NEW JERUSALEMKING JAMES BIBLE
[Psalm Of David] Yahweh, I am cal ing, hurry to me, listen to my voice when I cal to you.1 LORD, I cry unto thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I cry unto thee.
May my prayer be like incense in your presence, my uplifted hands like the evening sacrifice.2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Yahweh, mount a guard over my mouth, a guard at the door of my lips.3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
Check any impulse to speak evil, to share the foul deeds of evil-doers. I shal not sample theirdelights!4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.
May the upright correct me with a friend's rebuke; but the wicked shal never anoint my head with oil,for that would make me party to their crimes.5 Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.
They are delivered into the power of the rock, their judge, those who took pleasure in hearing mesay,6 When their judges are overthrown in stony places, they shall hear my words; for they are sweet.
'Like a shattered mil stone on the ground our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.'7 Our bones are scattered at the grave's mouth, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth.
To you, Yahweh, I turn my eyes, in you I take refuge, do not leave me unprotected.8 But mine eyes are unto thee, O GOD the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute.
Save me from the traps that are set for me, the snares of evil-doers.9 Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity.
Let the wicked fal each into his own net, while I pass on my way.10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.
