Psalms 44

NEW JERUSALEM	SMITH VAN DYKE
1 [For the choirmaster Of the sons of Korah Poem] God, we have heard for ourselves, our ancestorshave told us, of the deeds you did in their days, in days of old,	1 لامام المغنين. لبني قورح. قصيدة‎. ‎اللهم بآذاننا قد سمعنا. آباؤنا اخبرونا بعمل عملته في ايامهم في ايام القدم‎.
2 by your hand. To establish them in the land you drove out nations, to make room for them you harriedpeoples.	2 ‎انت بيدك استأصلت الامم وغرستهم. حطمت شعوبا ومددتهم‎.
3 It was not their own sword that won the land, nor their own arms which made them victorious, but yourhand it was and your arm, and the light of your presence, for you loved them.	3 ‎لانه ليس بسيفهم امتلكوا الارض ولا ذراعهم خلصتهم لكن يمينك وذراعك ونور وجهك لانك رضيت عنهم
4 You are my king, my God, who decreed Jacob's victories;	4 انت هو ملكي يا الله. فأمر بخلاص يعقوب‎.
5 through you we conquered our opponents, in your name we trampled down those who rose up againstus.	5 ‎بك ننطح مضايقينا. باسمك ندوس القائمين علينا‎.
6 For my trust was not in my bow, my victory was not won by my sword;	6 ‎لاني على قوسي لا اتكل وسيفي لا يخلصني‎.
7 it was you who saved us from our opponents, you who put to shame those who hate us.	7 ‎لانك انت خلصتنا من مضايقينا واخزيت مبغضينا‎.
8 Our boast was always of God, we praised your name without ceasing.Pause	8 ‎بالله نفتخر اليوم كله واسمك نحمد الى الدهر. سلاه
9 Yet now you have abandoned and humiliated us, you no longer take the field with our armies,	9 لكنك قد رفضتنا واخجلتنا ولا تخرج مع جنودنا‎.
10 you leave us to fall back before the enemy, those who hate us plunder us at wil .	10 ‎ترجعنا الى الوراء عن العدو ومبغضونا نهبوا لانفسهم‎.
11 You hand us over like sheep for slaughter, you scatter us among the nations,	11 ‎جعلتنا كالضأن اكلا. ذريتنا بين الامم‎.
12 you sell your people for a trifle and make no profit on the sale.	12 ‎بعت شعبك بغير مال وما ربحت بثمنهم‎.
13 You make us the butt of our neighbours, the mockery and scorn of those around us,	13 ‎تجعلنا عارا عند جيراننا. هزأة وسخرة للذين حولنا‎.
14 you make us a by-word among nations, other peoples shake their heads over us.	14 ‎تجعلنا مثلا بين الشعوب. لانغاض الراس بين الامم‎.
15 Al day long I brood on my disgrace, the shame written clear on my face,	15 ‎اليوم كله خجلي امامي وخزي وجهي قد غطاني
16 from the sound of insult and abuse, from the sight of hatred and vengefulness.	16 من صوت المعيّر والشاتم. من وجه عدو ومنتقم
17 Al this has befal en us though we had not forgotten you, nor been disloyal to your covenant,	17 هذا كله جاء علينا وما نسيناك ولا خنّا في عهدك‎.
18 our hearts never turning away, our feet never straying from your path.	18 ‎لم يرتد قلبنا الى وراء ولا مالت خطواتنا عن طريقك
19 Yet you have crushed us in the place where jackals live, and immersed us in shadow dark as death.	19 حتى سحقتنا في مكان التنانين وغطيتنا بظل الموت‎.
20 Had we forgotten the name of our God and stretched out our hands to a foreign god,	20 ‎ان نسينا اسم الهنا او بسطنا ايدينا الى اله غريب
21 would not God have found this out, for he knows the secrets of the heart?	21 أفلا يفحص الله عن هذا لانه هو يعرف خفيّات القلب‎.
22 For your sake we are being massacred all day long, treated as sheep to be slaughtered.	22 ‎لاننا من اجلك نمات اليوم كله. قد حسبنا مثل غنم للذبح
23 Wake, Lord! Why are you asleep? Awake! Do not abandon us for good.	23 استيقظ. لماذا تتغافى يا رب. انتبه. لا ترفض الى الابد‎.
24 Why do you turn your face away, forgetting that we are poor and harrassed?	24 ‎لماذا تحجب وجهك وتنسى مذلتنا وضيقنا‎.
25 For we are bowed down to the dust, and lie prone on the ground.	25 ‎لان انفسنا منحنية الى التراب. لصقت في الارض بطوننا‎.
26 Arise! Come to our help! Ransom us, as your faithful love demands.	26 ‎قم عونا لنا وافدنا من اجل رحمتك
