Psalms 115

NEW JERUSALEM	SAGRADA BIBLIA
1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!	1 Não a nós, Senhor, não a nós, mas ao vosso nome dai glória, por amor de vossa misericórdia e fidelidade.
2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'	2 Por que diriam as nações pagãs: Onde está o Deus deles?
3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.	3 Nosso Deus está nos céus; ele faz tudo o que lhe apraz.
4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.	4 Quanto a seus ídolos de ouro e prata, são eles simples obras da mão dos homens.
5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	5 Têm boca, mas não falam, olhos e não podem ver,
6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.	6 têm ouvidos, mas não ouvem, nariz e não podem cheirar.
7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.	7 Têm mãos, mas não apalpam, pés e não podem andar, sua garganta não emite som algum.
8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.	8 Semelhantes a eles sejam os que os fabricam e quantos neles põem sua confiança.
9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	9 Mas Israel, ao contrário, confia no Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	10 Aarão confia no Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	11 Confiam no Senhor os que temem o Senhor: ele é o seu amparo e o seu escudo.
12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,	12 O Senhor se lembra de nós e nos dará a sua bênção; abençoará a casa de Israel, abençoará a casa de Aarão,
13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.	13 abençoará aos que temem ao Senhor, os pequenos como os grandes.
14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!	14 O Senhor há de vos multiplicar, vós e vossos filhos.
15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.	15 Sede os benditos do Senhor, que fez o céu e a terra.
16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.	16 O céu é o céu do Senhor, mas a terra ele a deu aos filhos de Adão.
17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,	17 Não são os mortos que louvam o Senhor, nem nenhum daqueles que descem aos lugares infernais.
18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.	18 Mas somos nós que bendizemos ao Senhor agora e para sempre.
