Psalms 115

NEW JERUSALEM	NOVA VULGATA
1 Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give the glory, for your faithful love and yourconstancy!	1 Non nobis, Domine, non nobis, sed nomini tuo da gloriam super misericordia tua et veritate tua.
2 Why should the nations ask, 'Where is their God?'	2 Quare dicent gentes: “ Ubi est Deus eorum? ”.
3 Our God is in heaven, he creates whatever he chooses.	3 Deus autem noster in caelo; omnia, quaecumque voluit, fecit.
4 They have idols of silver and gold, made by human hands.	4 Simulacra gentium argentum et aurum, opera manuum hominum.
5 These have mouths but say nothing, have eyes but see nothing,	5 Os habent et non loquentur, oculos habent et non videbunt.
6 have ears but hear nothing, have noses but smel nothing.	6 Aures habent et non audient, nares habent et non odorabunt.
7 They have hands but cannot feel, have feet but cannot walk, no sound comes from their throats.	7 Manus habent et non palpabunt, pedes habent et non ambulabunt; non clamabunt in gutture suo.
8 Their makers wil end up like them, and al who rely on them.	8 Similes illis erunt, qui faciunt ea, et omnes, qui confidunt in eis.
9 House of Israel, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	9 Domus Israel speravit in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.
10 House of Aaron, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	10 Domus Aaron speravit in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.
11 You who fear Yahweh, rely on Yahweh; he is their help and their shield.	11 Qui timent Dominum, speraverunt in Domino: adiutorium eorum et scutum eorum est.
12 Yahweh wil keep us in mind, he will bless, he wil bless the House of Israel, he wil bless the Houseof Aaron,	12 Dominus memor fuit nostri et benedicet nobis: benedicet domui Israel, benedicet domui Aaron,
13 he wil bless those who fear Yahweh, small and great alike.	13 benedicet omnibus, qui timent Dominum, pusillis cum maioribus.
14 May Yahweh add to your numbers, yours and your children's too!	14 Adiciat Dominus super vos, super vos et super filios vestros.
15 May you be blessed by Yahweh, who made heaven and earth.	15 Benedicti vos a Domino, qui fecit caelum et terram.
16 Heaven belongs to Yahweh, but earth he has given to the children of Adam.	16 Caeli, caeli sunt Domino, terram autem dedit filiis hominum.
17 The dead cannot praise Yahweh, those who sink into silence,	17 Non mortui laudabunt te, Domine, neque omnes, qui descendunt in silentium,
18 but we, the living, shal bless Yahweh, henceforth and for ever.	18 sed nos, qui vivimus, benedicimus Domino ex hoc nunc et usque in saeculum.
