Psalms 135

NEW JERUSALEM	CATHOLIC PUBLIC DOMAIN
1 Al eluia! Praise the name of Yahweh, you who serve Yahweh, praise him,	1 Alleluia. Confess to the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy is eternal.
2 serving in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God.	2 Confess to the God of gods, for his mercy is eternal.
3 Praise Yahweh, for Yahweh is good, make music for his name -- it brings joy-	3 Confess to the Lord of lords, for his mercy is eternal.
4 for Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.	4 He alone performs great miracles, for his mercy is eternal.
5 For I know that Yahweh is great, our Lord is above al gods.	5 He made the heavens with understanding, for his mercy is eternal.
6 Yahweh does whatever he pleases in heaven, on earth, in the waters and al the depths.	6 He established the earth above the waters, for his mercy is eternal.
7 He summons up clouds from the borders of earth, sends rain with lightning-flashes, and brings thewind out of his storehouse.	7 He made the great lights, for his mercy is eternal:
8 He struck the first-born in Egypt, man and beast alike,	8 the sun to rule the day, for his mercy is eternal:
9 he sent signs and wonders into the heart of Egypt, against Pharaoh and al his officials.	9 the moon and the stars to rule the night, for his mercy is eternal.
10 He struck down many nations, he slaughtered mighty kings,	10 He struck Egypt along with their first-born, for his mercy is eternal.
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and al the kingdoms of Canaan.	11 He led Israel away from their midst, for his mercy is eternal:
12 He gave their land as a birthright, a birthright to his people Israel.	12 with a powerful hand and an outstretched arm, for his mercy is eternal.
13 Yahweh, your name endures for ever, Yahweh, your memory is fresh from age to age.	13 He divided the Red Sea into separate parts, for his mercy is eternal.
14 For Yahweh vindicates his people, feels compassion for his servants.	14 And he led out Israel through the middle of it, for his mercy is eternal.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands.	15 And he shook off Pharaoh and his army in the Red Sea, for his mercy is eternal.
16 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	16 He led his people through the desert, for his mercy is eternal.
17 have ears but hear nothing, and they have no breath in their mouths.	17 He has struck great kings, for his mercy is eternal.
18 Their makers wil end up like them, everyone who relies on them.	18 And he has slaughtered strong kings, for his mercy is eternal:
19 House of Israel, bless Yahweh, House of Aaron, bless Yahweh,	19 Sihon, king of the Amorites, for his mercy is eternal:
20 House of Levi, bless Yahweh, you who fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.	20 and Og, king of Bashan, for his mercy is eternal.
21 Blessed be Yahweh from Zion, he who dwel s in Jerusalem!	21 And he granted their land as an inheritance, for his mercy is eternal:
	22 as an inheritance for his servant Israel, for his mercy is eternal.
	23 For he was mindful of us in our humiliation, for his mercy is eternal.
	24 And he redeemed us from our enemies, for his mercy is eternal.
	25 He gives food to all flesh, for his mercy is eternal.
	26 Confess to the God of heaven, for his mercy is eternal.
	27 Confess to the Lord of lords, for his mercy is eternal.
