Psalms 135

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Al eluia! Praise the name of Yahweh, you who serve Yahweh, praise him,	1 ALLELUIA. Laudate nomen Domini, laudate, servi Domini,
2 serving in the house of Yahweh, in the courts of the house of our God.	2 qui statis in domo Domini, in atriis domus Dei nostri.
3 Praise Yahweh, for Yahweh is good, make music for his name -- it brings joy-	3 Laudate Dominum, quia bonus Dominus; psallite nomini eius, quoniam suave.
4 for Yahweh has chosen Jacob for himself, Israel as his own possession.	4 Quoniam Iacob elegit sibi Dominus, Israel in peculium sibi.
5 For I know that Yahweh is great, our Lord is above al gods.	5 Quia ego cognovi quod magnus est Dominus, et Deus noster prae omnibus diis.
6 Yahweh does whatever he pleases in heaven, on earth, in the waters and al the depths.	6 Omnia, quaecumque voluit, Dominus fecit in caelo et in terra, in mari et in omnibus abyssis.
7 He summons up clouds from the borders of earth, sends rain with lightning-flashes, and brings thewind out of his storehouse.	7 Adducens nubes ab extremo terrae, fulgura in pluviam facit, producit ventos de thesauris suis.
8 He struck the first-born in Egypt, man and beast alike,	8 Qui percussit primogenita Aegypti ab homine usque ad pecus.
9 he sent signs and wonders into the heart of Egypt, against Pharaoh and al his officials.	9 Misit signa et prodigia in medio tui, Aegypte, in pharaonem et in omnes servos eius.
10 He struck down many nations, he slaughtered mighty kings,	10 Qui percussit gentes multas et occidit reges fortes:
11 Sihon king of the Amorites, and Og king of Bashan, and al the kingdoms of Canaan.	11 Sehon regem Amorraeorum et Og regem Basan et omnia regna Chanaan.
12 He gave their land as a birthright, a birthright to his people Israel.	12 Et dedit terram eorum hereditatem, hereditatem Israel populo suo.
13 Yahweh, your name endures for ever, Yahweh, your memory is fresh from age to age.	13 Domine, nomen tuum in aeternum; Domine, memoriale tuum in generationem et generationem.
14 For Yahweh vindicates his people, feels compassion for his servants.	14 Quia iudicabit Dominus populum suum et servorum suorum miserebitur.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, made by human hands.	15 Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum, opera manuum hominum.
16 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	16 Os habent et non loquentur, oculos habent et non videbunt.
17 have ears but hear nothing, and they have no breath in their mouths.	17 Aures habent et non audient; neque enim est spiritus in ore ipsorum.
18 Their makers wil end up like them, everyone who relies on them.	18 Similes illis erunt, qui faciunt ea, et omnes, qui confidunt in eis.
19 House of Israel, bless Yahweh, House of Aaron, bless Yahweh,	19 Domus Israel, benedicite Domino; domus Aaron, benedicite Domino;
20 House of Levi, bless Yahweh, you who fear Yahweh, bless Yahweh.	20 domus Levi, benedicite Domino; qui timetis Dominum, benedicite Domino.
21 Blessed be Yahweh from Zion, he who dwel s in Jerusalem!	21 Benedictus Dominus ex Sion, qui habitat in Ierusalem. ALLELUIA.
