Psalms 115

NEW JERUSALEM	LA SACRA BIBBIA
1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!	1 Non a noi, Signore, non a noi, ma al tuo nome da' gloria: a motivo della tua misericordia, in ragione della tua fedeltà.
2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'	2 Perché dovrebbero dire le genti: "Dov'è il loro Dio?".
3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.	3 Il nostro Dio sta nei cieli; egli ha fatto tutto ciò che ha voluto.
4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.	4 I loro idoli sono argento e oro, opera delle loro mani.
5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	5 Hanno bocca e non parlano, hanno occhi e non vedono.
6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.	6 Hanno orecchi e non odono, hanno narici e non odorano.
7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.	7 Hanno mani e non palpano, hanno piedi e non camminano, non emettono suoni dalla loro bocca.
8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.	8 Siano come loro quelli che li fabbricano, e chiunque in essi confida.
9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	9 Confida nel Signore, casa d'Israele: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo
10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	10 Confida nel Signore, casa di Aronne: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.
11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	11 Confidate nel Signore, voi che lo temete: egli è loro aiuto e loro scudo.
12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,	12 Il Signore s'è ricordato di noi: ci benedirà; benedirà la casa d'Israele, benedirà la casa di Aronne,
13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.	13 benedirà quelli che temono il Signore, i piccoli insieme ai grandi.
14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!	14 Vi moltiplichi il Signore, voi e i vostri figli.
15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.	15 Siate benedetti dal Signore: egli ha fatto cieli e terra.
16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.	16 I cieli sono cieli del Signore, ma la terra, l'ha data ai figli dell'uomo.
17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,	17 Non i morti lodano il Signore, né coloro che scendono nel silenzio;
18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.	18 ma noi benediciamo il Signore, ora e sempre! Alleluia.
