Psalms 103

1 [Of David] Bless Yahweh, my soul, from the depths of my being, his holy name;	1 Of David. Bless the LORD, my soul; all my being, bless his holy name!
2 bless Yahweh, my soul, never forget al his acts of kindness.	2 Bless the LORD, my soul; do not forget all the gifts of God,
3 He forgives al your offences, cures al your diseases,	3 Who pardons all your sins, heals all your ills,
4 he redeems your life from the abyss, crowns you with faithful love and tenderness;	4 Delivers your life from the pit, surrounds you with love and compassion,
5 he contents you with good things al your life, renews your youth like an eagle's.	5 Fills your days with good things; your youth is renewed like the eagle's.
6 Yahweh acts with uprightness, with justice to all who are oppressed;	6 The LORD does righteous deeds, brings justice to all the oppressed.
7 he revealed to Moses his ways, his great deeds to the children of Israel.	7 His ways were revealed to Moses, mighty deeds to the people of Israel.
8 Yahweh is tenderness and pity, slow to anger and rich in faithful love;	8 Merciful and gracious is the LORD, slow to anger, abounding in kindness.
9 his indignation does not last for ever, nor his resentment remain for al time;	9 God does not always rebuke, nurses no lasting anger,
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve, nor repay us as befits our offences.	10 Has not dealt with us as our sins merit, nor requited us as our deeds deserve.
11 As the height of heaven above earth, so strong is his faithful love for those who fear him.	11 As the heavens tower over the earth, so God's love towers over the faithful.
12 As the distance of east from west, so far from us does he put our faults.	12 As far as the east is from the west, so far have our sins been removed from us.
13 As tenderly as a father treats his children, so Yahweh treats those who fear him;	13 As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on the faithful.
14 he knows of what we are made, he remembers that we are dust.	14 For he knows how we are formed, remembers that we are dust.
15 As for a human person -- his days are like grass, he blooms like the wild flowers;	15 Our days are like the grass; like flowers of the field we blossom.
16 as soon as the wind blows he is gone, never to be seen there again.	16 The wind sweeps over us and we are gone; our place knows us no more.
17 But Yahweh's faithful love for those who fear him is from eternity and for ever; and his saving justiceto their children's children;	17 But the LORD'S kindness is forever, toward the faithful from age to age. He favors the children's children
18 as long as they keep his covenant, and careful y obey his precepts.	18 of those who keep his covenant, who take care to fulfill its precepts.
19 Yahweh has fixed his throne in heaven, his sovereign power rules over all.	19 The LORD'S throne is established in heaven; God's royal power rules over all.
20 Bless Yahweh, al his angels, mighty warriors who fulfil his commands, attentive to the sound of hiswords.	20 Bless the LORD, all you angels, mighty in strength and attentive, obedient to every command.
21 Bless Yahweh, al his armies, servants who fulfil his wishes.	21 Bless the LORD, all you hosts, ministers who do God's will.
22 Bless Yahweh, al his works, in every place where he rules. Bless Yahweh, my soul.	22 Bless the LORD, all creatures, everywhere in God's domain. Bless the LORD, my soul!
