end in the south atKadesh-Barnea. It wil then run towards Hazar-Addar and pass through Azmon.	4 Qui circuibunt australem plagam per ascensum Scorpionis, ita ut transeant in Senna, et perveniant a meridie usque ad Cadesbarne, unde egredientur confinia ad villam nomine Adar, et tendent usque ad Asemona.
5 From Azmon the boundary wil turn towards the Torrent of Egypt and end at the Sea.	5 Ibitque per gyrum terminus ab Asemona usque ad torrentem Ægypti, et maris magni littore finietur.
6 "Your seaboard wil be on the Great Sea; this will be your western boundary.	6 Plaga autem occidentalis a mari magno incipiet, et ipso fine claudetur.
7 "Your northern boundary wil be as fol ows: you wil draw a line from the Great Sea to Mount Hor,	7 Porro ad septentrionalem plagam a mari magno termini incipient, pervenientes usque ad montem altissimum,
8 then from Mount Hor you wil draw a line to the Pass of Hamath, and the boundary will end at Zedad.	8 a quo venient in Emath usque ad terminos Sedada :
9 From there it wil run on to Ziphron and end at Hazar-Enan. This wil be your northern boundary.	9 ibuntque confinia usque ad Zephrona, et villam Enan. Hi erunt termini in parte aquilonis.
10 "You will then draw your eastern boundary from Hazar-Enan to Shepham.	10 Inde metabuntur fines contra orientalem plagam de villa Enan usque Sephama,
11 The boundary wil run down from Shepham towards Riblah on the east side of Ain. Further down itwil keep to the eastern shore of the Sea of Chinnereth.	11 et de Sephama descendent termini in Rebla contra fontem Daphnim : inde pervenient contra orientem ad mare Cenereth,
12 The frontier wil then fol ow the Jordan and end at the Salt Sea. "Such wil be your country with theboundaries surrounding it." '	12 et tendent usque ad Jordanem, et ad ultimum salsissimo claudentur mari. Hanc habebitis terram per fines suos in circuitu.
13 Moses then gave the Israelites this order: 'This is the country, where your heritages wil be assignedby lot, and which Yahweh has ordered to be given to the nine tribes and the half-tribe,	13 Præcepitque Moyses filiis Israël, dicens : Hæc erit terra, quam possidebitis sorte, et quam jussit Dominus dari novem tribubus, et dimidiæ tribui.
14 for the tribe of the Reubenites with their families and the tribe of the Gadites with their families havealready received their heritage; the half-tribe of Manasseh has also received its heritage.	14 Tribus enim filiorum Ruben per familias suas, et tribus filiorum Gad juxta cognationum numerum, media quoque tribus Manasse,
15 These two tribes and the half-tribe have received their heritage on the other side of the Jordan byJericho, to the east, towards the sunrise.'	15 id est, duæ semis tribus, acceperunt partem suam trans Jordanem contra Jericho ad orientalem plagam.
16 Yahweh spoke to Moses and said:	16 Et ait Dominus ad Moysen :
17 'Here are the names of the men who wil divide the country up for you: the priest Eleazar andJoshua son of Nun,	17 Hæc sunt nomina virorum qui terram vobis divident, Eleazar sacerdos, et Josue filius Nun,
18 and you wil take one leader from each tribe to divide the country up into heritages.	18 et singuli principes de tribubus singulis,
19 Here are the names of these men: 'For the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;	19 quorum ista sunt vocabula. De tribu Juda, Caleb filius Jephone.
20 'for the tribe of the Simeonites, Shemuel son of Ammihud;	20 De tribu Simeon, Samuel filius Ammiud.
21 'for the tribe of Benjamin, Elidad son of Chislon;	21 De tribu Benjamin, Elidad filius Chaselon.
22 'for the tribe of the Danites, the leader Bukki son of Jogli;	22 De tribu filiorum Dan, Bocci filius Jogli.
23 'for the sons of Joseph: for the tribe of Manasseh, the leader Hanniel son of Ephod;	23 Filiorum Joseph de tribu Manasse, Hanniel filius Ephod.
24 'for the tribe of the Ephraimites, the leader Kemuel son of Shiphtan;	24 De tribu Ephraim, Camuel filius Sephthan.
25 'for the tribe of the Zebulunites, the leader Elizaphan son of Parnach;	25 De tribu Zabulon, Elisaphan filius Pharnach.
26 'for the tribe of the Issacharites, the leader Paltiel son of Azzan;	26 De tribu Issachar, dux Phaltiel filius Ozan.
27 'for the tribe of the Asherites, the leader Ahihud son of Shelomi;	27 De tribu Aser, Ahiud filius Salomi.
28 'for the tribe of the Naphtalites, the leader Pedahel son of Ammihud.'	28 De tribu Nephthali, Phedaël filius Ammiud.
29 These were the men whom Yahweh ordered to divide Canaan into heritages for the Israelites.	29 Hi sunt, quibus præcepit Dominus ut dividerent filiis Israël terram Chanaan.
