Proverbs 9

NEW JERUSALEM	EL LIBRO DEL PUEBLO DE DIOS
1 Wisdom has built herself a house, she has hewn her seven pil ars,	1 La Sabiduría edificó su casa, talló sus siete columnas,
2 she has slaughtered her beasts, drawn her wine, she has laid her table.	2 inmoló sus víctimas, mezcló su vino, y también preparó su mesa.
3 She has despatched her maidservants and proclaimed from the heights above the city,	3 Ella envió a sus servidoras a proclamar sobre los sitios más altos de la ciudad:
4 'Who is simple? Let him come this way.' To the fool she says,	4 «El que sea incauto, que venga aquí». Y al falto de entendimiento, le dice:
5 'Come and eat my bread, drink the wine which I have drawn!	5 «Vengan, coman de mi pan, y beban del vino que yo mezclé.
6 Leave foolishness behind and you wil live, go forwards in the ways of perception.'	6 Abandonen la ingenuidad, y vivirán, y sigan derecho por el camino de la inteligencia».
7 Reprove a mocker and you attract contempt, rebuke the wicked and you attract dishonour.	7 El que corrige a un insolente se atrae la ignominia, y el que reprende a un malvado, el deshonor,
8 Do not rebuke the mocker, he wil hate you. Rebuke the wise and he wil love you for it.	8 No reprendas a un insolente, no sea que te odie; reprende a un sabio, y te amará,
9 Be open with the wise, he grows wiser stil , teach the upright, he wil gain yet more.	9 Da al sabio y se hará más sabio aún, instruye al justo y ganará en saber.
10 The first principle of wisdom is the fear of Yahweh, What God's holy ones know -- this isunderstanding.	10 El comienzo de la sabiduría es el temor del Señor, y la ciencia del Santo es la inteligencia.
11 For by me your days wil be multiplied, and your years of life increased.	11 Porque tus días se multiplicarán gracias a mí y se añadirán años a tu vida.
12 Are you wise? You are wise to your own good. A mocker? The burden is yours alone.	12 Si eres sabio, lo eres para ti, si eres insolente, tú solo lo sufrirás.
13 A silly woman acts on impulse, is foolish and knows nothing.	13 La señora Necedad es turbulenta, es estúpida y no sabe nada.
14 She sits at the door of her house, on a throne high up in the city,	14 Ella se sienta a la puerta de su casa, en una silla, sobre las alturas de la ciudad,
15 cal ing to the passers-by, who are walking straight past on their way,	15 para gritar a los transeúntes que van derecho por el camino:
16 'Who is simple? Turn aside, come over here.' To the fool she says,	16 «El que sea incauto, que venga aquí». Y al falto de entendimiento, le dice:
17 'Stolen waters are sweet, and bread tastes better when eaten in secret.'	17 «¡Las aguas robadas son dulces y el pan quitado a escondidas, delicioso!».
18 But the fool does not know that this is where the Shades are and that her guests are already in thevales of Sheol.	18 Pero él no sabe que allí están las Sombras, y sus invitados, en las profundidades del Abismo.
